Warm, sunny weather offers the opportunity for fun outdoor activities and also, unfortunately, the potential for heat-related illness. Nearly 900 children have died in the past 25 years after being left inside vehicles that got too hot, making pediatric vehicular heatstroke a leading cause of transportation-related death for children in the United States. But it is preventable.

I was scared to death to have surgery at Washington Regional Hospital after reading the reviews. Partly because 8 months ago I had open heart bypass surgery at Mercy and the ICU nurses treated me so terribly. BUT, I did have surgery at Washington Regional Hospital on 6/1/22 and it was wonderful. All of the nurses were so kind and caring. That includes not just the nurses but the technicians all the way to housekeeping.
I am serious. It makes such a difference when someone talks nice and acts like they care. Just a hand on your shoulder or a pat on the foot can reassure you that it's going to be OK. My nurses were all like that and you could tell they were there for more reasons then a paycheck. They cared. In this day and time when it seems we see is negative about everything and everyone. I want to say thanks Washington Regional Hospital. You did make a difference for me. I APPRECIATE YOU!

It's a shame that they have the best heart doctors because their treatment of family is awful. Cardiac care has treated my husband very well but I have been treated with disrespect and disregard. You can't tell me it's right to tell a man that is having heart bypass surgery that only 1 of his 5 children can stay with his wife during his procedure.
Let me explain that 2 live out of state so only 3 were expecting to be here. This is only today's surgery there were other issues Monday in ER. I followed ambulance in and was in ER waiting asking to go back, this went on for an hour. I finally asserted myself and they let me back, only to find an empty cot and person cleaning the room. When I made enough noise someone finally assured me he was ok and that he was in surgery having his gall bladder taken out. Never got to see him until next morning and found him in a very confused and agitated state. Everything has gone down hill since.

ER experience was wonderful. Doctors and staff take excellent care of you. But, after being admitted to the 5th floor with pneumonia, the awful medical staff on the 5th floor and the worst nurse I have ever encountered in the history of my life, caused me to leave a negative review. The horrible nurse, from Wisconsin, with a thick accent, who told me she was terminated from her nursing job during the pandemic (big surprise), who moved here at the suggestion of her Aunt (thanks a lot), claimed she applied EVERYWHERE, and Washington Regional was the only place that hired her.
Maybe Washington Regional should better screen their staff. I will never return to this facility as long as I live. No one else should either if they care about their own health, and the health of their family.

After a regular visit with my OB at 36 weeks pregnant It was determined I needed to be induced, and deliver as soon as possible. It was a tricky experience that led to a C-section and I was so nervous. However, the WRMC Labor and delivery staff was SO compassionate, and kind. From the doctors who talked me through my options and the procedure, to the nurses who held my hands and comforted me the entire time.
I was well taken care of and it made a scary experience much easier. I wish I could personally tell each staff member how much we appreciated their warmth and professionalism.

I would just like to say that Johnnie from plaza imaging went up and for us. We had been given the run around from the doctors office and was so frustrated. She just happened to be the person who answered the phone and listened to our frustration with trying to get the order to them. She didn't have to but offered to take care of contacting the office getting the order and keeping us updated.
She kept us informed with what was going on and made sure the order got into the right hands even though it ended up not even being able to be done at the plaza. We are so thankful for her kind heart. This is true customer service that shows just how much she truly cares for us as the patients. Keep doing great Washington Regional! Your friendly team amazes us!

A few weeks ago I went in with cardiac concerns. After having sat in the lobby for a while I began to feel better. By the time a nurse came I told them that I had felt better and thought I could go home. The nurse (whome I followed because she told me to) ushered me back to the room. I would continue to tell the next two nurses and doctor that I felt fine and wanted to go home.
At NO POINT did anyone acknowledge me and tell me I had the option to leave, instead each staff member told me to wait in the room until someone else would come. Outside of triage, I ended up not receiving any additional medical help. And now I have a $1,000 bill despite the fact that I had refused service multiple times. After calling billing today, I was told because I didn't walk out on my own that I would be billed for the whole service.
When I explained that I had asked to leave and was told to stay, the billing department continued to gaslight me and told me I could have left on my own. In this situation I felt I had no other choice but to listen to the perceived authority of the medical professionals that were telling me to stay. And now I have to pay $1000 for having had the privilege of sitting in an ER room after I asked to leave.
It's stuff like this that makes people like me scared to go to the hospital. When your doctors and nurses insist you stay despite having asked to leave and then you get charged for that, how could you ever come to trust them. Washington Regional continues to let down their "patients" as they prioritize manipulating and gaslighting them instead

First visit in December was 5 star. The nurses on the 2nd floor were amazing. Bought them $200 in gift basket goodies. My latest visit was like being in a different hospital. A few good eggs. Jazmin, a p.m. nurses assistant fixed my TV in 2 minutes. After two days the maintenance team didn't even show up. The PM guy who drew blood (Tom, I think) hit the veins perfectly and painlessly every time. A master of his craft.

No stars earned or deserved. They wont let me post without giving them at least on star. Washington Regional failed Us miserably 4 times. They did not seem to understand the nature of ulcerative colitis. The last time, my spouse was delivered back from the rehab center 1/4 mile away as unresponsive on arrival. I kept asking for an IV while giving my spouse wet fingers he was totally dehydrated I kept asking for an IV and was told there is an IV in.
I was fairly calm at first, but just let out with It really doesn't count if it's not attached to a bag with a tube. The nurses were trying to tell me they were understaffed because it was a holiday weekend and they are ALWAYS short on Holidays and especially holiday weekends. Well Uffda! Doesn't that mean you need to schedule more for those times?
The Dr finally showed up close to 5 hours after my spouse arrived. When I quit stuttering the words that fell out of my mouth were uncensored. They were what I needed to say and the Dr needed to hear, her might not of heard them as he was real busy calling security. The worst part is that they really don't seem to care

I had surgery at Washington Regional on Feb 21, 2022.in a word fabulous. The staff was excellent and treated me like they had known me for along time! Fifth floor nurse Virginia Collins was a hoot. She took care of me as if I were her son. She would brighten the room when she would enter. Makes you feel comfortable. Thanks for great outcome and care.

I am a 63 year old male that had back surgery that consisted of spinal fusion and laminectomy. It was a very painful time in my life. The night of my surgery, the RN that was assigned to me was named Andrew. Although he had only been an RN for 6 months, you wouldn't have known it. He was attentive, direct snd professional in his care for me. The entire atmosphere of health care professionals was comforting, and at all times I felt like I was surrounded by well trained caring staff that made the entire experience as good as a person could receive anywhere. I would highly recommend WRMS for any health care needs.
