My Mother and I have been waiting in the Emergency Room going on 10 hours! We got here at around 9pm and we're still here 7am the next morning! Without question the absolute worst hospital experience of my lifetime! Vitals taken twice by support staff and examined once by a P.A, she hasn't even been seen by a Doctor yet! Bloodwork was provided hours ago, yet no results forthcoming as yet! We'll never ever come here again!

This place is absolute worst in terms of the front desk staff. I would give them 0 stars. There is no board or sign mentioning visiting hours and apparently it is supposed to be from 11am. I can't dream about the visiting hours if it is not posted at the reception or front lobby. Until they post they can't and should not enforce the visiting hours.
My wife was supposed to have a major surgery at 12pm. I showed up with my daughter at 9am to wish her good luck. They would not let us in even after me telling them there is no sign regarding visiting hours. You cannot even make a phone call to your loved ones from the lobby as data and phones have been jammed or blocked on purpose. They are not even considerate about the fact that people dont come there to have a party but to meet their loved ones who are in distress and who are getting treated.
They are rude. They don't even give their full names to file a complaint. Mary and her sidekick at front desk and her boss Sue should all be fired. They think they run the hospital. This review is just the beginning and will go on social media. Employ people with empathy. and not who are rude and inconsiderate.

I arrived here to ER with my husband at 11:50pm in severe abdominal pain on lower right hand side. He could barely walk. Check in and was told no triage beds available. He puked in the bathroom and curled up into a ball on floor in bathroom for 2.5 hours. Feels somewhat better so we have moved to the chairs in waiting area. We are still waiting at 6:10am. To be continued.

I had the best experience ever. The nurses were very nice. The doctors were amazing. The food was great too hahaha. But seriously i was treated so nicely here, every nurse that came always checked up on me, they weren't like other nurses that just go in to do the job and leave, they always had time to chat for a bit and always asked if i needed something.
I never really bothered then though, I know it's their job but i didn't wanna be a burden. I really wish I could i thank them all for making my stay a good experience. I really wish I could thank the wonderful nurse who was there when I woke up from surgery, she was nice and never left my side until it was time for me to head to my room.

Wow. One of the worst places to be taken if you're ever hit on your motorcycle. The only bright spot and the only time I felt in good hands was with the trauma team, specifically Dr. Gab. Besides that.the worst of the worst. I had to pee while in the ED, no nurses button to push, so I unhooked two IVs and an EKG, hobbled in pain to the bathroom, and hobbled back and hooked everything back up and no one knew a thing.
That story is the total truth. All the alarms in my bay were going off and no one came. Then I got very thirsty and that's when I started having a tantrum. I demanded to be discharged. Mind you, I just got hit by a car at 40mins on my motorcycle. I was in the worst shape. No way I was spending the night there.

Been to their emergency room several times in the last few years, and have always felt like they cared sincerely about me and my health issues. Triage is fast and thorough. You have to wait awhile for some things but that is understandable. I understand that they are busy and I am not the only person in the place that needs help and care. The nurses and most of the staff are just amazing! Wonderful people plain and simple!

I have had mostly wonderful experiences at this hospital as I've been coming for years with my parents and myself. I'm in the hospital right now. Despite the effects of covid, the nurses and everyone in the hospital are friendly, hard working and caring. Housekeeping keeps the rooms and all of the common areas clean and well cared for. The hospital is equipped to handle many types of emergencies and there's a helicopter port on the roof for transporting patients

Abington does a wonderful job, let's start with the ER you get in they ask your reason depending you wait. I arrived at 7:45 am and it's 2.40 pm as I am writing this. Let me first state they have no beds because their are a lot of folks in the ER but that's 70 percent of it! Now that being said some of the workers mainly the guards that are in the ER can be very nasty the way they speak to people.
That's a problem! That did not happen to me but I overheard another woman just ask a question and the guard was not nice. Once you wait in waiting area they call you back and access your problem, someone comes in get insurance info or confirms insurance, then a nurse comes in to draw blood etc. The doctor will come in next LORD don't need a test! That's the whole wait!
I had a xray test done, now I must state the room is on the same floor and I am still waiting 2 hours later that is ridiculous! This is why there are no beds. That's 30 percent of it! That part of the ER needs to be revamped but all in all the care I received was ok nurses, doctors excellent!

If there could be negative stars, that would be the feedback. When we arrived yesterday (Nov. 05 at 11pm to the Abington_Jefferson er) at the check-in - the white bold guy (none of them had nametags) next to the lady at the computer at check-in window rudely told me to 'take some tylenol and go home' before even asking about any symptoms. Is it even legal to try to turn away patients, who are seeking medical care - from the ER?
After I mentioned I had high fever for 5 days and tylenol does not really bring it down he asked 'if I have troubles breathing' and 'who told me to come there?'. After I mentioned my Dr. finally took me to take vitals. The nurse rushed through questions when i tried to recall last dose of acetaminophen, she quickly moved to the next question. When I tried to express concern that it was better, and then got worse she quickly snapped back at me that 'this is what happens'.
At the check in they never asked me about my symptoms just underlying issues, and never included the vitals in the after-visit summary they took initially at 11pm - my BP was over 180 and O2~96 (only included the ones they took after 3.5 hours in the waiting room). They completely disregarded my concerns with headache on one side and blurry vision.
They took cardiogram but it is not even mentioned in after visit summary either. and FYI they keep covid patients in the same waiting room they keep everyone else! (and be aware waiting room bathrooms are outrageously dirty). We waited fro around 3 hours and I asked how long the wait might be and they told me 4 patients in front of me (there was a total of maybe 5-7patients in the waiting room at that point all came after us).
After they retook the vitels after 3.5 hrs wait - for my question about the wait time - the nurse looked away and told they do not know who comes when to the er. Because my heart palpitations and headache were getting worse, and I got abdominal pain and lower back pain (that I did not have before) - we left after 4 hrs in the freezing waiting room, because I was not sure if they would notice if God forbid I had heart attack or any other serious thing. Ended up going to a different hospital and had a completely different experience.
This Hospital used to be amazing hospital with great stuff and amazing professional doctors, but after they were purchased by jefferson everything goes downhill fast. (earlier this year we needed covid test for traveling for a family member - and doing swab test and telling us will take ~1-2 days, after me calling them several times after 2 days they told me it takes 2 weeks for the covid swab test to be processed). we went to cvs and got results within 24 hours. Update: now I have diarrhea 3rd day - after their 4hr waiting room (no sanitizer or disinfecting wipes). Stay away.
