The physicians at Central Nebraska Orthopedics & Sports Medicine are using some of the world's most advanced orthopedic surgical procedures to help patients right here at home. The use of specific surgical procedures depends upon the patient's situation. The fact remains, however, that the availability of these advanced techniques gives you and our physicians more options in addressing your orthopedic health. This information is used by our office for an appointment, billing, and insurance purposes and by your doctor for diagnosis and evaluation purposes.
You are responsible for payment of charges for medical services provided by the clinic. Clinic personnel will gladly submit insurance claims to all major insurance carriers on your behalf. Reimbursement from the insurance carrier will be sent to the clinic, and you will be responsible only for deductibles and co-payments not paid by insurance.
Our team provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for ailments of the hand and wrist, ranging from aching joints, numbness, to deformity and dysfunction. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is very common and is caused by compression on the median nerve in the wrist. The excessive compression causes symptoms such as numbness in the hand and fingers, often waking the patient at night.
Our team provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for all ailments of the shoulder. Arthritis involves the wearing down of the cartilage (smooth bearing surface) of a joint. This may be a result of an old injury, an inflammatory condition, or simple wear and tear. In the shoulder, this is sometimes caused by a longstanding dysfunction from a chronically torn rotator cuff tendon.

Don't waste your time or money here. You will get some bs diagnosis, cortisone shot, and scheduled pt for a problem you never had. Dealt with terrible pain even after I was "treated" but I was advised to give it more time. Torn labrum and tendinitis in my left shoulder.yeah no After 8 weeks of dealing with terrible pain and constantly being prescribed medication to mask it I went and got a second opinion. Turns out it was a massive herniated disc which required an immediate surgery. And to note after getting the second opinion I was advised that nothing was wrong with my shoulder in the first place. There goes $$$ I will never get back

They are the best! Could go on and on but with my 6yr old baby girl they have went above and beyond to keep her happy as well as keepIng her arm stable and healing properly! Wouldn't go any where else! Thank you Dr. Meyer for referring us here! Dr Lemek and his nurse Candy sorry if I spelled her name wrong are amazing! Very informative and very personable! Wouldn't ask for anyone else with my kids! Thank you both can't wait to see you guys In a week!

Dr Lukens is by far the rudest Dr. I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I've worked 35 years in healthcare and was shocked at the unprofessional treatment my daughter received. We were called to come early, then ended up being seen late. This was an out of town clinic site. He never introduced himself. Did a hasty sloopy exam & told my daughter her back pain was due to poor posture. 3 days later, she was seen by a competent doctor who did a CT scan & they discover a tennis ball size tumor in her chest.she's undergone VATS, had the tumor removed. Please go anywhere else. This was the worst medical treatment ever.

My mother had injured her foot over the weekend got seen at the ER and was told to follow up with an orthopedic doctor asap. When it came to scheduling it was horrible it took them over a week to get her in even though it was an emergency. Dr. Lemek who she saw. He stated she has a minor fracture and to continue to have the boot on to speed up the healing and to follow up in 2 weeks.
He had no bedside manners once so ever. He rushed through the appointment and didn't bother to hear her concerns. After asking for a note for work as she stands for long periods of time. He refused and said: " it did not happen at work so there was no need for it." Yet she is still in pain, and can't wear a regular shoe. How is she supposed to go back to work? Needless to say I do not recommend this place at all. If it was possible I would give him a zero star!

My dad was referred here for a knee injury. They did an x-ray and said it was just arthritis. They did not listen to his concerns or even examine his knee. His knee popped, began hurting immediately and became unstable which is why he went to the doctor in the first place. We knew this was not all that it was. They gave him a cortisone steroid shot and said see you in two weeks.
We decided to get a second opinion in Kearney where they found a fracture in the joint, a torn meniscus and arthritis. He needs a total knee replacement but they can't do it for at least three months now because of the steroid shot. This place is a joke. I recommend Kearney Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.

I would recommend Dr. Sextro to anyone needing orthopedic surgery, I fell recently and damaged my right shoulder, Dr. Sextro got me in right away and did the MRI the same day. He did the surgery the next week and he was amazing. Very thorough and explained everything to me. He helped me so much and was very kind to me. He is a very busy man but he takes the time you need and friendly staff. I was called to the back within 10 minutes during appointments. Vicky McKimmey Grand Island
