Meredyth Surgery Center is located directly above Berg Eye Center on the Meredyth Place Medical Campus. This facility has the distinction of AAAHC Accreditation since 2006, which is an endorsement of the highest quality of care. Among the type of eye surgeries performed are: Cataract, Lens Implants, Glaucoma, Corneal procedures and Occuloplastic procedures.
Dr. Berg is the first fellowship trained corneal surgeon in Southwest Georgia. A native Albanian, Dr. Berg joined his father's practice in 1984 and has developed one of the largest and most successful surgical practices in the state. Dr. Berg has performed more than 25,000 cataract operations, providing patients with the safest and most effective surgical techniques available.
People suffering from cataracts may experience sensitivity to light, blurred vision, double vision, the inability to see in dim light, vision loss or seeing halos around light. When it interferes with usual activities, the cloudy lens can be replaced with a clear, artificial lens implant. WARNING: On my visit there in Feb., the billing lady (Tina) did NOT contact my insurance company but demanded that I pay them in full not the co-pays. Well, I paid them and they refuse to file my insurance and told me that I should. When I contacted the insurance company, we called Berg's (Tina) & she angrily filed my claim in March. When my insurance company paid them, I received 2 of my checks in April & the 3rd check has not appeared. Tina stopped taking my phone calls.she was at lunch, sick, leave a msg. Then, I was informed by the receptionist Sandy that I must wait a month (May) before they could issue me another check.
I contacted my insurance company and we discovered that Berg's Tina filed the claim WRONG. I was due more money and the claim had to be reprocessed. My issues have not been resolved.still waiting.
