In our Ambulatory Surgery Center, we provide same-day surgical care for our patients. It's a more convenient alternative for outpatient procedures compared with hospital-based outpatient procedures. It's also easier for us to schedule procedures and apply the quality control that is needed for our ophthalmology practice. Call today to schedule an appointment.
If you are a candidate, your first step is to come in for a complete eye exam. You must be free of contact lenses for at least one week for soft contacts and at least four weeks for hard lenses before your exam. During your exam we will carefully measure your prescription before and after we dilate your eyes and examine your eyes to make sure they are healthy.
There is little or no discomfort associated with the LASIK procedure. However, your eyes may feel scratchy, and water excessively, for a few hours after surgery. Utilizing the Victus laser, a silent, tiny, laser light beam passes through the layers of the cornea to the exact depth within the corneal layers to make the flap.
The cost of LASIK eye surgery varies depending on the clinic and the type of surgery performed. Keep in mind that money spent on LASIK eye surgery is tax-deductible. At Minnesota Eye Institute, our LASIK surgery is "all-laser LASIK" meaning we use the laser for both cutting the flap and for shaping the corneal tissue to correct the vision.

Ten plus years ago, Dr. Carlson did my laser surgery. Wonderful results! Recently, he performed cataract surgery on my eyes. Amazing! He told you what would happen and how I would feel.wonderful results once again! Plus, his staff were so kind and friendly in making sure I was comfortable and satisfied. And after surgery, during that evening, Dr. Carlson called me to see if I had any questions. Now, that's service!

My husband had Lasik done and we were so amazed with results! He could see and read signs just hours after the procedure! And it's supposed to get better as healing goes on! The staff and doctor were very informative and very friendly throughout the whole thing so you always knew what was going on and what to expect! The doctor even called my husband several hours later to check in and see how things were going! I highly recommend anyone looking to do Lasik to check out this facility!

If you are looking to do Lasik, this is your place! The staff was great and Dr. Carlson made you feel so comfortable. Danielle and Danae were amazing in the operating room with letting you know what was going to happen and totally helped to comfort me! Hands down this is your place to get your eyes done! Totally would do it again!

It's just too bad u can't leave a zero after having cataract surgery my vision did not improve still same problem existed dr Carlson said live with it there nothing I can do. Of course I got a second opinion and they were able to fix the problem called back and made several attempts to talk with someone after reached a person they falsified n the vision charts to make it look like they did the right thing beware a a hack job from this guy as I see him preying ion Medicare people just for the money. Go anywhere but here

The services provided were satisfactory and the technical staff were professional. My surgery did not turn out as good as I hoped, but improved my vision and nothing unexpected there. BEWARE of their quotes. I was quoted a certain amount for cataract surgery plus an amount for drops. I paid all in full at time of service. About 5 or 6 months later, I received a bill for $540 for anesthesia.
I was not told about this prior to the surgery and was not expecting it as I thought it was included with what I paid. I dropped the bill off with the office manager and she was not helpful and told me to send an email to the doctor. I did and received no reply. A month later, I got the bill again and called the office manager again and she said she talked to the doctor about it but never bothered to call me back.
She made excuses about they can't always remember all the charges when quoting and told me I would have to pay it. They do a lot of these surgeries and should be able to give a proper quote up front. I gave her a week to get this squared away and if not, I was going to pay the bill and leave feedback describing my experience. I never heard back, so I guess a little money is more important to them than their reputation. Very poor customer service by their business department. I would give their service a high score, but their customer service from their business office a 0.
