Per CDC guidelines, masks are required to be worn in healthcare facilities AND they must be worn properly so the nose and mouth are covered. Also, employees, patients and guests will continue to be screened for illness regardless of vaccination status to protect the medically vulnerable. Thank you for your cooperation. Services
Dermatology Associates of York is a medical group practice committed to providing the very best dermatologic care to all of South Central PA and Northern MD. Seven Board-Certified Dermatologists - Board certified by either the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) or the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD).
Dermatology Associates of York is your board certified medical team to handle all your skincare needs from Acne to Skin Cancer, Psoriasis to Eczema and everything in between. Our mission is to provide the highest quality skin care to our patients. Our knowledgeable and experienced team of professionals provide expert diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care of your skin.
Modern laser technology now allows for the safe and effective removal of small spider-like veins on the nose and face called telangiectasia. Sometimes these tiny broken veins are hereditary or may be part of the skin condition known as rosacea. With Rosacea the skin of the cheeks and nose tends to flush easily making the veins appear more dramatic.
Psoriasis is a very common skin condition that affects a large number of people of any age. There is no cure for psoriasis but there are many treatments available that can help patients live normal lives. The goal of these treatments is to help alleviate the symptoms of the disease and to help prevent complications that may occur when this skin condition is left untreated.

I am appalled at the way these 'doctors' speak to clients. Agree with another review, Miriam Chesky is very rude, no manners, condescending and we won't see her again. This is dermatology, you aren't a world class surgeon, get over yourself. The medicines they deliver are very powerful and dangerous and every parent has a right to ask questions and even seek a 2nd opinion. They seem to not like this concept. So please, get past yourself and learn some people skills.

I've been here many times before and had multiple doctors. My last doctor I had was named Miriam Chesky and was the rudest of the three I had. Every visit I had with her she talked down to me and gave me attitude which I did not deserve. The month before my accutane cycle ended she gave me blood work paper and I told them before the appointment I never had time to get my blood work done but the desk lady told me to still come in. Miriam was once again extremely rude to me and told me the cycle was over and I had a feeling it was exactly true considering she gave me bloodwork paper and my skin wasn't really any better then when I started.
They then made me pay for the visit to tell me I was done. I will not be seeing this female doctor again and don't recommend her to anyone. She's completely disrespectful and rude.

I have been treated for basil cell skin cancer last several weeks and still have a way to go. Dr. Caplan, the nurses, and all staff that have helped me thru my treatments/ surgeries have all been very professional, very friendly and have answered all my questions. I would highly recommend Dermatology Associates to anyone who needs help with simple or complex skin issues. Thanks! I appreciate you all!

Extremely unhappy with the billing practices of this place. At the time of service a $123 fee was quoted and paid for services rendered AT THE TIME OF MY APPOINTMNET. 4 weeks later I get another bill in the mail with added medical codes for services that were not quoted by the physician and added onto to my account by the billing department. UNFAIR and UNPROFESSIONAL! A 10-minute office visit TO REMOVE 8 SKIN TAGS winds up costing me $432!

I'm sure they're fine for skin cancer screenings, but DO NOT go here for anything cosmetic (especially on your face). I went in to have 2 very small sebaceous bumps on my face removed which the Dr recommended a type of acid be dripped on the area for removal. However the acid ended up rolling down my face which has now scared. I realize there is potential risk of scaring around where the bumps are, but it was careless and unprofessional to allow the acid to roll down my face as far as it did. I could tell Dr was in a hurry.

A well-run, helpful, and thorough dermatology office! Everyone was kind and explained everything well from the beginning to the end of my visit. Dr. Sean and the nurse staff were polite and friendly. The procedure was painless, quick, and care instructions were explained well too. I'll be returning again and recommending this office to friends and family.

I went to Dr. Meskey. I'm Latino and as I walk in I hear "You have to see them too, you know" I'm so glad that he could see me! Great info, nice chat, no interruptions, in a few mins he diagnosed my condition. He recommended me a product, I kid you not, in less than 2 weeks it has done significant improvement. Great visit, on my way out. Huh not bad!

I too see Dr Caplan and while I can understand the nays in most of these reviews, I must say that you need to know how to "deal" with Dr Caplan. My first appointment was terrifying. I had never been to a dermatologist before and had to have 3 spots biopsied. He was curt, cold and to the point with no pleasant bed side manner and I did leave feeling like a piece of meat but it was my second appointment that made him change.
I flat out told his nurse first then I reiterated the whole thing to him. What I said was that during my first visit I did not appreciate that he did not really speak WITH me, only TO me. He did not explain what he was doing and I am the type of person who needs to know what is happening. I also told him that I need him to make small talk because it will help me relax.
He and his nurse apologized for my first experience and all of my appointments since the first (there have been about 8) have been great! I recommend him as he is a great Physician, BUT you must speak up if you aren't satisfied.

I have had acne since I was a teenager, which then came back as adult acne. Many Dermatologists in the area were booked out months, but they have a lot of staff here, and I got in within a week (I think some of the reviews here are mistaking Dermatology Associates with Wellspan Dermatology). I saw PA, Anessa Inman and she was wonderful, very personable, explained the medication I am now taking to me thoroughly.
After being on this medicine for 3 months, my skin is better than it has been since I was 13. The treatment was so quick and effective and she was able to pinpoint the problem immediately. Thanks Dr. Inman!

This facility seems to be professional, however, they don't care for their patients. just a medical mill. For example, I went for a skin cancer screening. My time with a physician was literally 3 minutes. You might think that's an exaggeration, but sadly no. And to top it off, when I asked a question about my likelihood of developing skin cancer, I was told, "you're fine" and she turned and left the room. Obviously, I'm not going there ever again.

My 12 year old had an appointment with Margetas. She did nothing I ask for when I made the appointment and had zero bed side manner. She was actually condescending. This was are first and last time here. I should've known the place wasn't any good when I walked in and there wasn't one person in the waiting room.

I go to this practice only because my insurance participates. Dr. Caplan was horrible both times I saw him. Once it was due to a scheduling error and he rushed me through and was curt and practically nasty. Cut me off in the middle of speaking, as if to say he wasn't interested. My father also had the unpleasant experience of dealing with him. Dr. Caplan was also unpleasant with them, .
My father can be a talker with the small talk, and Dr. Caplan brushed him off in a way that was downright RUDE. I happened to attend a dinner where Dr. Caplan was seated nearby, and when I saw him being pleasant to his peers and his wife I was shocked. Apparently he is actually able to be NICE! I guess he just doesn't enjoy his work, or care about the way he treats the people who keep him in business.
I was just shocked to see the difference in his personality. I could hardly believe it was the same person. I normally see Dr. Berman. He can be pleasant, but only seems interested in selling their own products. I've never been given a prescription I had to take to a pharmacy. They sell their own brand of Retin A that they keep suggesting I use.
It tried it and it never did a thing for me. I've been putting off going back because I really don't want to just be told I need to buy more of their cleanser. I hear a group in Lancaster is good and I'm seriously thinking about going there.

I am very surprised at the experience of the other yelper. Dr. Caplan was 100% professional and knowledgeable about all sorts of techniques and products available. More importantly, he was honest with me about what I needed and what I didn't. I was also impressed with his patience and caring bedside manner. He was very easy to talk to. Dr. Caplan is a perfectionist and does superlative work.
If you're doing research for the best dermatologist in the area, there's no need to continue looking - you've found the right guy! The facility is very nice. The staff was very nice and when I called the week before for an appointment, they were very accommodating with my busy schedule.

I've also experienced the unpleasant front desk and check out staff at this office on several occasions and it has made me consider switching to another Dermatologist. My daughter has an oily complexion and we asked about products that could help her deal with it until she was a little older and no longer had the problem. She already is using about $100 worth of products every three months now.
The PA offered us another product which we said we would try however on the way out to check out we realized she tried it before and while it worked initially it stopped working eventually. Since we had just left the PA and couldnt ask her directly we asked the girl at check out if there were other products and that we had forgotten while still with her that we had already used it previously.
Not only was she rude and obviously didnt want to leave her chair, she became negative and walked away. When she came back she said this is the best product and the only one out there and the only one we offer. She said it as if there was something wrong with us because we didnt like it. I asked how they received their products, if reps brought them in and that was the only product they had been asked to sell or if there were other products out there that could possibly work.
I found it hard to believe that it was the only product on the market and that it was the best. Each person is different and while something is the best for me it may not be the best for a teenager or even another person. The rest of our check out was just as enjoyable. We are supposed to go back again soon and I'm considering another dermatologist in York.
