Physical exams may now be scheduled up to December 13. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the vaccine for all kids and young adults ages 6 months to 18 years. Please call to schedule an appointment with our nurses to vaccinate your child. See our influenza page for more information.

Avoid Joann receptionist. Called to make appointment for NEW born 4 months old(4months vaccination). Receptionist Joann said there is nothing available until September (month away from now) with no other explanation. Knowing that we have been going there for 3 years with my oldest! Maple Avenue pediatrics is losing 2 patients!

We transferred over here after we felt our previous pediatrician was not listening to us. It was the best decision! All doctors and nurses are fantastic, you never wait, and they really listen to your concerns. I remember crying one appointment due to my daughters continued health issues and they were SO sweet and helpful. The front desk lady is awesome as well. I'm moving so I'll be leaving this practice and I'm really sad about it. If you are thinking about changing doctors give them a try - you won't regret it!

Dr yellin has been my kids' dr for 18 years now. She knows them as if they were her only patients! You are not just a number. She has a compassionate heart and cares for the kids as if they are her own. I recommend her highly! Kids are our most precious treasures so you only want them going to the best for their health.

We have been coming here for over 10 years and our children have been well cared for. They have been great under every circumstance with excellent referrals as needed. Yes sometimes they run late but we have experienced worse elsewhere. Some of the nursing staff can be abrupt at times and we've had a few we just outright didn't care for - but then we remember that they probably are here caring for my kids and they have to leave their kids and family in whatever state their are in behind - no matter what - so we do our best to try and understand they can't always be chipper. Bottom line - the drs. Know who our kids are they are the priority the drs always respect them and treat them well. They are a busy office and appointments are needed.

Such a disappointment! I was almost convinced that this was the practice for my family, but fortunately the doctors showed their true colors before we made the switch. More concerned about contracts and insurance than our children, this is not the place for us. The days of doctors who care about children first seem to be gone.

I have to say most of the people who work here are rude, unappreciative of our time and always keep me waiting. One of the nurses once, while giving a shot to my son he swinged his arm and he was left with the needle in and the shot was unsuccessful. At another time they forgot to give him another dose of another shot. this place is a mess. At a different occasion, I came in for a physical and the office was closed.
I assume they had no idea they were closed for the day and we had gone there already. Another time i asked for a record of all the shots my child had received and I had to call 7 times to get in touch with the nurse. : what truly made me the most upset while checking out one day the receptionist, threw a kid sticker and my credit card at me without any greeting.
I was so shocked and appalled at this i was lost for words. After this I decided that this facility is not for me and the above experienced made me switch doctors. I urge to consider different place, these nurses/receptionists, are horrible, they forget they work with kids. Please avoid at all costs. do your child a favor and avoid signing up to go there.

We love this place! My kids have been patients for years. When I was pregnant with my daughter I came to see the doctors office. I had a one on one meeting with Doctor Lewis who personally explained how the practice is run, didn't feel rushed and answered all my questions. I have no trouble making appointments within a reasonable timeframe and get sick appointments immediately, even open Saturday and Sunday.
Large fish tank in the waiting room which separates the sick from the well. They even use designated rooms for sick and well children to help avoid the spread of illness. The nurses are very nice and very calm with my children. All the doctors are very nice but I prefer Doctor Lewis. He has seen my daughter since her birth. He has exceptional bedside manor and make my kids feel relaxed right away.
He also gives me his full attention when I have questions or concerns. I do not feel rushed out the door. If I need to speak to a doc off hours I reach an answering service and my call is returned by a doctor in minutes. Highly recommend, works with Valley Hospital

My son is now almost 5 and we feel the same way as we did in our original review. The BEST staff of nurses, doctors and receptionists. Award-winning docs who are prompt, caring, insightful and put parent and child at ease. Not a bad egg in the bunch; each of the 4 docs are fabulous. We have been through a lot and Maple Ave has been there every step of the way going above and beyond before, during and after a hospitalization. Office is pristine and always taken on time, sometimes early!

There is almost never a problem getting a convenient appointment. There are four doctors, all of them are ok. However, their charges are unreasonable. A yearly physical is $460! They give hearing tests that are not needed (perhaps they are required?) and charge $80 for them (it takes a nurse a couple of minutes to do them). My insurance did not pay for a hearing test and just allowed the docs to charge the full price.
The practice has electronic medical records which one might think would be a plus. It is not. Patients are required to come 15 minutes early to fill in the records for the docs, adding to busy parental schedules. In addition one only gets a peak at the records if one pays a subscription fee! I think the subscription fee is something like $75 per year per kid.
I am also worried about infections. I had two kids go in for physicals and in both cases, one week later I take the kids in for strep infections. That could have been chance but I sometimes don't see the docs or nurses wash their hands. I also don't see them clean the laptops in between patients though I am told they do it. Note that if one cleans a laptop, cleaning the keyboard is not enough, all parts that are touched have to be cleaned.
