I had a procedure done with Dr. Alter 4 months ago and it has healed nicely. I am very glad I found him and took the 5 hour flight to see him it was well worth the trip. He made the entire experience stress-free with his personable, friendly demeanor. Also shout out to his nurse Norma! She was incredible and super kind. By far the best patient-care I have ever received. They were both a pleasure to work with and I am thankful I met them.

I had surgery done with Dr. Alter and I am very pleased with my results. I don't think any other doctor would've been able to achieve the results that Dr. Alter was able to. I felt very comfortable and safe being in his care. I truly believe he is the best at what he does. Dr. Alter and his staff are wonderful and I would highly recommend him.

I discovered Dr Alter because he kept popping up online when I was researching labiaplasty. That should have been a big red flag. Who needs to advertise themselves that much? My results are awful The aftercare was a joke. He continued to answer people's questions on realself instead of responding to post op questions! The only good thing I have to say is the nurse that I hired to look after me on the day of my surgery was lovely. But she doesn't even work for the practice so I can't even give them credit for that.

Gary J Alter is seriously the Dr to go to for a mastectomy if you want minimal scarring. I can't believe how amazing the overall experience was and he is so laid back and kind that it makes you feel right at home. All the nurses are super sweet, too. They gave me a little space heater after surgery to keep me warm and I didn't even have to ask.

That stuff goes a long way with me lol I really appreciated that. I am sooooo dang happy I flew out for this. It was worth the money, the wait, and hardships. I finally feel like the man I am on the inside 10/5 star hahaa

I recently was a patient of Dr. Alter. He was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable! The staff members who assisted (both NYC and Beverly Hills) were friendly, helpful, and supportive. The whole experience went better than I anticipated and I would highly recommend Dr. Alter!

I went for a consultation with this doctor and thought he was a rude, conceited creep. He showed me graphic, disgusting pictures of the surgery I wanted which seemed highly inappropriate. I wouldn't let him touch me with a 10 foot pole. It was a waste of my time and money to go. He seemed kind and caring on a tv show in the past. He's nothing like that in real person. His staff is weird too. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to help you.

Having had surgery 20 years ago with Dr Alter. Im very happy to say Im still enjoying my results.

I had a genital related problem that doctors in general aren't familiar with. I had been doing foreskin restoration for quite some time, as I hate the fact that I was mutilated as an infant for no medical reason. I was overly aggressive in my foreskin restoration and sustained multiple traction injuries. Most doctors have no idea what to do when it comes to such an unusual problem, but Dr.

Alter still had a solution. He introduced me to Platelet-Rich-Plasma injections which improve healing of soft tissues. After going for a couple rounds of injections, my traction injuries have healed significantly, and I suspect that I will continue to improve over time.

From the beginning, his staff was amazing, professional and kind. Dr. Alter, was excellent, from the point of consultation to post operation check up. Dr. Alter is caring, informative and a very accomplished Plastic Surgeon, the outcome of my surgery is beyond my expectations. Can't recommend him more highly.

Claims to be a great service to transgender people, but acts flippant and dismissive at the idea that nonbinary people even exist, let alone that being nonbinary might influence one's needs in pursuing surgery.

I don't know where to start with this review. The search for a surgeon with the unique skills and expertise that Dr. Alter possesses was a lengthy and sometimes frustrating experience. The procedure that Dr. Alter performed is highly specialized and no surgeon has the experience that Dr. Alter has with this procedure. I felt a high level of confidence from the very beginning with Dr.

Alter and his staff. Everyone was extremely polite, professional, and compassionate from the telephone consultation, to the scheduling, and to the actual procedure. On the day before the procedure Dr. Alter discussed his plan for the surgery in a very calm and patient manner. He said the results wont' be perfect but they will be a huge improvement.

I am now just one week post-op and I am still in shock about what a fantastic job Dr. Alter did. It turned out far better than I expected and I could not be more pleased at this particular moment. I highly recommend Dr. Alter.

From the first phone call to set up a consultation, through the operation and release of my child, Dr Alter and his staff were nothing shy of incredible to us. I will keep the procedure confidential for my kids protection but like any parent my wife and I did our research and were cautious moving forward without getting a huge list of questions answered.

We did a phone consult with Dr Alter and he patiently answered all of our questions and put our concerns to rest. At surgery time and post op appointments he was very professional, great with my kid and a pro at work. His accomplishments in his field of work fully decorate the walls of his office. Super impressive. Zena, set us up with everything we needed.

She made sure we had all our financial arrangements in order and took extra special care of us. TY! Keri, followed up with us for anything else we needed. Even helped us find a hotel room for the week stay. TY! The surgical staff were top notch. Our RN Roni, went as far as offering her cell number for any questions post op. (Which I took advantage of and she responded immediately) TY.

The surgery went very well, results are looking very good, as this was a very recent operation. Seems rare these days to find medical help that treats you like people and not just $$. Can't thank them enough! If I had to do it again I wouldn't look anywhere else.

If you are in need of some serious care Dr Alter is NOT who you want. He is very conceded and cares only for his reputation. I was in need (still am) of a doctor to relieve my pain. I searched for years for someone who could help. Dr Alter said he could and directed me to get excruciating painful electrolysis treatments for a year to prepare for his surgery only to have him back out at the last minute saying he never said he could help me.

Now he completely ignores my calls and emails. He is an awful doctor with self motivating desires. Please if you need real help go somewhere else and find someone who is kind.

Excellent, Humble, Professional Dr and Surgical Team who listen to your wants and needs! I can not say enough about how they go out of their way to make you feel safe, comfortable, calm, and cared for. Surgical team was so genuine, friendly, attentive, and relatable. Anesthesiologist Dr. Taheri was WONDERFUL! No arm bruising! No pain! Dr. Alter has excellent bedside manners and knowledge of his profession!

Despite my expected bruising, swelling and bandage, I can definitely notice a drastic difference in my side profile post mon pubis lipo. Can't wait to see the final results when swelling subsides. Dr. Alter is a caring Dr. Who knows what he is doing.

Dr. Alter charged $2500 for a procedure that lasted for two weeks. The total cost of the surgery was $8,000, and Dr. Alter left me with a horrible, disfiguring keloid from it. After my surgery, I was given absolutely no post-op instructions whatsoever. I was pushed out of the building in a wheelchair while I was nearly unconscious after general anesthesia by a staff member.

I had pain and swelling after my surgery and called the office. I only got to speak to the receptionist who laughed at me, and did not allow me to speak to a medical professional. Do not chose this surgeon unless you want to have a botched surgery and be treated horribly by his staff during your surgical experience.

Dr Gary Alter is a very gifted, talented, and amazing guy! I have been going to him for almost 10yrs. For someone of his status he is always so down-to-earth. Such a cool guy that I would recommend or trust with any of my friends or family. Just recently I tried the SculpSure machine he has that destroys fat cells, and so far it works wonders! I'm very pleased!

I had read a lot about it on RealSelf and saw Dr Alter's Instagram, so figured I'd give it a try. It's a lot cheaper that liposuction and it was pretty painless. The technician was really informative and answered all my questions. I got it on my upper abs and loves handles done. I'm only a few weeks after the treatment, but I already see a difference in my fat melting away. I plan on going back in a few weeks to get SculpSure on my thighs, so I'll update this soon.

Excellent physician and surgeon - one of the top in his field. For privacy reasons, no detailed disclosure of exact procedures necessary, but he surely has earned his board certifications in both plastic surgery and urology - one of only two docs with these double boards in the entire United States. Practice is well run, calls are returned in a timely manner and the operation room in the surgery center on location is bordering on elegant - never seen one with floor to ceiling windows. Highly recommended!

A great surgeon! He also met with me when his office was closed, just to check up on me! So friendly and down to earth! Love him!

I, too, did a telephone interview with Dr Alter. He requested photos, and collected a $100 fee in advance, which, I think is very fair to speak with a surgeon of his caliber. He called me at the scheduled time, and gave me his full attention; despite being under the weather. Dr. Alter is focused on his practice and his patients. I would recommend him to anyone. Perhaps, the other reviewer misunderstood the amount of the consultation fee, as being $450?

I was quoted $100 by his office, and that's what I was charged, with the option of applying the $100 to the cost of my procedure. Dr. Alter is one of the best in his business, and offers hope to those needing difficult surgeries.

I still have not had experience with the dr because I'm from Venezuela, but it is important to note that it is an excellent dr. I like your program someteme 90210 I would love to one day to an operation with Dr. Gary.

I sent this Doctor an email to ask about a consultation since i am considering forhead feminization and the reply was quick: he wanted pictures of the front of my face and the side. I teplied if i could set up an actual consultation to speak with him in person and got a reply from what i assume is his assitant that i could call the number, and make an appointment. Ok, sounded cool.

But then she continued asking for a $450 payment for the consultation wich would be applied to my surgery (because for some reason they assumed i was going to go ahead and choose them) and i replied with a no thanks. I dont know why there should be such a high price to talk to the doctor. I understand his time is precious, but so is my money. He must be out of his mind to think i will be paying that amount for what i assume is a 30 talk with him. 0 stars if that were a possibility.

I'm truly impressed with him! He personally responds to his e-mails AND ON A SUNDAY, and his fees seem to me to be MORE than reasonable for the particular plastic surgery that I need. He is Board Certified as BOTH a Plastic Surgeon AND a Urologist, so that means that he has shown his peers that he is terrific at what he does and completely trustworthy. Once I have the needed surgery, I'll update this review. In the meantime, if you need what he offers, I'd unhesitatingly give him a call.
