I used to see Dr. V until she moved. My family was so sad, but Kim the office manager said we would love Dr. Wong, and we did. She saw every member of my family from Preteen to elderly, all with different eye issues and concerns. We are very happy with the pratice. Miss Debbie in eyeglasses is so patient as she had 2 adults and a preteen at one time time trying to find different glasses all with different tastes.

This could be an eexcellent place BUT they are always trying to sell me what I don't need. Dr Gazierccomments that I shouldn't go to my ophthalmologist, and tries to give me extra tests at extra charges. He doesn't follow the scripts for prism readers recommended by my neuro ophthalmologist and yesterday tried to replace both lenses when the script said only one lens. This is not a one time occurrence as bills have been in error too.

Really bad place and should never been there and will never be there in the future. I had chosen a pair of Silhouette frame one month ago and they said the glasses would probably be ready within 2 weeks. I waited around two weeks and called, however, they stated they needed another week, and the new glasses would come. I thought it was reasonable especially under COVID pandemic.
The worst thing happened one week later, which was three weeks already, I called, and they did not have a good attitude and finally told me their cooperation office did not have that frame in stock. Later they claimed they tried to contact the Silhouette representative but took another week to give me the answer, which was the red/black color was not sold in the USA.
I truly understand things can have back order and even do not have any stock in current situation, but the biggest problem is they should let the me know much earlier instead of waiting one month for nothing. Once I talked with them, they will always blame their cooperation office and show very bad attitude to me. I want to say, if you really care your customer, why not change to another partner to run this business. Do not know why they get higher review scores here, but highly and strongly do not recommend this place. Your and My time value and it's not worthy to waste any time there!

Although I'm happy with the eye exams themselves, I find their glasses to be way overpriced even with my "great" vision insurance. I need to repeatedly ask for my prescription which is frustrating since it should automatically be given to me. Let customers decide for themselves if they want to buy your glasses.

Eschew all others! Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care blows them out of the water. Totally amazed at the care I received at SG Eye. I actually have HOPE again that I can wear contacts. Dr. Wong offered me solutions I was looking for and no one else believed in. I'm trying contacts again - custom made (who KNEW?), made for my astigmatism. I am SO impressed with this place, the words can't express. In short, you can't do better in the DC area. RUN to them!

I have changed optometry offices over the last several years because I have not been satisfied with any of them. That all changed today. A few weeks ago, I called to schedule an appointment. I was told I should complete the patient form online and bring it to my appointment. This morning, on the day of my appointment, I received a text message an hour before my appointment instructing me to wait in my car when I arrived and to call the office. Erika answered my call and said I could come in and to knock when I was at the office.
She brought me back to do the initial intake and and the pre-exam tests. I have major anxiety when it comes to the air puff test for glaucoma. She was patient as I had a hard time keeping my eyes open as I always blink like crazy. I asked if it was ok if I lifted my lids to keep them open. That seemed to work. At one point, I actually let out a faint scream because I was startled.
Once we were done with the pre-exam she brought me to a room to wait for Dr. Vicky Wong. Dr. Wong was very thorough in explaining what she was doing during the exam, the test results, and with her recommendation since I mentioned that my eyes have been irritated and dry. She suggested that I look away from my monitor during the workday every 30 minutes and to blink.
She also gave me a prescription for Xiidra eye drops to use for six months which should help to produce real tears. I was offered a sample and discount card. Note: Allied Pharmacy is conveniently located on the same floor of the building. I had to schedule another appointment to come back to have my pupils dilated to finish the eye exam as I wouldn't be able to see very well for two hours afterwards and I had to go into the office today.
When we were done, Kim Barnhouse, the Office Manager, assisted with the payment and scheduling my next appointment. When I got home, I noticed that my state of residency on my receipt and prescription reflected MA and not MD, so I immediately called the office and Kim corrected them both, had the prescription encrypted, and emailed both files to me.
If I had any issues with receiving them, she offered to fax or mail them. Sharon Pollack assisted with adjusting a pair of sunglasses I have as the frame had gotten loose. She suggested if I leave them in the car that I shouldn't because they can get warped. She said I could come back any time to have them tightened. I can't say enough good things about the staff in the office.
They are an all-star team and the epitome of customer service. I have never experienced this level of service before from ALL the office staff. Everyone is professional, personable, and helpful. I am certainly going to recommend them to anyone who asks. This will be my long-term optometry office from this point forward.

I have been here for 3 sets of glasses now. Each time one normal and one prescription sunglasses. They offer a pretty good choice of frames. They also offer an option for a clip on reading lens so that I can still have a single vision for distance and playing sports. Maybe that is more common now but I had not seen that anywhere else. It is all a bit on the pricey side so hence 4 stars and not 5.
The technicians are all very helpful in adjusting your glasses and stuff. All the staff was friendly to me. I have seen Dr V and Dr R on all my visits. They were both very professional in my interactions with them.

Great service I've been with them for years and never had a complaint. The Staff is very friendly and always remembers me by name and even where I go to school. Update: After 9 years, still great! The team at Shady Grove Eye and Vision care is fantastic just as I remembered. I left for a while since they weren't in my network but could not wait to go back once I realized they were in my network with my new job.
I love what they did with the remodel and the staff is ad friendly and efficient as always. It had been 9 years since my last visit but there were still familiar faces in the office that still remembered me after all that time. Just a great experience overall and I'd highly recommend to anyone.

I used to love coming here, but a few years ago everything changed, the staff, the doctors, even the guy who shows you glasses, everyone is trying to sell you something! I was prescribed a contact brand I did not ask for and specifically told the doctor that I do not want. I have been using the same brand for years and have been very happy with it. now when I try to order my regular brand contact through 1800 contacts this office denies it. Very dissatisfied and will not be coming back here for my next exam!

I had to come to Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care a couple times within the past year due to issues with my eyes. I was diagnosed with dry eye last year. I don't wear contacts or glasses and I was hoping the issue would go away with time but it didn't really so I looked them up on yelp (thank you yelpers) and decided to call and make an appointment. It's a really nice facility and the staff is nice and attentive.
When you check in, there's not really much of a wait. They took really good care of me and I felt like everything was explained to me thoroughly and efficiently. I wasn't left guessing/assuming anything. I felt really comfortable in their care. They have late hours and weekend appointments as well depending on what you are coming in for. If you are looking for an eye doctor you should hit them up!

*** UPDATE *** I went for a follow-up appointment with Dr. Glazier in which He became ARROGANT, agitated, combative unprofessional a real jerk all because I stopped taking eye drops he prescribed (ALL THIS FOR DRY EYE) that weren't working. that were suppose to be on a trial basis! I have a say in what goes in my body. Doctors (GLAZIER) should never call in refills before a follow-up for trial medication (I THINK THIS IS WHY HE WAS SO PISSED OFF). Needless to say I will never go back to his practice and would not recommend anyone I know go to him either. He deserves 0

Highly professional staff, modern facilities with cutting edge treatment options for all different types of eye conditions. I always feel like I am getting the best contact lenses currently available for keratoconus patients. Quality of life has improved tremendously due to the solutions offered here. I was really impressed with the care that I got from shady Grove eye and vision. Highly recommended.

I've been coming here now for a year for my eye exams and glasses. Everyone is so friendly and professional, from the office staff, to the technicians, to the doctors. The staff does an excellent job of explaining my benefits to me when it comes time to purchases glasses, which can be confusing at best. I would tell all my friends to come here for their eye care needs.

Had been a prior patient with Dr. Rubin for years before I moved. : She was great and very through with her eye examinations. With my eye condition, she actually recommended that I not undergo lasik because of the higher possibility of increased blindness. She does great eye examinations for glasses and contacts as well as recommend special care for unique eye conditions.
When I moved, she recommended another great optometrist in my area and her office is very helpful in transferring my medical information to the new doctor! I'll miss her, but if you are lucky enough to live in the area, definitely see if she's in your medical insurance network!

It took 8 pairs of glasses and two additional eye appointments for you guys to realize that the prescription they gave my husband was missing his astigmatism. Each time we got glasses made somewhere else and they didn't work for him to see clearly we came to you guys and you checked them and said it was the right prescription. We came back in and took time off work to get his eyes rechecked you said the prescription was correct.
We then spent double the money assuming no one else could make them correctly so we got sunglasses and glasses from you all. The sunglasses finally made it in. We went to try them out they didn't work. Took more time off work for a second retry on the eye check and was told the prescription was missing his astigmatism. Still no glasses or sunglasses who knows when they will finally come in.
We have been trying to get frames done for several months we started back in June I believe. I messaged them on Facebook but heard nothing back it's been over 24 hours since I sent them a Facebook message.

Just moved to Rockville and needed a new pair of glasses, after doing a quick search on Google and Yelp I found Shady Grove Eye & Vision. They accepted my insurance so I made an appointment on their website where they let me pick three days and times that I preferred, then I was sent an email to let me know which appointment date was accepted and booked.
When I went in for the appointment I did not have to wait at all, I was seen immediately by a tech and then by the doctor. The eye exam was done by Dr. Wong who was thorough and attentive to my needs. After the exam I was helped by a very nice, helpful Optician who went through several selections of glasses to help me find the perfect pair. The optician also took me through all the different kinds of lenses and did not push me to get anything I didn't need or want, but also made sure I was getting the right lenses for my work life balance.
After everything I am very happy with my glasses and new contact lenses. I would definitely recommend Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care to anyone in the area looking for a place with a kind, efficient staff and a nice selection of eyewear.

My husband and I both see Dr. Wong and have always had a great experience. Nice office, convenient appointment times. The staff has always been friendly. And I've found them to always be clear in the paperwork when you're given the option to add on things that may not be covered by insurance, like a contact lens fitting. I do feel kind of badly they we never buy glasses there but they're so expensive compared to alternatives. But for eye and vision care I would definitely recommend this place. They are good for both adults and children, and they accept the vision insurance from my employer (VSP).

Excellent eye care, with a staff that's personable, friendly and efficient. I've come here for routine annual eye exams and have had great experiences to date. Dr. Vaziri and the rest of the staff give very thorough exams, and are great at explaining the significance of each test. All the equipment is up-to-date, and the exam feels very thorough.
The waiting room is clean and modern, and in fact, it's probably a misnomer to call it a 'waiting' room, as I've never had to wait much at all. Also, unlike some other places, Shady Grove has evening hours during the week, and is open on Saturday, so you needn't take time off from work for your exam. For me, that convenience is a big plus.
All the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. If it's possible to enjoy an eye exam, then I'd say I enjoy my exams here. I feel like my eyes are in good hands, so to speak, and plan on coming here for the foreseeable future.

I had a really poor experience here and was overcharged by more than $100 for a routine eye exam. I just wanted to select a pair of contact lenses and I've been wearing lenses for last 20 years. At the checkout; the staff claimed that I had a specialty eye exam of some sorts. Of course that wasn't mentioned before or during my exam; but only when I went to pay. The staff at the check-out was brusque and the doctor; although nice seemed to be in a rush and ignored my questions.

I've been coming here for a couple of years and within that time, I have seen about two or three different doctors. That maybe a problem for some. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. I make my appointments online and request a day and time convenient for my schedule which is usually always available. My 4 stars come from my most recent appointment Friday morning.
They would have received 5 stars had it not been for having to complete the glaucoma test (puff air test) twice due to technical difficulties with the computers not talking to one another (transferring data). First, I hate that test so to do it twice due to no fault of my own was a pain but I was fine with it, they apologized and I know, things happened.
Until I went outside, the sun hit my eyes and I had an instant headache for half of the day until I took some extra strength medication which only then did it subsided. Otherwise, my visit was pleasant. Not a long wait time. Insurance processing went smoothly and they even price match for contacts if you use your insurance for glasses and then purchase contacts out of pocket.

My husband and two kids have been going here for 6 years and we love all of the doctors. The new office is beautiful and the selection of eye glasses is great. They truly care about their patients and take time with each patient. They are also great about popping in and having glasses adjusted with no wait. Highly recommend Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care!

To be honest, I only chose this eye doctor because it was close to work. I have been wearing Biofinity (2 week) contacts forever. After my eye exam I wanted to order more Biofinity, but they said they were discontinued. Believing them, my options were 1 day contacts (which are expensive) or 1 month contacts (which destroyed my eyes). I went with the 1 month contacts and hated them after several month.
I called them and still believing that Biofinity is discontinued, I ordered the daily contacts. They charged me for the daily contacts, but I was sent monthly ones. I contacted them, and they wanted me to "stop by" and return the monthly ones and I would be sent daily ones. I'm sorry, I'm NOT going out of my way to return your mistake. After all of this mess, I simply went online and ordered Biofinity.
This was a year ago, and I literally just ordered more last week. They are definitely available, and NOT discontinued. Besides the contact situation, the front desk people have no idea what's going on. They always seem confused, and really confused when you mention insurance. After my exam I ordered contacts and grabbed several frames so I could receive prices for new glasses.
After waiting a half an hour, the guy looked at my chart and said that I used up my insurance getting the contacts and my insurance would not cover glasses. He then rushed me up and implied I wouldn't want to pay for glasses out of pocket. I was so annoyed at this part I was happy NOT giving this place additional money. There are SO MANY other eye doctors in the area, I would suggest going elsewhere. ** The owner reached out to me in case I confused which eye doctor I went to.
I guarantee you that I rated the correct eye doctor. ALSO I was told by Dr Wong that Biofinity contacts (that she claimed were discontinued) were 2 weeks contacts, when in fact they are monthly. This place is horrible**

I have been going here for a few years with Dr. Alan Glazier. He is really takes his time with his patients, asking a lot of questions to see what works best. You can tell he cares about the wellbeing of his patients. The staff here is really friendly and helpful, everyone greets you with a smile. They are amazingly on schedule, I have come to expect to wait an extra 30 minutes for all doctor appointments, but my usual wait time here has always been under 5 minutes! Parking is super easy and the office is easy to find :

Dr. Glazier and his entire staff are outstanding! I had a comprehensive eye exam with state-of-the-art technology--equipment that had never been used on me previously at other optometrists. He is smart, energetic, personable and an excellent doctor. His staff was friendly and caring and the office runs on time! Since most of his employees have been with him more than 10 years, I believe that he treats them well and as a result they all provide outstanding service to patients. I highly recommend Dr. Glazier and Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care.

Dr, Glazier did reach out to me. I choose not to respond initially so as not to go back and forth as I was upset for what I had to go through. I will provide feedback to him, as he legitimately cares for his business and this was no fault to the Doctor at all. The Doctor is an excellent Doctor, and as he mentioned these things happen. As indicated here, I will provide direct feedback, so that another customer does not have to suffer the frustration I experienced. Once again, Dr. Glazier is an excellent doctor, and this was no fault to him, hopefully he can use the feedback and fix what is broken.
