As a precaution, our office is now screening patients before they enter our San Antonio Clinic or Endoscopy Center. We will ask all patients prior to their appointments to take their temperature and notify us if it is over 100 degrees F. Also, notify us if you are experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms (fever, cough, respiratory symptoms) OR if you have been on a cruise/ traveled to a country on the CDC's travel restrictions list in the past 60 days.These precautions are for the benefit of our patients and staff.

Our clinic was established in 1970 and is one of the oldest and best established medical group practices in San Antonio. Our clinic is independently owned and operated by the eight physicians in our group. The physicians, nurses, technicians and administrative personnel at the Gastroenterology Clinic of San Antonio are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical services and care available. Our medical team is comprised of some of South Texas' most capable and knowledgeable physicians. Along with the rest of our staff, they pledge to do all they can to alleviate your stress and uncertainty while making your experience with us as comfortable and as effective as possible in addressing your medical needs.
We see patients on Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM by appointment only. New patient visits may take up to 2 hours, allowing time for checking in, collecting insurance information, seeing the doctor, scheduling tests, getting blood tests arranged, and setting your bill. We try our best to stay on time as we know your time is valuable.
An appointment is set up especially for you. Make every effort to keep your appointment as we will not re-schedule your appointment after a second "no-show" without proper notice, unless it is due to an emergency. If you are unable to keep your appointment please call this office 24 hours in advance to cancel.

The Visit of this place was absolutely professional, Great atmosphere, team work at the front and nurses, since schedule an appt, lab work and explanation about the processes. For being new patient I highly recommend Gastroenterology clinic S.A 100%. Way to go.we are very pleased with our first time visit. Looking forward to this great service for the next coming appt.

My entire experience with the Gastroenterology Clinic of San Antonio has been a horrible one. Getting someone to answer the phone to schedule a procedure is a nightmare. You can leave a voicemail, but IF you receive a call back, it will be 7+ days; this includes office personnel, schedulers and medical assistants. My endoscopy procedure went alright, the medical staff that I had assisting me that day were great, but the lack of communication, attention, and general courtesy in any other encounters is completely upsetting.
At this point, I am still pending results from a biopsy that nobody knows if I actually had or not. I will be taking my business elsewhere because I am absolutely exhausted with dealing with the clinic's lack of professionalism.

HORRIBLE! Go to another place if you can! New pts need to wait 5 days for a phone call back. Appointments scheduling is nonexistent. And if you need to schedule a colonoscopy you will be waiting forever to get a call back! 7/19 I called and spoke to exceptional employee by the name of Gloria. She is what a receptionist is! Only star there. She gets the only star I give this company.
She told me she sent the procedure scheduler for Dr Randall a message because I have left the scheduler 5 messages over the course of 4 weeks. And not once did I get a call back. She told me she will send a direct message to Dr. Randall assistant so that they may inform the doctor of the lack of common curiosity of a call back to schedule a procedure!
When I finally get a call back from Delilah i had to tell her that her attitude needed to be adjusted! I don't know what is going on there but this has been by far the worst!

I'm a colon cancer survivor and have had Crohns Disease for 36 years. I have both an illeostomy and a urostomy. I started seeing Dr Martinez nearly three years ago. He has worked diligently to find the right medication and treatments to improve the quality of my life. Each time I've been hospitalized he was there everyday to check on me and assure I had everything I needed.
His knowledge of Crohns Disease is vast and he explains things so I can understand it. Dr Martinez goes way above and beyond to ensure my health is monitored. Excellent communication always. Also a big thank you to his assistance Amanda. She is amazing and is so organized and ensures she communicates all details with me. Another big plus for me is that Dr Martinez and Amanda are just nice people. They make you feel like you are their only patient and the focus is solely on you. I highly recommend Dr Martinez to partner with you in your journey for a healthy life.

My 23 year old Son with Autism visited Dr Vizuete today. Dr Vizuete bedside manor was exceptional. He spoke directly to my son with patience and concern. He explained clearly to my son what he would do during the exam and asked permission each step of the way. I left the office with my son amazed at this doctors skill dealing with a special needs individual.

I had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Franz Zurita and he is by far the best doctor I have ever seen. His bedside manner is amazing and he figured out my condition in one visit when the gastro doctor I had in the past couldn't figure it out in two years. He is very kind, caring, and responds quick to messages on the portal. Whenever I needed an appointment quick, he did what he could to squeeze me in. Such a kind man! HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING HIM.

Dr. Vizuete was amazing! I cant speak highly enough. I was more than a little disappointed in the staff when I made an appointment for my 1st visit - and they had to call me back and reschedule. BUT my visit today more than made up for it. He was extremely polite, professional, caring, and just made me feel heard. I felt welcome and that he took me seriously.he spent 30-45+ minutes talking with me and carefully explaining our plan for testing/treatment.
Its not easy to find such good beside manner now-a-days. Then he and is MA made sure I had both their business cards to ensure I could contact them with any questions/concerns. I was/am quite nervous - so it meant a lot that he took the time to make me feel comfortable.

My experience with Dr. Martinez at GCSA was very good. He answered all my questions and ordered the necessary exams when I visited his clinic. He was always very attentive and professional. When my husband was referred to a Gastroenterologist he also visited Dr. Martinez. After reviewing all his current medical information and several tests ordered we were relieved to get good news. Dr. Martinez took the time to call him personally and made the process very pleasant.
