Unfortunately I have had 4 surgeries to my left arm, fortunately I went to Midwest every time. Dr Williams, Merkley and D'Souza were all great! Did I have to wait for my scheduled appointment time? Sure did! Did it bother me? No it didn't. Why, because every appointment I went to everyone of them stayed in the room until all of my questions were answered and all my concerns were addressed.

So I realized very early on that if they are doing this with me then they are doing it with everyone of their patients so I might have to wait beyond my scheduled time! No problem, because I chose to go to Midwest. Everyone is always in a hurry these days thinking their time is more important than someone else's. Well it's not! No one ever thinks about the Dr's and their staffs time and what it takes to meet all of their patients needs.

Went here for possible fracture in my foot. Once in the room i was told they were going to take new xrays. I was taken to cast room where splint was removed, and the p/a came in right away. There was no new xrays taken. He said it was just a stress fracture and put me in a boot and said i could walk on it. They didn't want to listen to me that it was to painful to put weight on it. Was sent on my way. Couple days later went and got a second opinion and turned out I had fractured the 3rd metatarsal and was put in a cast and non weight bearing.

Go anywhere else if you can. Super long wait times for a dr to barely look at you and send you on your way without really treating anything. It a scam of a center.

10 months of torture, surgery, and being ignored and talked down to just to have my issues resolved with Aleve. I've been financially damaged by the incompetence employed here and I will never return. Enjoy the thousands you bilked. I'd rather die than ever return here, and I mean that sincerely. If anyone is considering Midwest Ortho, do not. Drive whatever distance you have to for any service offered here. Fly if you must. Ultimately, you'll save yourself grief AND money.

The care I got from Dr Gibbons, Lilly and PA Roberts was great. Shoulder and knee pain fixed.back to sports again, back pain on the way. But the person who took my call.who ultimately gave good advice about the walk in (in out with x rays in 2 hrs) was quite abrupt and could have turned people off.

My partner has been in extreme pain with her back and leg, which got worse after the shots. She has been suffering for over 2 months and asked if Dr. Bell could write her a letter for her job to accomodate her (some days are 13 hour shifts for her). She worked through battling cancer, so if she asks for help, I know she's having a difficult time. Dr. Bell, who specializes in pain management, didn't "see" a reason for accomodation, even though she has a consultation with a surgeon for an injury.

Her job was causing pain beyond her tolerance, so we visited her primary care provider after many trips to prompt care and the ER, and she quickly put her under restrictions. Even under these restrictions, she has fallen twice at work now because her leg gives out. I don't find it professional or ethical to invalidate someone's pain. She moves from our bed, to the guest bed, to the couch, and the floor multiple times a night trying to get relief.

She was in tears over frustration with her inability to get relief for weeks before the visit there, and now weeks after having visited there. I'm not writing this in a manner of complaint, rather than a plea. I truly hope you find empathy for your patients. It's disheartening when your body doesn't cooperate. She's been through a lot for her age, and the only reason you don't "see" why she needs a break is because you don't "see" her struggle.

Please be kinder. EDIT/UPDATE: She had metastatic spinal lesions as well as metastatic lesions in her hips and down her legs. She passed yesterday morning. Again, please don't invalidate pain you can't see. This incident hurts even more now knowing not only was she in pain, she was in so much more pain than anyone could have imagined.

I would not recommend Midwest Orthopedic Center. My experience was terrible. I drove over an hour for my appointment then waited another hour and half to be seen. The first thing they did was have me do x-rays. After my x-ray I waited another 30 minutes for Dr. Carmichael to come into the room. After coming in and looking at my x-rays Dr. Carmichael said I would need a procedure.

He then explained that he was leaving Midwest Orthopedic Center in a few days and starting his own practice so my options were to wait another 3 weeks for his new practice to open and make an appointment with him there, meaning he was stealing patients from Midwest Orthopedic Center/ encouraging them to leave Midwest Orthopedic and come see him at his new practice.

If I wanted to stay with Midwest Orthopedic Center then Dr. Carmichael said there was nothing, he could do for me. He was basically in and out in less than 5 minutes. I questioned why they even had me see Dr. Carmichael in the first place if he was leaving. I tried disputing the charges for the services rendered but after speaking with Midwest Orthopedic Center they decided to still charge me $130.

They did not care about the terrible experience I had! If you are thinking about going to Midwest Orthopedic Center PLEASE DON'T. Don't waste your time and money like I did! The only thing Midwest Orthopedic Center cares about is money and not their patients.

Dr. Colen gives me injections in my hip and does an amazing job. Dr. Roberts treats me for my back and he also is outstanding. Dr El Chami has also taken out an ingrown toe nail twice and is very caring.

I wish I could give 0 stars! I came through the walk-in and the lady at the front with blonde hair, want to say her name was Angela. was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. She discriminated against black people & people with public assistance. Very rude, very loud! I would rather sit in the er for 8 hours then to come to an establishment where you have employees like that.

I was in a car accident November 7th and have a broken finger from the accident. The hospital referred me to this office. I saw the doctor twice for the broken finger and was told to keep the splint on 24/7 and come back in 3 weeks for a checkup. I went to the office 3 weeks later and the people at the front desk said they would not see me because the injury was due to a car accident and payment was going through Allstate.

They said I will have to pay in full each visit AND would have to give them a deposit. I cannot pay for x-rays etc out of pocket and also give a deposit. Now I'm at the 5 week mark and still have this thing on my finger. I have called numerous times to the office, begging to have someone evaluate the healing of the broken bone. Is this even legal?

The hospital referred me, and Midwest Orthopaedic Center was made aware at that time that the injury was due to a car accident AND saw me for two visits. I don't know what to do. I'm lost.

I fell down back in October. A freind/nurse recommended Midwest Orthopedic. I got there at 2:00 had an X-ray, talked to an amazing doctor (Dr. Brad Roberts), got my first cast at 62 year old paid $175 and was out in 2 hours! Amazing!

I have seen three different doctors there for my knee. One told me he had never seen anything like my knee injury in his time as a doctor. Dr Gibbons did not listen to anything I had to say. He was horrible to talk to and literally stood in the doorway to leave as I was still trying to have a conversation about my situation. You could not pay me to see Dr Gibbons again. Also, they use a third party to handle paperwork and they charge you $30 to get it done.

I was trying to get one week LOA for work and was told it would cost $30 and the other company would use the doctor's notes (not even talk to the doctor) and it could take up to 10 days for them to return it to me.

Should be a negative rating if there was even an option. Took my wife several weeks to get an appointment. Initial visit seemed to go as expected and they requested she get an MRI to confirm / eliminate various reasons for her knee issue. After following up with results from the MRI, they informed her that they did not have anybody on site to read the MRI and that she would need to go elsewhere to have somebody read it and then was asked her preference. Chicago or Iowa City.

She mentioned Iowa City and they said they would call her back with the information. After another week and several more attempts to reach them for guidance, they told her that she could "google" another care provider. At that point my wife asked why they did an MRI in the first place if they did not have anyone to read it and second, won't another care provider want to do their own MRI (which they also confirmed was most likely going to be the case). To say they are incompetent crooks would be an understatement. DO NOT GO HERE!

This practice is the reason my parents can still walk. They were in a horrible car crash and from ER to Trauma to therapy, both received exceptional personalized care. The doctors, PAs and nursing staff are the best in the area! They are EXTREMELY ethical and do whats best for the patient NOT their pockets! They ARE NOT just looking to collect your money and send you on your way.

They were one of the first practices in the state to have a walk-in clinic for ortho. If your from Peoria you know that the ER experience at OSF or Methodist is a Nightmare. I would recommend this practice to anyone in the area. They are large and extremely busy so I can understand why some people in other reviews were upset, but if you see any specialist clinic and the waiting room is empty, you probably shouldn't be going to that one.

BEWARE Border unethical business practices in this office and very RUDE office staff. If you want to be treated with respect, go elsewhere! Note to YELP to add '0' star option. Though this practice deserves negative stars!

We have been extremely happy and very impressed with our care from Dr. Williams and all his staff! He has taken the BEST care of our son after he broke his thumb. I highly recommend Dr. Williams!

I was referred to Dr. Mulconrey for a second opinion. In my 70 years of life, this is the worst staff I have ever dealt with--combative and rude, with the worst communication skills I've ever encountered. (I developed and taught a Customer Service course for frontline staff at a large city's Trauma 1 hospital, so I do have knowledge and experience on which my comments are based.) After finally getting an appointment 3 months out, I looked forward to meeting Dr. Mulconrey, based on a couple of favorable comments I've heard about his excellent skills and pleasant personality.

I can't believe, though, that he is not aware of what new patients go through to be seen by him. The final straw happened this morning. His staff called to say that Dr. Mulconrey had reviewed my file and declined my case--NO explanation given. When I questioned why no reason was given, I was told it's usually because he doesn't think he can help a patient. This is an assumption; not a reason. After my experience with this organization, it makes me even more thankful that I am a patient in the OSF system of caregivers.

Might be the rudest & most unprofessional office staff that I've ever worked with. Not only do the other reviews speak enough truth, but it's honestly astounding that this office gets enough business to stay open. As a potential patient, you would think they could refrain from HANGING UP on me. I had some questions before becoming a patient (normal questions which other facilities were more than happy to answer, without the rudeness) like insurance questions, scheduling questions, etc. and before even letting me finish my FIRST question, whoever answered the phone transferred me to a different department (not the right department by the way).

I then called back, and she transferred me again to a direct voicemail (she obviously recognized my phone number). I had to call back LITERALLY FIVE more times before she actually answered the phone, just for her to realize that she mistakenly sent me to the wrong department. Needless to say, she was extremely rude & short for the remainder of the conversation. It's understandable if she was busy/overwhelmed, but after seeing everyone else's reviews, it's apparent that this is standard behavior for the office staff.

Very upset with the service I got with Midwest Ortho. A week ago, I was walking at work and my knee cracked and then I could no longer bear any weight at all on it. I left work and went to the walk in clinic at MWO. I saw Dr Colen after a few xrays were taken. He came in and explained I had no breaks in my knee and that I had arthritis. He offered cortisone injections and physical therapy and sent me on my way.

I got home and could barely get into my house without excruciating pain. Once I got settled on my couch, I began thinking about how arthritis doesnt present like that. I have been working in the medical field for years and I have never once heard of a patient all of the sudden not being able to walk due to arthritis. Not doubting I have arthritis, but that is not what caused this.

I then made an appointment to see my PCP for a second opinion. After my painful trip back down my steps to get in the car, I saw my PCP and she agreed arthritis did not cause the sudden pain. An MRI was ordered and scheduled. My MRI showed I had a posterior root ligament medial meniscus tear, effusion, and articular cartilage tear of lateral femoral condyle.

I have now been referred to OSF Ortho as I will not return to Midwest. I called and asked to speak to the office manager as they need to know that this was dismissed as arthritis. She did not call me back. I called later in the day and was transferred to someone else who said "oh his nurse I reviewing your MRI for trestment". 1 - I dont need to speak to a nurse as my treatment will not be completed there. 2 - this office did not order the MRI, nor did I authorize for them to obtain my results.

I felt this was very backwards to go around me to get it when I would have gladly faxed it over had I been asked. I am no longer a patient there so this was not continuity of care to get my records. After calling today, I had asked for my copay back and my insurance claim to be retracted. I was told that services were already rendered so no payment would be returned. THE SERVICES RENDERED WERE NOT CORRECT! it was a waste of my time, the staffs time and the doctors time.

As well as other patients waiting to be seen. I was also told that doctor complaints go to the the doctors so I should be getting a call from Dr Colen. Im not sure what that is supposed to accomplish. Very disappointed as my organization refers several patients a day to MWO. I will now be promoting OSF ortho as the place to go. I know OSF values and mission and they are patient first. Midwest Ortho seems to be midwest first.

I have had two miserable experiences with this group and will avoid at all costs. First I brought my son in to their 'quick care' that's supposedly the cost of a doctor visit.ended up being closer to emergency room visit. After two hours the doctor spent less than three minutes with him and I assume because it was close to lunchtime he hurried out with no home care or after care instructions.

The second visit was even more disheartening. I called with a work emergency that hadn't been treated due to holiday delays, and before any discussion was made they assumed it was workmans comp and refused treatment regardless of having full insurance personally. They're a machine not a medical practice. They're priority is money and numbers. Avoid unless you just want to be a number and dollar sign.

They do not always follow up as they say they will in terms of timeliness when calling to schedule appointments, checking in upon arrival is usually a breeze but after that it's all down hill. I had to come back in for an office visit to get results for something that I've been able to get over the phone from physicians in the past. Also expect a VERY long wait.

It has taken me several hours to get in and out of here for what was suppose to be a scheduled visit. They also break up the X-rays and MRIs into multiple appointments (I would assume to make more off the client) rather than doing them all in one appointment. I had to come in two different times for x rays when I told them where the issue was and they refused to believe me and do them in one appointment.

Same thing with MRI on my hips. Rather than doing it on both because the issue is with both. They only did one. So very frustrated that my primary care physician referred me to such a poorly managed orthopedic center. Today alone I have been sitting for two hours while writing this and have yet to see the doctor. Go somewhere else.

My walk in appointment with Midwest went very well. I appreciated everyone. It was decided that I needed an MRI. I did not have my MRI done with them for financial reasons. However after that there was a lot of frustration. 1. It took me 3 weeks and many phone calls and finally walking in with a letter to get any response to my request to adjust my prescription. 2.

Then they faxed the prescription to the wrong MRI office and it took me a couple more days to get them to fax it to the right place. 3. I had the MRI and the results were faxed to them. My legs were swollen twice their size and walking was extremely painful. I tried to walk in to see a Dr and was not able. Then I called to get a date and they didn't have one for 3 weeks. 4.

I was very frustrated and the scheduler said it sounded like I was mad at her. I explained I was not made at her but at the situation, she then hung up on me via a transfer to another department where I left a message. 5. I called another Orthopedic and they saw me the next day.

I have had exceptional care here. I initially went to their urgent care for neck pain. It took a while to get seen, but they were super nice, did x-rays, and explained everything they were seeing. The doc was great about what I should do and what to expect. I was then set up with Pt, and that has been great. They made sure I had someone who specializes in my issue and have worked with my crazy travel schedule to get in.

They were also helpful when I changed my mind and wanted something temporarily for pain. PT staff tracked down doc and assisted while i was in my appointment. two months in and I am super happy plus feeling a ton better.

We went to three Doctors for my elderly mother in law who had 8-9/10 pain in the low back area. She was not seeking narcotics. Dr. after Dr. provided no relief or treatment, instead referring her to someone else who would the take another 2-6 wks to see. All the while, her pain increased. I suspect it's possible that some Dr's dismissed the seriousness of her pain because she is elderly and felt it was par for the course.

We finally went to MOC's walk in clinic. Dr. Colen listened to her concerns and prescribed treatment to address the immediate pain. He also described a clear treatment plan if the pain didn't diminish. This was the only place to implement immediate treatment and educate me on a clear follow up plan if it didn't work. If you are having back pain that you can't find relief for, I would recommend trying this clinic.

This place deserves negative 5 stars! In the past, I received wonderful care from Dr. Mahoney. The same can not be said today. I saw Dr. D'Souza. When I got there, the desk staff, x-ray techs, and nurse were nice to me, but I did witness/overhear them being very rude/short with other patients. However, the doctor was extremely unprofessional and rude.

I waited an hour and a half in my room listening to him loudly dictated patient info at the desk outside. He walked into my room without knocking and told me in 3 minutes that he saw no broken bones, so my foot pain and swelling was probably caused by weight. He didn't go over my previous history of injury to that foot or examine anything. He didn't take the time to go over the x-rays with me either.

He just told me I was fat and I should try compression socks if my foot was swelling. I told him that I had gone to their clinic when the injury initially happened and they gave me a walking boot and told me to come back because the x-rays didn't show any breaks then either. He told me to just wear the boot whenever my foot hurt from now on then.

I argued that there are things that can't be seen on x-ray and he rolled his eyes and suggested I have an MRI scheduled if that would make me feel better. He was loudly dictating my visit at the desk when I left. I was so embarrassed and upset with the way I was treated, I don't think I'll be back, even for the MRI. This office has no intention of providing their patients with real care, despite age, size, race, or gender. Please just save your money and go elsewhere.

Seriously I am probably still in the waiting room. The Doctors are good but the entire process breaks down as soon as you enter the building.close to 2 hours waiting (with an appointment) and no line of site of this ending. Update- waiting past 2 hours.

I am very surprised to see these reviews with only 1 star. I just finished a conversation with my mother who was coming out of her visit with Dr. Colon. She was very happy with the service she received. She went on to tell me how she thought it was funny that her, my sister and a close family friend all had the same doc, Dr. Colon. I personally feel relieved to have my family see him as I live out of state and it is difficult for me to assist with medical appointments.

If I could give this place a negative star I would! The front desk and nursing staff are great but that's where it ends. The Dr.'s treated me like a number, were very unhelpful in explaining what was going and just didn't care! Oh, and forget about trying to get a copy of your record. You have to send away for it and pay! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!
