EMGs can help diagnose a variety of diseases and conditions. An electromyogram (EMG) records the electrical activity in muscles; when muscles are active, they produce a current. This current is usually proportional to the level of muscle activity. This test is usually performed when patients have unexplained muscle weakness, and can distinguish between muscle conditions in which the problem begins in the muscle and muscle weakness due to nerve disorders. The EMG can also be used to detect true weakness, as opposed to weakness from reduced use because of pain or lack of motivation.

A doctor who truly stands by her physician oath, or one who only cares for those she chooses? My wife has two herniated discus and made an appointment with Dr. Abrahamson to try to get rehabilitation with hopes of avoiding surgery. This appointment was to hopefully start my wife on receiving injections. The day before the appointment my wife contacted the office only to be told the doctor only does video appointments.
My wife questioned this because it was her first appointment and was never told see couldn't be seen in the office. Then she was told the only people seen in the office were those who receive injections, so she was blatantly lied to! My wife had been in excruciating pain and was visually upset upon hearing this, but the staff was unsympathetic and uncaring.
The nurse practitioner accused my wife of being angry, and stated, "you better change your tone and attitude before you speak with the doctor or she will refuse to see you." My wife was speaking with a hurting voice, not an angery one. If the nurse practitioner truly learned what she was taught, she would have understood this. Dr. Abrahamson's office called the morning of the appointment and told my wife the doctor will not see you now, and stated, " Dr. Abrahamson doesn't think she can fill your need." Humm?
Please don't misinterpret this review! Dr. Abrahamson is one of the best pain management doctors in the downriver area, but then again, that is only if you can get past her inept staff and nurse practitioner! Good luck to anyone who talks to them while experiencing uncontrollable pain or needs explanations from them!

The best wellness Doctor you are going to find downriver. I struggled with fatigue, lack of strength, irritability, and brain fog. Dr. Abrahamson took the time to do the proper test, review the results with me. Through this bloodwork work we were able to come up with the proper treatment. Now my quality of life is so much higher. The staff at the office is also second-to-none. They are helpful willing to be attentive and listen to your needs, and very friendly.

Dr. Anne Abrahamson, and her staff are truly amazing. I started seeing Anne last August to "fix" myself rather than post rehab. I was the typical out of shape 48 year old business owner that was taking care of everything but me at the time. Dr. Anne, and her staff took the time to do the most comprehensive blood/ body exam I have ever had done. From there was put on a program of vitamins, The Red Bed, and other medicines to correct my bodies deficient areas.
Today I am still on my journey and my life is still changing daily due to Dr. Anne helping me obtain those goals. I trust her more than I have ever trusted a physician before. Thank you! Robert Sawyer Grosse Ile, MI
