I originally had a really bad experience at this hospital a year ago, it was the night staff and they blew me off saying I just had gastritis and a few gallstones and I'd be fine. I was indeed not fine, I struggled for a year with stomach pains trying to figure out what was wrong until one day the pain got so intense I had to return to dmh. They redeemed themselves in my eyes ten fold.
This was all thanks to the wonderful nursing staff, from the lady's who did the car scans, to the amazing ultrasound technician I was already very pleased. Not only did they help, they believe me when I said I was in horrible pain, and were sympathetic and caring. I gotta give the biggest shout-out to the best ER Dr I've ever come across, Dr. Pita!
He is kind, caring, and efficient at his job. He's the guy you wanna see. Just one week after seeing them and I'm scheduled for surgery to get my gallbladder removed. All around good experience with this hospital, Dr. Pita, and the staff.

I took my 87 yr old mom in to this hospital. My mother can not walk- she was laying in the hospital bed and stated to both nurses that, she had to go pee-pee. They both acknowledged and did nothing, within 10 minutes my mother wet the bed -they then brought in a toilet bucket seat which was obviously too late -they both looked at each other and left the room leaving my mother laying in urine, After 30 minutes I took care of my mom.
I washed her -cleaned her and put on clean clothes. I mentioned this to one of the nurses that came back in there and her response was. We'll! we would of help you if we had known. ( Uncaring and liars) human beings have no place to be in this profession. She acted as if it was beneath her. My mother needed help -With the role of there eyes looking at each other And left the room- I was completely disgusted.

15yrs ago Last time I took my child to this place they tried to take her bloodpresser with an adult arm wrape when I complained they said they dont have child arm wraps I told the nurse to keep digging and the other nurse said we should leave that moment we started gathering our stuff and then she found the child arm wrape to take the blood pressure.
I hope their staff now are equipped and trained better today and for now on being an embarrassment is not good. I have yet to go their since. I once lived in tatterhillbluff. Remember education is important.

PLEASE take your loved one somewhere else! They gave my grandfather who has passed SEPSIS from not cleaning or changing IV needles AND now my sister is at Sarasota hospital with the SAME PROBLEM! She almost died she has sepsis and they said it was from the Arcadia Hospital not cleaning and changing their needles. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. WE ARE DONE WITH THIS HOSPITAL.

I was working out of town and there were no urgent care facilities to do lab work for me. I hated to take up emergency room space but i needed a diagnosis and perscription, so i went to DeSoto Memorial Hospital. Fabulous staff from triage nurse to dtr to check out person. What an asset all of those people are to the hospital and to the people who need care. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

The Physical Therapy office here is the best. Reid and the other physical therapists really helped me out. I also come here for lab work and the ladies in Registration and the ladies in the Lab are all wonderful. Very kind and helpful and take their time in making sure you feel more than just another patient. Definitely recommend.

Have to give a shout out to DeSoto Memorial Hospital and their handling of Covid 19 vaccinations. So easy. you call in, leave your name phone number and identifying info. They call you back a couple of days later with a date and time for your vaccination. You show up, no waiting. They check you in, and give you the vaccination along with your return appointment after 28 days.
They then have you wait fifteen minutes to be sure there's no reaction to the vaccine and Voila! your on your way home! Easy, smooth, efficient, and on top of it, a wonderful professional group of people at DeSoto Memorial Hospital.
