Horrible business practice from the office side of things. I called a week before my appointment to confirm they worked with my insurance and was told "I think we do, but it's the patients responsibility to confirm that." My insurance dropped the ball as well, but let's focus on what Alpine did wrong. They saw me with no prior authorization attempts on my insurance, despite having the information a week in advance.
They took x-rays despite me offering images taken a week prior from another doctor. They wrapped me back up in a cast and scheduled an OR room for surgery the following week. And right before my surgery, two weeks after I first contacted them, was when they attempted any "prior authorization to treatment". Literally one week after seeing me was their first attempt to contact my insurance company.
This left me with a 4-digit bill paying cash for the experience while left unemployed with a broken wrist during the midst of the pandemic. I can't help but feel this was intention and a cash-scam they've done many times. If you want to use this doctor, make absolutely sure they'll work with your insurance, because they don't care either way. Just paid off my >$1000 bill for very little actual treatment.
