Norco began in 1948 as the welding supply division of the Nordling Auto Parts Company, in Boise, Idaho. In 1968, Larry Kissler, who had served as the regional manager of 11 eastern states at Linde's New England facility in Sudbury, Massachusetts, headed west with his four children and his wife Fran to purchase Norco. When the Kissler family arrived, Norco had two locations, in Boise and Twin Falls, Idaho, and 15 total employees. Dan Steele came on board as employee number 16.

Together Kissler and Steele, who held positions as general manager and ultimately company president, expanded the business by acquiring other welding supply distributorships in the Intermountain West region.

I need to break myself of the habit of reviewing a business when I'm angry. I admit that I misjudged this place, but my review was noticed and the situation has been rectified. Long story short, I was upset b/c I made a long drive to the office yesterday to see about some supplies that never arrived and I wasn't able to get any help. Today I got a call from the manager (and even though I asked for her name I have completely forgotten it, so my apologizes) who said that she found my file and is going to contact me via email regarding my order.

Apparently there was a miscommunication (on my end). She did apologize for not returning my calls and I'm not great about returning calls either, so I do understand. That being said, I really appreciated the time she took to call and I feel better about the place. Actually I have been here several times and have never 'really' had bad service. It's just that it's pretty out of the way from my home and I was just frustrated.

I noticed the other one star reviews and I wonder if those people posted in frustration as well. It is nice to know that these reviews really are taken seriously and that the company does care.

My brother was suddenly injured in a motorcycle accident and overnight we were tasked with moving him in with my Dad and getting a lot of heavy duty medical equipment to include a bed and lift. We were connected with Norco through Harborview in Seattle and the service was quick and easy. Joseph came to Oak Harbor to deliver and set up the bed and he was so incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. Lisa who I spoke with over the phone was also extremely kind and helpful.

They arrived when they said they would and were more than willing to answer any questions on how to use the equipment. Highly recommend these guys for their quick and friendly service.

Excellent experience with Norco. Will showed up on time and had gloves and a mask on (we really appreciated that since our family had medical issues going on) and he even took his shoes off at the door. He kindly introduced himself and professionally explained all the equipment to us step-by-step and demonstrated all the functions. He really went above and beyond to ensure all of our questions were answered and that we were comfortable with the new equipment. The entire family was impressed with Norco's service, especially because of Will.

The service here is terrible. They have no operator or receptionist. You have to wait for someone that does not have a clue. I have asked Norco not to send a replacement machine 5 times but they are sending it anyway. Mine is under recall. Since I cannot stand the noise or the feeling of forced air I do not want one. i want my money back and the seller always pasts the blame onto the manufacturer.

They never answer the phone and their email says do not reply. this is the poorest operation I have seen in years. If I do not get some service. I am going to turn the into the AG and Get Jessie so they will be on the news. I have been on hold for 30 minutes and no one has answered the phone. This is the worst service. No support rep has ever spoken to me. Medicare will not cover this and they are supposed to.

Staff at store when I have called, as well as James, Will and John (delivery guys) have been exceptionally helpful and explained/demonstrated everything. I'm impressed!

Overall very good service. We switched to Norco for ResMed CPAPs after the defective Philips Respironics recall. Amanda, the CPAP person, has been great! UPDATE: Amanda has moved on so we now deal with Lisa, who's proven even easier to deal with and more helpful with our questions.

If i can give no stars I will. This place is terrible. I had an ankle operations in Everett. This place sent a wheelchair because I was supposed to rent one since I will not be mobile for awhile. The wheelchair is really bulky and wide to the point, I was not able to use them in my tiny home. The wheelchair is wider than your door frame! How can I benefit from the wheelchair?

Best of all, I received 2 medical insurance claims. They charged me the wheelchair rental and an extra for the "extra-wide" wheelchair seat as "manual accessory". I did not ask for an extra wide seat. It was shovelled into my hands and they demand additional payment. I tried speaking to them, they pushed the blame to the insurance claiming that is how insurance companies want them to file the charges. I don't think that is how honest businesses are run.

Today Mr. John Horton a Route Manager for Norco out of Bellingham, WA, delivered medical supplies to our father-in-law Lynn W. John was professional, intelligent and genial. He was extremely helpful and patient when explaining how the equipment operated. John compassion and caring truly made this difficult time for our family easier to deal with.

So, I get a CPAP unit from them 6 years ago. No problems with the machine but now it is defective and under recall. Norco never told me. They have all my info, right? So when I call them they tell me that I can not get another machine UNLESS I was a new customer. So what do I do now? My insurance said to use Norco but Norco won't help me. What a scam if I ever saw one.

Just visiting from another state, my oxygen machine broke down. I am a customer of Norco in my home state and I was happy to find a branch located in this area! I called them and explained my situation. I received a return call from their driver, John. He explained that he had 3 more stops to make and he was a couple hours away (it was already after 5). John drove all the way to where I am staying and delivered a replacement concentrator, plus some bottles for portable or emergency and was here by 8pm.

I was very impressed by John. He was patient, kind, courteous and very knowledgeable, but most of all he was genuine and really cared about his customers. John showed that he was one of those people that just make life better for others. Way to go Norco and John! 5+++ stars!

This was a great experience at the Bellingham office of Norco, from the very nice lady on the phone to John the incredibly understanding serviceman. I can barely change a light bulb & I was terrified to be responsible for my husbands oxygen care. John was knowledgeable & helped me until I felt comfortable. For once the VA got it right by choosing this company to assist the Vets! Johns a great asset to Norco, hang on to him! Dee Lucero, Oak Harbor Wa.

I've had to call them multiple times to check the status of the equipment that I ordered from them. They've never called me back when they said they would. They also seem to always be confused on what to do. I get the impression that they don't care about what they do or the people they serve. I would not recommend them.

Bellingham Norco just saved us big time. They have been so quick to come out and help. My husband is almost completely bed bound and at 62 being his caregiver means a fully functioning bed is essential to this old back. I owe a huge thankyou to Sara and her team for their prompt and thorough service especially these last 2 weeks. And a very special thankyou to John for his kindness, patience and his talent for problem solving. So grateful.

KENDRA VIIG Has been such a professional for the past three years with my CPAP supplies and in keeping me informed as to any unusual patterns with my CPAP. Her knowledge of the products and suggestions has made me so thankful of her. Her smile, and her willingness to help is commendable. Being able to email questions or ordering supplies is great.

I receive the supplies rapidly. The lady who is the receptionist (sorry I forgot her name) always has a smile and recognizes the regular customers and very helpful. These two ladies make going to NORCO always a pleasure. Thanks for hiring these two very competent people! Sam Cheyne

I ordered some equipment and had questions when it was delivered. When I called, I had the great good fortune to end up with Rick as my customer service rep. Rick was thorough, personable, pleasant, and got my order sorted out quickly. My life would be so much easier if all companies had as competent and helpful representatives! Thank you Rick, and thank you Norco for the excellent customer service!

I needed to get a nebulizer for my mom ASAP. She is on a nebulizer four times a day. The one she had broke that morning. It was purchased online because it seemed going through insurance would be tedious. I was wrong about the hassle - the staff at Norco made the process very easy. In fact once the doctor faxed over the order and chart notes I was able to get the machine in about 45 minutes. My mom would have ended up in the hospital again because of her COPD if I did not get this nebulizer. Thank you Norco staff.

Everything was a problem to the office lady snappy from questions to SHOUTING at me "were prescription only" as I had one from my doctor. making me feel beyond unwelcomed. Worst part was another lady tried to assist the line and she told her " take your 10 I got it handled" then proceeded to neglect the rest of the line. And went on how shes the control freak "owner".

Actually, the above description doesn't fit either (I have not experienced better). We were so happy to dump APRIA because of their incompetency & lack of service, for Nordco in Everett. Apparently its an employee owned business. We made an apptmt, couldn't get in because no stairs plus construction, until my husband drove on the sidewalk to park! Had to wait 30 min. at least, but finally got help from Debby who was very helpful.

Somehow that changed, as we've been leaving calls for her to call us back re our order and the operator just says: I'll have her call you first thing tomorrow. Rolling eyes. Haven't had a return call yet. I swear I wish there was competition in this area, so many people need these products. I'm left very disappointed with Nordco in Everett. Please, Nordco, be the company we can rely on!

Update to my initial experience: the same day (Friday) I received a call from Diana from Norco Medical who left a voicemail apologizing for my experience, and offered to ship or deliver my pump once it was back in stock. I called back today (the following Monday), and spoke with Diana who was very sincere and truly demonstrated a desire to make this situation right.

She empathized with the issues that I had regarding parking and getting to the facility due to some significant construction on the surrounding streets. Diana made arrangements to ship my pump to me, and even called back to say that she had decided that they would drop off the pump today to ensure that I would get it as soon as possible. My pump was delivered to my house by 5:30pm the same day.

While there are some opportunities to improve this process to ensure a better experience for their clients, I must say that I have not experienced better service recovery efforts in this industry.

This is one of the worst companies to try to get a prescription filled. If you're not spending thousands of dollars each month with norco they will not even bother with you. This is a terrible company I wouldn't recommend it to anybody if you can find anywhere else to go please go there you'll be a lot happier. That's my opinion of this business. Unprofessional people working down there rude.

When you go to pick something up and they're too busy for you they will just leave you sitting in their office. If you can go anywhere else my recommendation is to go do not use Norco for anything. Just my opinion

My husband went to pick me up a nebulizer mask which costs 3 dollars and was turned away because we did not have a prescription. I'm able to buy a nebulizer machine online with no medical documentation but here they wont do it unless they can gouge an insurance company. I did not want to wait several days for something I need today. Ny mask broke unexpectedly.

Another medical supply place did it just down the road. Since it's legal to sell it without prescription they CHOOSE to not serve public customers. I got a prescription from my doc just now and will always use the other company.

I had a super experience with Norco recently. I was there to discuss my existing c-pap machine and receive some updated equipment. Everything was explained to me so thoroughly and patiently that it was completely understood. I was also told what and when to expect new equipment. As I waited, I overheard employees on the phone who were just as polite and kind.

I even mentioned my awesome experience to my sleep doctor and he was pleased. I am so glad Norco is my go to supplier for c-pap equipment. I couldn't ask for better care.

Upped Norco to 3 stars, as we finally received the okay to purchase the CPAP machine. But it was not an easy road with Norco, not terrible customer service, but not wonderful either.somewhere between "needs improvement" and "mediocre".

Poor customer service. Missed an appointment because no one gave me the address nor a phone number for them. No follow up call or letter to confirm the appointment. I had no idea where I was supposed to go at noon today. The worst part is that it took 5 months to get the CPAP machine for my 5 year old.

I am very, very unhappy with this place- to the point of switching supply providers. However I'm stuck with Norco for my cpap for a while longer. I was unable to use my cpap mask because it caused me pain and I requested a recommendation for another one. It took about TWO WEEKS for them to get back to me with alternatives meanwhile I could not use my mask.

So what did they do? THEY BILLED ME $110 for non-compliance. I am disabled and unable to work. I do not have $110 to spend. Even though they promised they would warn me before billing they did not. The billing department claims there is "nothing" they can do. I am disgusted by this company's naked greed. They should be ashamed of themselves.

No reasonable parking available, lobby reeks of urine and customer service very lacking. Went to pick up my new cpap machine that they told me would be ready after 4pm. After waiting in line for 30 min to be seen, was surprised to learn my machine wasn't ready as promised. Waited another 10 min and it was ready to go. Lady at front desk seemed nice enough, but surprised me by stating I needed to pay $27 today for my modem and provide her with a credit card to put on file for my monthly rental fees. Monthly rental fees?!

Since I'm covered by multiple "Cadillac" insurance plans, not used to paying any copay, and was under the impression that the new machine was to be purchased by my insurance to replace my 8 year old machine, I asked the nice lady if she could explain the copay as well as the need to put my card on file for monthly rental charges. Reasonable request, so I thought, but she immediately elevated my questions to her supervisor. Weird After waiting another 5 minutes, her supervisor approached me with a very over caffeinated, aggressive demeanor.

I politely asked if she could explain the charges/need to put my credit card on file, and why this was the first time I'd heard any of this. She said "Look, you are obviously lacking sleep and can use this new machine more than you realize. Just give me your credit card and we will get you on your way." I reminded her that she wasn't my doctor and would appreciate it if she would leave the medical advice to the professionals.

She reminded me of her right to refuse service, at which time I took my card from her hand and got the heck out of dodge. I've got much better things to do with my precious time and much more professional establishments I'd rather direct my hard earned insurance benefits and resources to. Im a disabled combat vet and a successful people manager.

I won't put up with such poor customer service and complete lack of respect from any business that expects to receive my resources, especially a DME provider who should be expected to have at least an ounce of compassion. I will gladly take my business elsewhere and strongly suggest that you do too.

A medical supply company is not something you generally look to Yelp to find, or to schedule something to make your entertainment complete, however I want to give credit where it is due. I visited he Everett Norco location after being diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. My treatment included a COAP machine supplied by Norco. Rather than billing insurance and getting me out the door, I was scheduled to attend a class to learn about my machine. Rob lead the class which included about 10 other people.

While presenting informative details, he and the others helped to address each persons questions with accuracy and respect. We each demonstrated opening and adjusting seals and functions on our machine. Each machine was preset with our individual Rx. We all left knowing how to get the most out of our treatment, armed with details and an offer to call in if we had any questions emerge later. Kudos to Rob and the staff at Norco, as the efficiency and professionalism were more than I expected. While it don't wish my diagnosis on anyone, if you happen to need service, this location can certainly put you in good hands.
