Dr. Rory Trottier has been serving Grand Forks and the surrounding communities for over 20 years. He and his wife Kerry founded Northern Valley OBGYN to bring quality healthcare to women of all ages in an environment where individual attention to patients was the most important thing. Northern Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology is the only independent OBGYN office in the Grand Forks and Northeastern North Dakota region with no affiliation to any other clinics.A lifelong North Dakotan, Dr. Trottier grew up in Belcourt and received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota.
Our staff treats all our patients with compassion and will be here for you every step of the way leading up to your child's birth. The images are sent directly to your phone to share with family and friends. Dr. Trottier has over 25 years of experience in normal and high-risk obstetrics. We want your first visit to Northern Valley OBGYN to be a pleasant and easy experience. Please bring a copy of your insurance card, along with your guarantor's date of birth, address, and phone number, if necessary. Be sure you're able to pay any copay required by your insurance provider. For any patient age 18 years or younger, a parent or guardian must accompany them to an appointment to sign off on any paperwork required. Our clinic accepts most insurance providers; please call to verify yours is one of them.

Not a huge fan of Dr. Trottier mostly because he calls me "kiddo" (I'm 23) and has little things he does to make me feel weird like entering the room without knocking, squeezing my shoulder as he enters the room, and reminding me he's been doing his job for years if I ask too many questions about why he's come to certain decisions. I will have to discuss this with him in my next appointment, otherwise he'll continue making me uncomfortable without realizing.

All the staff and doctors are amazing here! They are so friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable! You get front row parking every time and you don't have to worry about some random doctor delivering for you - you have only 2 that have the possibility and they both are so great! Thank you for your great services!

Great OB care! Trottier is amazing and really knows his stuff. Hes incredibly kind and comfortable to have with vaginal care. The staff is amazingly friendly and the ultrasound tech is incredibly respectful to you and makes sure you're comfortable. Fantastic place for obgyn care. I'll never go anywhere else. Once you're a patient, you are family!

I would give this office zero stars if I could. My wife has been going to Northern Valley to Dr. Trottier since she became pregnant 5 months ago. We did not know what the standard for prenatal care was so we were unaware of how poor and low a standard of care we were receiving here. They do not listen to fetal heart tones or check on the baby with each monthly check up.
In 5 months we only heard the heart beat once. Each time we come in they ask my wife again what is her due date & how far along she is as if they don't know. They have never measured my wife's belly before, as they should be doing on every visit. My wife got sick and went in for a check up and no one listened to the baby's heart beat again or did anything to check and make sure while she was sick that the baby was not distressed.
They've never palpated my wife's belly either. You have the opportunity to go anywhere you choose and I must sincerely stress that you do not choose Valley Northern. You are putting yourself and your child at risk by going here.
