On September 1, Regional West Health Services changed its logo and its organizational structure. We've developed a new physician-led, physician-governed medical group to promote growth, quality, recruitment and outreach. We're looking to expand our campus to enhance medical care. And we are working with panhandle hospitals to ensure quality health care throughout the region.

Very disappointed in the all around service of this so called hospital! My sister was flown in over night with a brain bleed and was finally taken to surgery at 8:30 on that night. We were told that her surgery was at 4:30 when they took her down for surgery. After 4 hours we finally got a call that they were just now taking her in for surgery. I called to ask why this had happened the next day and was never given an answer. I would NEVER recommend this hospital for anyone. No communication what so ever.

First time I ever visited, took a whole year before they sent me a bill after a doctor's appointment. Next time, I had surgery (obviously a much larger bill) and they called me every week to tell me my bill was close to default, even though I had paid over half of the bill and was continuing to make payments.

I am a type one diabetic and have had it for 25 years. I came in with severe nausea and vomiting, was told I was magnesium deficient and that was it. They pumped me full of antibiotics and did not tell me why, only that everything looked good.then I asked why the antibiotics and they said it was strep. So I was kept in the dark until I asked and I feel they would not have let me know unless I did in fact ask.
They also have not been giving me insulin dosages based on my current dosage and ratios, they have been overdosing me causing my sugars to drop in the middle of the night, then I have to eat to bring them back up and I spend all night chasing sugars. This is not ok. My 25 years of being a diabetic rules over any doctors amount of time reading books about it.
I know my body and how it reacts better than they do or ever will. I've mentioned how uncomfortable I am with how they're dosing me and it hasn't changed yet. Sadly, as I write this review I am still sitting here in this hospital room waiting on answers. There is also a major communication disconnect between doctors and patients. Which is dangerous. They also lost some of my personal belongings. Won't be back, ever. Will not recommend to family and friends.

My mom was admitted on the evening of 4-18 for heart issues and high white blood cell count didn't see a doctor until the following evening 4-around 6 pm. Never found anything wrong with her then on 4-20 she was supposed to released so my wife drove the 1.5 hours missed half day of work to Scottsbluff to pick her up and had to wait over 2 hours for a release.

Every time I've come to this hospital I've been treated with top of the line care. They always make sure they provide me with all resources and help possible before sending me on my way. This last time I was seen with covid and pneumonia, and I really can't show just how much I appreciate the care I was given. They sent me home making sure I was covered. Thank you for always being reliable!

When my mother was admitted into the icu, she was immediately told by an unknown doctor and nurse pair that the care she was receiving was pointless and being wasted on her because they thought she was going to die and they told her it was okay to give up. We contacted my mother each day that she was in the hospital's care via moms own cellphone. We did this because we wanted to feel closer to her and to gain more of an understanding of her situation.
During several of these connections, we were alarmed to hear my mother's strained cries for help; she had pressed the nurse button for assistance many times as she struggled to breathe. No one came to her aid. We called the nurse station and the nurse that answered was immediately aggressive toward us for our concern, and proceeded to enter my already very frightened mother's room and YELLED at her while we were still on the phone with my mom.
We all felt so devastatingly helpless as we listened to the nurse unleash her personal frustrations on my literal helpless mother. It all happened so fast, and we were in absolute shock, otherwise we would have recorded the incident. We are greatly disappointed in their lack of organization and care during the day. But out of all the negative there were a few shinning lights: a day nurse named Stephanie that was great at giving us answers to our questions, a traveling nurse that was exceptional named Ray, and a night nurse named Jake that was truly awesome and we are tremendously grateful.
Even so, as we remember our mother, sister, and wife's final days, it is very difficult to forgive the select few medical care professionals that took away a beautiful soul's hope and scolded a fragile person in their ultimate time of need.

My brother became fatally ill after ignoring symptoms for years in NE while working. My family is alll over the place, with the ill brother being from CT. I drove in from MN, others from TX and NJ. The care and comfort that your ICU surgical team offered to my brother Jim, and to all of us, knowing we were from so far away, was far above and beyond what we could have imagined we would have received.
I am so grateful that if I had to lose my brother, it was in the hands of your compassionate and skilled staff. Thank you for making his final weeks as pleasant as they possibly could be.

I recently came to the ER TWICE with severe abdominal pain for a couple days. Spent 6 hours there only about 30 minutes of actual nurse or dr time both times. Also both times they told me that nothing was wrong. My bill was thousands of dollars for them to say nothing was wrong. Something in my blood was high but they ignored it. I did recieve a transvaginal ultrasound which they never told me it was transvaginal.
That was a very unsettling suprise. I got fed up and went to quick care. Spent less than an hour there and found out what was wrong from a simple blood test. I have a severe stomach infection that can cause serious damage and even cancer if left untreated. I'm on 3 different antibiotics and two different meds for nausea and pain. Now I have a 24k+ bill from the hospital for nothing.
Also my boyfriend last year broke his ankle. A nurse had given his iv in his upper arm near the shoulder which failed terribly. Ended up trying an iv 4 times until it was right. They also gave him an injection before the iv and wouldn't tell him what they gave him. Had a surgery which they messed up and needed another surgery after a year of pain and loss of feeling.
He constantly told them something was not right and he couldn't feel there and was in constant pain even after it healed. They told him there was nothing they could do. F this hospital.

Worst billing system ever. Used urgent care. Spent 10 minutes entering my husbands 2 insurance plans - and then informed us " oh, we dont actually bill your insurance, you will have to submit it yourself" So we evetually get the bill, and of course it doesnt gave the needed codes on it. So I call (I am my husband's POA, AND IT IS ACTUALLY MY INSURANCE HE IS ON) AND THEY REFUSE TO SEND THE EXPANDED BILL because I requested it, not him. (He is fairly incoherent much of the time with bills) They could not mail an expanded bill to the very same address that they just sent the inadequate bill to.
I get that they cant talk to me but they just sent the damn bill to that address already! Well, he manages to request it. Then when I go to pay online, none of the info. matches their system.

Had the worse experience here today September 19 2021 I had to bring my 3 month old son in because he was not doing well at all we moms know when there is something wrong with our kids. I called the hospital to get a Nurse to call me to see if I should bring my son in the lady I spoke with was very rude and short with me he hung up on me before letting me finish talking. When I did bring my son into the emergency room I was not happy with the doctor Webb she made me feel like I brought my son in for no reason and also was very short with me.

The providers and medical care have been mostly positive over the past six years I have used Regional West. However, there billing department and customer service are the worst group of people I have ever dealt with. Incompetent, rude, and unprofessional, for six years now. I don't think this is one or two people, this a systematic flaw within the hospitals management and it is not getting better.
I am blessed with fairly good health insurance and so I have never been in a position where I couldn't pay for the medical bills. But a good 75% of the time something gets screwed up with the billing. When you check into the hospital the first question is always "who's you insurance with", and then when the bill comes they forget to bill my insurance. So, I have to call billing.
Rather than just fixing the problem the answer we normally get is "You forgot to provide us your insurance" or "Call back when our supervisor isn't on lunch". The supervisor, by the way, seems to take lunch between 9 AM and 3 PM. So after calling three or four times, and they will not do business via email you have to call, they finally bill insurance.
But then we see that they double billed us for the same procedure twice and the whole process starts over again. It is not uncommon for a medical expense not to be paid until 6 to 12 months after we receive our first bill because of the sheer incompetence. I estimate that my wife and I spend at least 40 hours a year on the phone with Regional West trying to give them our money. My sincere hope is the Regional West is bought out by Banner Health or another mega hospital group to fix these reoccurring issues.

My brother spent 2 weeks in the ICU after a severe TBI. My family experienced some horrible events that will likely haunt us forever. One night in particular the nurse escalated a situation and called security. The security officers were FAR from trained of how to handle a confused patient with a TBI-one even made the comment, "I hope that prayer did something for you" after my brother fell to the floor feeling lost, confused and threatend.
He was mistreated and luckily family was in the room to advocate for his life. Horrible communication between admin, doctors and nurses. We had family in his room 24/7 because we did not trust the medical team with his care. I will never, ever recommend this hospital!

My grandmother has recently been admitted into this hospital. Unfortunately, she's had her share of unprofessional criticism faced by the nurses. They've neglected her, and have been absolutely rude to the patient beside her during her stay. It is more than concerning that this hospital is verbally combative with their patients who are already having such a difficult time.
This behavior is saddening and shouldn't be taking place at all in an environment like this. Being caring and compassionate towards your patients should always be on your list of priorities in a hospital.

Recently I was sent here by the VA to Regional West for several sets of intensive scans. These took all day (expected) and throughout the day the level of care I received here was quite good. The results were sent to my Dr. at Box Butte General Hospital without any delay, most appreciated. Some reviewers have problems with the billing department. Their reviews tend to receive back a parroted copy/paste from the public relations department, a rote reaction more than any compassionate response. Thankfully, all my billing as a veteran is out of my hands, being sent to these hospitals because I couldn't wait 4 MONTHS to have an appointment with a certified medical doctor at my VA Medical Center. Am happy with all I received from many good people at Regional West Hospital, thank you all.
