Imperial Center Family Medical - Richard Torrey

Incredible practice. Dr. Torrey is a true physician who takes the time to know his patients and listen to their concerns regarding their health. I have been with Dr. Torrey for over 30 years and have always been impressed with his attention to details and his ability to make connections with past visits and information provided years prior. He treats the whole patient not just the symptoms of the current illness.

I have two children who are preparing to start college and at this present time they both are attempting to pursue a degree in the medical field and we constantly discuss Dr. Torrey's mannerisms, professionalism, and true care for his patients along with other individuals they have experienced in the medical world. Not sure if Dr. Torrey is accepting new patients but if he is you would be extremely lucky to have a doctor with such humbleness mixed with pure confidence based upon his knowledge and constant study of medicine and it's ever evolving changes with a touch of compassion added for good measure.

I have been going to Imperial Center Family Medicine for years. I started out with one provider who made the decision to transition to a new phase in her career. Prior to leaving she paired me with someone who she ultimately knew would be the perfect individual to take over my care. I love Angela. She is the best. I love this practice. Every staff member that I have interacted with have always been courteous and friendly. I am recommend for anyone to visit and and give them a shot. I am sure you will want to continue your care with this team of dedicated health professionals.

Make sure you leave an ample amount of time for visits since you will likely have to wait for the doc for a bit, BUT know that there is a wait because the doctor spends more than 30 seconds with each patient. I have always felt heard on my visits and never rushed, and my interactions with staff have always been pleasant. During my most recent trip, the power went out but the team still worked to get me seen even with no lights or internet. That's dedication! Very glad to have found a center so patient-focused.

Dr. Torrey has been my husband's doctor for many years. He is very professional, caring and thorough. He never gets in a hurry and takes all the time you need to explain things. He responds to the patient portal very promptly. By far, he is the best of the best! You will not be disappointed at this practice.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Torrey! He gives you his undivided attention, expresses genuine interest in your concerns, takes his time with you, and is a wealth of knowledge. Not to mention his delightful demeanor. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in his care. And a shout out to the staff at Imperial Center Family Medicine as well. Always friendly and great at their job. I have been Dr. Richard Torrey's patient for 25 yrs. His willingness to listen to his patients describing the symptoms then using his medical knowledge & experience to come up with a solution is what many other physicians lack. I have seen other medical doctors coming from more renowned medical background, yet only spend a very few minutes with patients, having no time to listen to the description of symptoms, and hurriedly, based on statistical category, write a prescription, walk out to see another patient.

I know the office manager and two fantastic nurses I have known for many years. I am in extremely good hands, and they have not disappointed me, not even once, in all those years.

Dr. Torrey is the BEST! I have never had a better doctor to take the time and explain everything the way he does. I have been seeing him for over twenty years now. I am so so thankful to have him as my primary care physician! His staff is also always so friendly and helpful when you call and when you go in the office.

Imperial Center Family Medicine was recommended by a health care professional. I'm so glad I scheduled an appointment there. I've never been very comfortable visiting health facilities or seeing doctors, but it was a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. The PA who did my evaluation was very nice, took her time getting a full understanding of my problem and explained all her findings in detail after my exam.

I never felt rushed and she addressed all my questions and concerns. It was a very positive experience and I will recommend this medical practice to all my friends and relatives.

Doctor Torrey is absolutely the best! I have been seeing him for 20 years. He listens and offers excellent suggestions as to any issues you may be having. For me it is a blessing that I found my GP (Dr. Richard Torrey, M.D.) at the Imperial Center Family Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. Dr Torrey combines perfect professionalism in medicine with human wisdom and warm care for his patients. Meeting him always helps me to keep my health as good as possible, and charges me with positive energy. The ICFM office can be approached easily even in rush hours, it is nice, clean and safe.

The receptionists are very friendly and supportive for arranging appointments. The nurses and the lab staff are very experienced and careful. Lab results are always accurate, and discussed in details by Dr. Torrey for explaining what they mean and what to do for keeping them good looking. I am happy with and thankful to ICFM, and personally to Dr. Torrey.
