Terrible staff, terrible schedule and extremely inconsiderate. I have been a patient since the age of 13 due to continuous systs and they have performed multiple surgeries on me and just because I saw my pcp for my last paps I am no longer "considered a patient" I am a new patient and they will no longer work with me as a patient because they are at capacity. Don't even bother trying.

Trust the negative reviews about the unprofessionalism that is displayed by the gynecologists here. This place is always open with even last minute appointments available which is why I have visited twice, but will no longer be returning. My first doctor here pushed me to get std testing even when I told her that I have never been sexually active.
She said the reasoning for me getting it would be because "the office would lose out on profits for such an easy procedure that would be over in a couple minutes." This was also my first Pap smear so I wasn't sure if this was normal or not so I said yes finally, after she insisted multiple times when I said no thank you. My second visit was with a different doctor (dr. Vogel) and she was extremely condescending and would talk down on me when I would ask any questions, as if she was talking to a child. Extremely rude and unprofessional, there is a reason they're always free. Please go elsewhere for your gynelogical needs because this ain't it.

I am really happy with Dr Vogel and her staff. I find them to be really attentive and friendly every time I would go in for a doctor visit. I love their text and email reminders about appointments and I like how I don't have to wait in a busy office or I am never waiting too long to be seen. I highly recommend Dr Vogel she's one of the best doctors I've ever had!

Very poor first impression. I was referred to Dr. Joanne Vogel through my primary care so I scheduled my appointment. They literally would call/text/email me multiple times to confirm the appointment or sign up on their portal but wouldn't call me to atleast let me know that the doctor is not available for my scheduled appointment.

I have been a patient of San Ramon OB/GYN for five years now and I have nothing but great things to say about all of the staff. Everyone is always so helpful and pleasant during my visits. Today, I have an experience that made me want to point about a staff member that went above and beyond, Farah Babaei, NP. I was having a small procedure done and was feeling very anxious and nervous, she walked me through the entire process to ease my nerves, and provided breathing support to get me through the procedure.
I was so thankful to have her. Not only did she take the time to explain everything but she made me feel so relaxed. If you're looking for a great OB, stop looking- try it out!

Dr. Vogel and staff are amazing. She is well known in her community, knowledgeable, and respected. Shes minutes from the hospital where she delivers. Even know shes sees many patients each day she takes time for each one. She also is prompt with replying to the patient portal online. I can say all this with because I have been with Dr Vogel for 8 years now. I dont know how she does it.

Dr. Vogal has been my OB throughout my pregnancy. She has always been great about listening and responding to any questions that I have and providing me with pertinent information at different stages of the pregnancy. She was very swift to ensure that potential pregnancy risks were kept under control throughout my pregnancy and respected my wishes such as not wanting additional genetic testing.
She also was good at informing me the risk and benefits of forgoing certain interventions and listened along with responded to my concerns. Thus making me feel that I am making choices with all the facts required to do so. Her office staff were friendly and warmly welcomed me back again during my visits. The office is very clean. She seemed to make every effort to be there throughout your pregnancy up to the due date.
I never felt like I had to wait long periods of time to see her. Dr. Vogal was there as my OB when I was in the hospital. I had a smooth delivery and a very healthy baby. I am thankful for Dr. Vogal's constant presence throughout this process!

I had gotten the ParaGuard copper IUD here, a month later I was suffering from over the top painful cramps - I never got cramps before - I called in and let them know I thought my IUD was displaced and they told me no way, and that cramps were the side effect. fast forward 2 years I swiched to Kaiser and messaged my new OBGYN about different options because i could not stand the pain anymore and she sent me tons of info and old me to get an ultrasound.sure enough my IUD was dislodged, and probably has been for 2 years! I can't believe San Ramon OBGYN treated me with such neglect.

During 8 months pregnancy till now with her I just visited her 2 times. She left her office two times while I was waiting for her at her office, once she said I will call you tonight if you have any problems which she didn't call. The second time she just left and her office staff said reschedule. And one visit with her nurse. She is always on rush and doesn't care about patients health.
The last time I asked her office staff to send my records to new OB/GYN, I had kidney infection and email her about it, she said your medical records have sent to your new doctor, contact them about your problem. But they haven't send my records to my new dr almost one month after that. I had a mild anemia through my first and second trimester and she didn't prescribed me any supplements, I worry about my baby's health now. And she didn't tell me I have to go for genetics testing in first trimester too which I had to go. I don't recommend her.

8/2/18 Had an appointment at Children's Hospital today and her Dr was in shock and outrage at the treatment she has thus far received from this office! We were told not to go back there for her 2 week follow up but the find another OB and at the very least report this Dr. They saw how much pain she was in while we were there for a completely different problem!

Both Dr Vogel & Grabenstetter are wonderful doctors. I have had various surgeries here with both doctors and both have been caring, punctual and very good at what they do! It is a small staff and my wait is never longer than 5 minutes. I've been in other waiting rooms that are full of people and i wait up to an hour past my appointment time. There was a comment below on the wait time and I think that comment is in accurate. Wonderful staff from the front desk to each doctor. Thank you!

I was highly disppointed with office etiquettes. When I called, the woman I spoke was super nice. Our family repatriated back to the US from Korea and I am 7 months pregnant. The coordinator told me to bring in my records and they will make copy. However when I arrived the next day, the coordinator didn't want to make copies. She wanted me to leave my one and only copy of my medical records from Korea there.
And only after doctor reviews they will schedule me an appointment and she refused to give me estimate. She said it can be days or weeks. I am 30 WEEKS pregnant and HIGH RISK. I begged her and she suggested I go Staples, after some more begging, I told her that its really difficult to drag my 3 y/o and being 7 months pregnant in a new town is not the easiest thing.
After 30 to 40 mins of waiting for her to take care of other patients. she told me she can make copies and for me to come back later. But I was worried because I saw how careless she was with the paperwork, I insisted on staying and waiting and she kept refusing. I asked to speak to her manager finally Dr. Vogel came out and before she even listened or see what I had to show her, she said that they could not accommodate me.
I went to another Dr. office and it took all of 3 MINUTES for the reception to make a copy! And I was also able to schedule an appointment at the same time. OMG, if its this difficult to get an appointment, I can't imagine how treatment will be. There was another lady there that asked for something and she left abruptly and told reception she had to leave.
I could tell she was also annoyed with the staff. Thanks for making an already stressful time even MORE stressful and making a 7 month pregnant woman cry who was desperate for help. AGAIN, it took all of 3 MINUTES, cause I timed how long it took to make the copy.

There aren't enough stars for Dr. Jennifer Grabenstetter - honestly. I was a third trimester transfer patient from San Diego who foolishly picked Dr. Lollar out of a want to deliver at San Ramon and the proximity of his office to the hospital. After much drama with him, Dr. Grabenstetter accepted me as a patient. THANK GOODNESS! She's detailed, current, and candid.
Her bedside, operating room, and overall approach is very kind, patient and inviting. My busy then 16 month old attended my visits, she always took a moment to get on his level and greet him as well as find ways to have him (think) he was assisting during the exams to keep him busy and me more relaxed. You can tell she's an amazing mom herself, she has 2 young sons and another child on the way.
Top of it all their exam rooms all have a corner filled with some toys - talk about doing this above and beyond. Her reputation around the hospital is great - she's known by the OR nurses to have the best closing (I shared that the nurses had said that and she laughed sweetly saying she thanks her Grandma for hours of sewing lessons.). I visited L&D 4x for stress tests - each time late int he afternoon.
She was always very involved - communicating with the nurses, everyone was always on the same page (including me). The entire (planned) c-section process was so enjoyable - as was the after care (including bedside visits post op days). She's never made me feel rushed (and I have definitely taken up chunks of her time I feel), answers all questions clearly and is not afraid to add a personal perspective when doing so. I'm done having children - but recommend her to the WORLD. And will continue to see her for regular visits.

I showed up 15 minutes early to my appointment and the office was still closed. The doctor nor the staff were here at 2:30 at the time of my appointment. I had to call the answering service and was told they had a late lunch and running late. I found that to be very unprofessional. If you have a "scheduled" appointment and a "scheduled" office party, they should've called me in advance to come later. I'm a new patient and not one courtesy call came in to inform me. This is all before even seeing the doctor. The office staff casually arrived at 2:50pm without any remorse or apologizes. This will be my last visit to this office.

After giving birth to my second child, I wanted to make sure to update my review on my experience with San Ramon OBGYN and particularly my experience with Dr. Vogel. I am somewhat surprised when reading some of the negative reviews on Dr. Vogel and on her staff. I have had nothing but great experiences here. Dr. Vogel was always attentive, responsive and caring.
In my experience, she was very thorough during exams and she also took time to explain any and all issues in detail. I never felt rushed during my appointments and if I had any non-urgent concerns, I felt comfortable using the patient portal knowing that Dr. Vogel would get back to me quickly. Dr. Vogel is very straight-forward and to-the-point, but she also has a wonderful bedside manner, which made me feel very comfortable (especially when I was in the hospital ready to delivery my son).
With respect to Dr. Vogel's staff, the receptionists and assistants were always very pleasant. I had no problem making appointments and changing them as necessary. I understand that with any busy practice, there may be some delays due to medical emergencies. Often times, when patients arrive late, the entire schedule for the day is thrown off (which is why Dr. Vogel always had me as her first patient since I live close and was always on time). Overall, I had a wonderful experience here for the second time and would continue to recommend Dr. Vogel and her practice.

Wow! What an unfortunate conversation I just had with an incredibly rude receptionist at this office. I hate to be one of those annoying people to write a bad review, without ever getting the opportunity to even meet the doctor, but that was so unpleasant I feel compelled to write. I don't need to get into the details, the bottom line is, when running a business, the person answering the phones is the gatekeeper and the one giving the first impression. After that awful exchange, I have no interest of ever talking to that rude, woman again.

I have been a patient there for the past year. I have seen Dr Vogel and her nurse practitioner and was happy with both of them. A few days ago I made an appointment because I was in a lot if pain and the first one they could give me was with Dr. Grabenstetter. My appointment was at 2:15 and she didn't see me until 2:50. She was in a hurry and didn't give me a chance to explain my concerns.
She was only in the room for less than 10 min just did a quick breast exam and wrote me a quick referral for Ultrasound. She also told me to take some supplements but for the life of me I can not remember the dosage because she was in a hurry and didn't even bother to write it down for me. I felt so cheated. I don't know why people like her become Drs. There is no way I would ever see her again!
