Memorial Hospital of Converse County's rich history starts like many hospitals of the Old West-out of desperation. In the late 1800s, Douglas, Wyoming, was the end of the line for the railroad. Prospectors, land men, and immigrants all found themselves departing the train in Douglas, looking for a new life or for alternative routes through the West.
At Memorial Hospital of Converse County, our mission is "To Deliver Excellent Care with Compassion." A statement we don't take lightly. We have invested millions in the latest technologies to help ensure our patients have access to the most advanced treatments in the region. We continue to work with our employees to develop and build a culture of personal responsibility and focus on our organizational values of compassion, competency, ownership, joy, respect, integrity, and patient-centeredness.We recognize every person as a whole human being with different needs that must be met through listening, empathizing and nurturing.
Quality can mean many things to many people and is usually described as an attribute or a property. In healthcare, quality refers to the extent to which healthcare services are provided to individuals and patient populations to improve health outcomes. The role of quality management at Memorial Hospital is to support the healthcare team as they continually strive to improve their processes of healthcare delivery.

My 7yr old daughter had surgery there to remove her pins from a broken arm. The staff was amazing with our family. The check in was fast and we did not wait long before going right back to our room. The OR staff and surgery center nurses were so sweet and accommodating to our daughter. The OR nurses even took care of our daughters doll so they both had pretty pink casts on! Great experience for my daughter she came home with a smile and I am a grateful mother.

My family loves Dr Skuza, the pediatrician. You can tell she's extremely smart, but her bedside manner is really down to earth and compassionate. My kids always look forward to seeing her!

This review is highlighting a few specific people with MHCC:) This first one if for Doctor Kathryn Skuza, Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, Pediatrics. My 1 year old son developed a lump right below his right ear and it increased in size over the course of a few weeks to a month. During this time our normal family doctor was unavailable, but Dr Skuza stepped in and went above and beyond taking care of our little boy.

She not only helped to treat his lump but offered great insight for his Exzema. She truly cared about him and making sure we always understood what options were available to us to help him through care she provided, or when she needed to extend the care to others like the Childrens hospital in Colorado and also an Incision and Drainage doctor also at MHCC.

The reason I was so impressed in addition to all this with Dr Skuza was because she would make house calls just to check on Kasey and once it was discovered that an infection caused all this and he had it drained and started healing and we didnt go in for appointments anymore she wrote us a card and got him a little stuffed bear Also, I have never met her in person.

My husband helped with taking our son to all his appointments. I talked to her a few times but never actually met her yet still I feel I know her and have still been so grateful for her:) Thank you for truly caring and taking great care of our son! I would also like to take a moment to recognize the Laboratory staff, and radiology staff who had to do blood work and take x-rays and stuff that my son was so not willing or happy to do.

He always came home with some sort of complimentary bag or little stuffed animal:) When he had his biopsy done Dr Freeman and his staff that helped him perform that did well and his infection is healing and we have appreciated the appointments after to make sure things are continuing to go well for him. Dr Patrick Yost is our Family Doctor and has been since 2017.

He is so cool and chill and I feel like I can be relaxed and cool when I have appointments for my kids with him:) I have 5 kids and all of them are seen by him. We kept him as our Primary doctor when we moved to Glenrock because we like him so much:) His nurse Suzie and Sheila the immunizations nurse, or I think official title is the clinics vaccine coordinator, are also wonderful ladies! Suzie has taken many phone calls and eased my mind with her knowledge over the phone or helped get me appointments quickly when needed for uncertain situations. Sheila we call Lala because that is what her friends call her and that is what we call my daughter:) No one likes getting poked, but Lala has a way with the kids to make them feel more at ease and always there with a little toy and treat for after the shot(s) is/are done:) I feel awful because there is another wonderful nurse who we have see more often the last few times we have gone in for appointments and she is always sweet, kind, and complimenting of my children.

I cannot remember her name, but she is the nurse with Doctor Yost too:) We have also been seen by Doctor Tony when Dr Yost is unavailable and she is great too! We go to the clinic in the Medical Office Building next to the Urgent Care when we have appointments and see these awesome doctors/nurses/and coordinators:) Even the check in staff when you walk in to the building to check in has always been so friendly to me and my kids:) It means alot to have people you like to associate with for different things like setting up appointments and dealing with financial bills and statements etc:) Hopefully from all this you get the drift that we have had good experiences and recommend MHCC for your medical needs:)

My wife dislocated her shoulder and broke her upper humerus bone. The ER got her sorted pretty well, and they managed to get her shoulder back in but then the Othopedic doc got involved and said he could not fix the broken bone until 11 days after the accident. No amount of meds were able to manage the pain levels and no position she slept or sat in could make it comfortable.

The ortho said he would give her a referral to another doctor and also be happy to provide follow-on care if another surgeon from outside the area repaired her arm so she called Teton Orthopedic who had repaired her knee four years ago. The orthoped said that she should go ahead and get herself to Jackson for the surgery (5.5 hours away). Now, one week post successful surgery, the orthoped is refusing to do the follow-on care as promised (like checking on the staples, etc).

I took my son in for a hernia and was told it would be done the next day. They called me later and said they needed prior authorization from the insurance company and would call back. They called a week later and said they had the authorization and could get him in in three weeks. The doctor was booked up for the week and off the next. A month later really! Please take your children somewhere they will be treated and be safe.

My husband had back surgery October 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Converse County performed by our surgeon, Dr. Eric Schubert. I have never been treated with such compassion, dignity and respect as I was while at this hospital. If hospitals have a standard that they are measured by. Memorial Hospital of Converse County should be THE standard! We traveled from Riverton WY to have this surgery and I am SO HAPPY we did!

From the hospital staff, doctors, nurses to the cafeteria staff. TOP NOTCH SERVICE! Everyone was so happy to have us and they all seemed to really enjoy working there. Thank you Memorial Hospital of Converse County for helping us during our time of need with such grace and compassion!

This hospital has the only pediatric diabetic doc in Wyoming so I had no choice but to take my son here. The doctor and her staff were nice and professional however my son had dual private insurance (my husband and I both carried coverage) and I never received an EOB. That is until I told them we would be switching to a Casper Endocrinologist since my son turned 18.

They were charging my insurance companies $1200.00 PER VISIT! Now all of the sudden they have no clue how to get his last visit paid for and are stating that I owe $800 as they can't seem to submit the claim properly through BOTH private insurances! I DO NOT recommend this hospital
