Kay & Tabas Opthalmology Associates - Michael L Kay

Dr Tabas performed my dual cataract surgery several years ago. It dramatically improved my vision. I went from being super near-sighted, to needing glasses only for reading. Their annual exam is very thorough, and they explain the rationale for the tests they perform. I would highly recommend them. The practice accepts most major insurances.

Rude staff. They act like you are supposed to be grateful to see a doctor. Each time I have gone here I have waited hours for something I have never waited more than 15 minutes for. Additionally, I have a PPO with very low copays, but my last visit here which lasted 10 minutes with the doctor and almost two hours in the waiting room cost me over $200.

I could go on, but I don't have time at the moment. I may update this review later to explain the additional reasons I will never return here, and advise you to look elsewhere.

Quick appointments with little thought put into treatment. Made it seem like they are rushing you out and do not plan follow up appointments hoping you don't come back and load their schedule. Worst opthomologist I've been to in 15 years of treating my condition.

Even if you are an established patient, very difficult to get an appointment to address an emerging issue, even if you are in pain. Office staff is rude and condescending and tells you that they have to check with your doctor to see if they are "allowed" to give you an appointment prior to your next scheduled appt., even if that is six mos. away. Messages left on the patient portal to your physician are not responded to by the doctor.

You are contacted by a tech who speaks for the doctor, and then runs it by the doctor, often resulting in discrepant information and being condescendingly 'managed' by techs. The doctor by whom I was examined failed to notice or express any signs of conjunctival abnormalities which were resulting in significant discomfort for me. Couldn't get a second appt. or prescription for eye drops to address the issue.

I finally made an appt. with a cornea specialist at Wills who addressed all of my issues thoroughly and with a great deal of empathy for my condition, as opposed to the dismissive manner with which condition had been handled at Kay, Tabas, Niknam, and Didiminico Associates.

Dr DiDomenico is outstanding. Extremely thorough and very careful to understand reasons for any complications post surgery, no quick guesses, decisions based on in office testing done quickly on the spot. Cant imagine you would find a better opthalmologist/surgeon. As noted by others, wait times in the office can be a bit long, but its well worth the wait. Office staff / techs are also very thorough/ precise, professional / well-trained

Dr. Tabas is one of the best (and nicest) cataract surgeons in the area. She really changed my life and made me a better driver as well. I can't say enough good things about her and her work!

I am a patient of Dr. Michael Kay. My experience could not have been better. I had cataract surgery at the age of 60 and again at the age of 68. I have been a patient for over 50 years and hope to be able to continue withe Dr Kay for years to come. Those who assist in the office are excellent and the office continually displays the real essence of teamwork. My experience at Kay Tabas Opthamology could not be better.

Dr. Rachel Niknam is very helpful and patient. She helped me out with my eye illnesses and more. The technicians here are very friendly too. Would definitely recommend

Dr Di is the best doctor ever. I've been wearing glasses for over 45 years. NOT ANYMORE I now see 20/20. This is the absolute truth. Dr. Di performed cataract surgery on both eyes. I no longer need glasses, not even readers. She is the best in her field. In addition she's kind and take a real interest in the healing process. I recommend her to everyone.

I have been to far too many doctors visits and the truth is.this was the most professional office I have ever visited. The front desk personnel are very helpful The eye care personnel are knowledgeable caring and professional Carmen who schedules the surgeries is phenomenal. And lastly but not least Dr DiDomenico is a dynamo. she is awesome! She advised me on what choices I should make about my cataract surgery.

I listened and the result is I now have 20/20 vision without any corrective lenses! She is the absolute best! As testimony to this I was referred to her by Wills Eye Hospital that is very telling info about her abilities. Thank you Dr D.

After waiting in the waiting room for extended amounts of time, I was shuffled from room to room for different tests.then finally after waiting again in the waiting room, I got to meet with the doctor. I found her bedside manner to be extremely rude and condescending. She did not explain what she was doing as she did it - she just rattled off numbers and comments for her assistant to transcribe. Her attitude was quiet off-putting to me and I would not go back or refer her to anyone. I will seek another doctor for further follow up and treatment.

I found these doctors by google and who took my keystone insurance. Let me say how glad I am to have found them. Absolutely the best care you can imagine. I have some serious eye problems and the doctors are top notch and I always feel that I am getting the best available treatment and the doctors are really concerned for my well being. Highly recommended.

I have always had a great experience. Dr. Mailman is the best eye doctor. She takes to explain your situation. All the techs and front desk ladies are very considerate and concerned.

Who are those people who left good reviews for this place? do yourself a HUGE favor and avoid this place at all costs. The wait time on the phone is unreal (you end up hanging up because they never actually answer), I can't even get a hold of them to fix my prescription who was assessed by a STUDENT, I saw the ophthalmologist for 2 minutes at the end of my appointment.

They messed up my contact prescription, glasses prescription and now I can't even get a hold of them to fix it. Trust me you really don't want to go to this place. There are so many other GOOD places, I moved so I had to switch ophthalmologists. Trust me, I wish I would have done better research, almost $400 later here I am. Will try to continue calling (I've made 4 attempts so far) to get my issues fixed because I paid for a service that I did not receive.

I think Judy and Denise at the front desk make all the difference in the world it's often difficult and stressful with anything to do with your eyes these to keep you calm as amused at all times the entire staff is very helpful very kind and very patient I love Dr. Dedomenico She is my doctor and I have complete confidence and faith in her just completed very successful cataract surgeries

My appointment was at 10:45am it took until 12:15 to see the doctor for a follow up visit. no one offered an excuse! It would be better if someone on the staff would have come and informed me of the doctor's over scheduling due to short staffing. The receptionist is nice. The other staff members act as though they are better than anyone else. I only hope that the other staff members get to experience the same condescending behavior!

Dr Kristin Di Domenico is a cataract specialist with this practice. She is a skilled surgeon and wonderful human. Scheduling is easy. She also sees cataract patients at Schneider Eye in Norristown. Surgery is at the Mainline Surgery Center near this office in Bala. Excellent experience. So pleased with my new Symfony multifocal lenses. I don't need glasses or readers!

My wife and I have used The Kay-Tabas practice for years. Both Drs. are excellent and personable. The office is well run and efficient. From exams and regular treatment to surgeries we have total confidence in this practice. Their support staff is caring and competent. A calm, tension free environment compliments a great medical team.

I have been a patient of Dr. Janine Tabas, and her staff, for as long as I can remember. I leave each visit feeling so grateful that I am fortunate enough to be seen by the very best! Dr. Tabas is professional, caring, and brilliant. She is not an alarmist, and only instills the utmost confidence with her care. When Dr. Tabas told be recently that it was time for me to have cataract surgery, I trusted her implicitly.

The entire experience of that procedure, and its subsequent outcome was perfect, and I could not be more pleased with the results. Starting with the gracious and efficient receptionist Judy, the entire staff at Kay, Tabas & Niknam Ophthalmology Associates are friendly, courteous and genuine with their caring. Both of my adult children are also patients of Dr. Tabas, and I continue to recommend her to all of my relatives and friends whom may require care for their vision. I have been going to Kay, Tabas & Niknam for well over 10 years for treatment and monitoring of my Glaucoma. My experience with the entire office staff and all doctors has been nothing less than fantastic. Special kudos to their technical Derrick who practical runs the office and is very attentive to my special requests. I always feel like I am getting the best possible care and attention for my needs.

My time spent in the office is always kept to a minimum and I've never had any issues with insurances, getting prescriptions renewed, scheduling appointments or special requests. Dr. Niknam is my primary doctor, who recently performed double cataract removal with replacement IOLs (Interocular Lenses) and cannot be happier with the outcome which is amazing. It truly has reassured me about how great healthcare can be in this country and has changed the quality of my everyday life. Highly recommended!

High pressure in the eyes is always a cause for concern, and not having insurance is an issue. But, Kay, Tabas & Niknam welcomed us with open arms, and provided us with professional evaluation and treatment at an affordable price. All our fears were put to rest by the exceptional treatment provided by the staff, and Dr. Niknam. We were kept fully informed during the entire visit, and the staff went out of their way to attend to our every need.

Every effort was taken to provide us with discount opportunities that would assist us in getting the vital treatment and evaluation needed to address the situation. If you are looking for treatment by a professional ophthalmology group who maintains high standards of treatment for all patients, then I recommend Kay, Tabas & Niknam.
