It took a month to get in, but I liked the practitioner that I saw. However, after dealing with symptoms for some time, it surprises me that the one thing keeping me from starting treatment is a lack of instructions for using a medication. The office was contacted twice; once by my pharmacist and then by me. Neither one of us received a response, and therefore, I cannot pick up my medication until after this weekend (maybe).
Part of the issue is the terrible calling system that never gets you to the actual office to deal with urgent matters. This is unacceptable and their system needs to be fixed so you can deal with the people at the actual office, and not at some call center

Dangerously inept business. I got a postop infection so I called the number I was given, and the message said to please use the patient portal to communicate, which I did. No response. I called the office the next morning at 8:00 and the receptionist took a message. No response. I phoned again at 2:00 in the afternoon and she said the surgeon may call back after hours or maybe not till the next day. SERIOUSLY?
He eventually called back in the evening and said there was currently no one to look at the messages on the patient portal so that is like writing Santa Claus, and there is no one to check phone messages so he has to do that in the evening after performing surgeries and seeing patients. This place has a monopoly in central MD. If anyone wants to start a competing practice I think they will do very well.

I got a vasectomy at Chesapeake Urology and their billing dept. will try to take advantage of you. Chesapeake charges approximately $4,500 for a vasectomy (the charged price then changed to approximately $1,600 after the procedure). The fair price (according my my insurance company) for a vasectomy in the area is approximately $800. In addition, they tried charging me (two attemps) 15% of the total cost, even though my insurance company covered 100%. My insurance company eventually had to call them with me on the line to convince them not to charge me.

I Have been here twice now. One time being sick another for a vasectomy. The staff is very professional, the office is very clean, and the doctors are amazing. They make you feel very comfortable during things that aren't fun. I drove here from an hour away because the staff was outstanding when I arrived in pain during my first visit. Thanks you all very much.

Once you get accepted, the care by Chesapeake Urology is the finest one could imagine. On the other hand, having an apparent monopoly on urology care in Howard County and the surrounding areas, they can effectively and totally deny what they offer to some by limiting the insurance programs that they accept. They have done this to my son who is suffering from Stage 4 Colon Cancer, has two nephrostomies, and no urologist. Despite three months of looking based upon advice from the hospital and others, we have found no one to help him.
