Eye Physicians of Central Florida is proud to provide excellence in modern cataract surgery with our skilled and experienced ophthalmic surgeons - David B. Auerbach, D.O., Victor B. Thomas, M.D., Kris-Ann Humphrey, M.D., and Hamza M. Pasha, M.D. Our doctors are now offering Bladeless Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery with Alcon's LenSx laser.
Cataract surgery is usually done as an outpatient in a surgical center or hospital. The actual surgery only takes about 10 minutes, and the entire process typically takes just a few hours from start to finish. An IV is started to give you some medicine so you are sedated. Your ophthalmologist will make a very small incision (which usually requires no stitches to close) in the eye and remove the cataract.
Dr. Auerbach and Dr. Thomas are now offering Bladeless Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery with Alcon's LenSx laser. The LenSx laser brings a new level of customization to cataract surgery, allowing each procedure to be specifically tailored to patient anatomy and surgeon preference. Although cataract surgery is considered to be one of the safest and most successful procedures performed in medicine today, laser cataract surgery improves the precision of many key surgical steps to provide possibly better outcomes and potentially make cataract surgery even safer.
Eye Physicians of Central Florida ophthalmologist David B. Auerbach, D.O. was the first surgeon in Central Florida to offer cataract surgery with the new AcrySof ReSTOR Intraocular lens (IOL). This breakthrough technology enhances your vision and may help you to see clearly at all distances without bifocals or reading glasses.

It's something about a business having the gato ask it patients to come in early only to have them wait in a crowed waiting room and barking out prices to customers before they even see an optometrist or sit down. Added to this ridiculousness is having to wait additional time in the back. In total we spent almost two hours waiting to be seen. Just waiting.
This may have been acceptable if it was for an adult, but no, you made a 20 month old baby wait nearly two hours for nothing. The most that occurred during our visit was them getting his information and taking a picture of his eyes (with a camera). In the end we had to leave because we may not have even seen anyone till almost 4 (we arrived there at 2:05).
Even the one nice person we dealt with didn't make up for this utter disrespect for our time or our child's wellbeing. If you wondering why this happened? Simply put, Greed. Having an entire waiting room full of customers meant you had no regard for patients time or well-being(especially during a pandemic). I not only question the legality of doing this but also the morality as well.

Took me three days to set up an appointment. The call back system does not work but when I finally spoke to someone she was incredibly nice. Arrived 20 min early for my 3:10 appt and was not called back until 3:35 (after I asked how much longer). I spent the next hour and half being shuttled between different rooms for various tests and seeing the doctor 3 different times.
The doctor (dr victor thomas) was short with me and he spoke down to me like I was stupid for asking questions. When I asked him a question he spoke slow to me. I finally left almost 2 hours later than my arrival time. Nobody told me I may end up spending 2 hours there. The doctor ran out the office so I guess I was his last appt and he was in a rush to get out.
I was referred out to see two more additional doctors and it makes me wonder if it's even necessary. They need to explain things better to patients. From the office staff to the doctors. I'm assuming all these tests may result in additional bills from my insurance. I hope not or else I'll be very upset. Update: 12/19/21 tried to call Tiffany per the response below but voicemail is full. wonder why?! Hmmm.
I left a voicemail with Tiffany before when I couldn't reach the office staff to cancel an appointment. Never received a call back from anyone at all. Also haven't seen anything pending from my insurance so I'm not sure where the claim is.look elsewhere for an eye doctor is my continued advice. Update 02/23/22 called Tiffany and left her a v/m and also called the billing number and left v/m as I received a bill with a no show charge.
I figured this would happen. Left numerous messages and no call back yet from anyone at this office. Highly unprofessional and this charge needs to be removed. 02/23 - Tiffany finally called me back! She removed my no show charge and I definitely will not return to this office as the entire process has been horrible. I explained all my concerns and I hope that she takes them seriously.

Appt at 2:45 but asked to show up early as if they are going to be on time. Been there an hour and STILL wasn't even in put in a room. The staff seem decent but the complete disregard for my family's time is inconsiderate. Was referred here by my son's primary care doctor. Obviously, I'm not coming back. Saw a response from this place to another reviewer and they blamed the wait times on covid. No! Overbooking and greed causes long wait times. There were way too many people waiting there when I arrived. If you don't have the doctors then don't accept the appointments.

The staff are extremely unprofessional. No one answered the phone when we tried to call regarding our appointment, we finally reached someone three hours later. The staff seems confused on the tasks they are supposed to perform, and the doctor is average. The office itself is difficult to find. The lady assisting us spent ten minutes of the appointment trying to figure out who referred us after we told her that they were on a reference list from our doctor. The appointment was not timely by any means. There are many better places to get your eyes checked than here.

My review is not about the doctors, but the office itself. It is almost impossible to make an appointment! I honestly don't know how they have any patients. First time I tried several times and our doctor had to intervene and get us an appointment, she had a hard time too, but finally got through. Now I need a follow up and cannot get through. I'm trying a different doctor/office just because I can't seem to get an appointment. Very frustrating! I have babies, I can't spend hours waiting on the phone every day. I have never experienced anything like this before. I don't get it.

I had my first visit with Dr Kris Humphrey this week and I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the office The office staff were All very nice and very professional They all made me feel at ease Dr Humphrey was very very nice and took her time with me She explained everything I needed to know about my Glaucoma, and Cataracs The testing she had to do went very easy and I felt as if I had been her patient for a very long time I didn't have to wait to be called back for my appointment the office was rt on time I would definitely refer Dr Humphrey to anyone looking for an eye dr

I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for how difficult it was to schedule an appointment. It took me 2 days to get through. I was on hold waiting for over one hour. The call back system where you enter your number to keep your place in line doesn't work. Bedsides that, Dr Thomas and his staff were great! He helped my eye issues and I'm glad I finally was able to schedule a visit with him.

It's regarding how impossible it is to reach your office by phone. My son was prescribed a steroid for his eyes and he's supposed to have a follow up visit. It has been virtually impossible to get though. I have held, for more than an hour on more than one occasion. Today when I finally got through your receptionist was very rude and dismissive and did not care to hear my complaints.
Then she told me if I didn't answer her question regarding my address and contact information she was going to put me back in the queue because I was talking over her. I repeated said to her none of the information had changed since my last visit. Everything was the same. I said that repeatedly but she refused to proceed with making the appointment.
She asked to confirm my address and phone number. She rudely placed me back in the queue to wait some more and did not complete my appointment. I still do not have an appointment for my son. This is unacceptable practice. Why is it so hard to get someone to answer the phone at this practice. It just does not make sense. I even tried the option to have someone return my call. The recording said within 30 minutes. The call came an hour and 5 minutes later and I missed it. Again my son still does not have his follow up appointment.

This complaint is about your phone system which it is almost impossible to reach someone or get a call back. It is a real shame because I liked Dr. Humphrey and found her very knowledgeable and took her time to check my eyes very thoroughly. I had a problem with the new medicine she gave me and the next day had breathing problems so I tried to call her to no avail and no one call me back soI had to reach to my optometrist to call her and he could not reach either or had a return call so he prescribed a different medication. Hence the decision to cancel the next appointment. Dr. Humphrey is a good new Glaucoma specialist in this area and it is a real shame that your office doesn't give her a chance because of your horrible system and disregard of the patients and referring doctors.

The doctor was fabulous Dr Humphrey very meticulous, detail, went above my expectations The medical staff is worst than awful, extremely unprofessional, very tacky, I saw in one visit 5 different medical assistance, only one was fair, the rest was nasty, Even mentioned to the doctor, they think they are working flea market, i only remember one name miguel or something like that, very tacky ALL of THEM, i mean ALL of THEM! Orlando is the most tourist area in Florida, EVERYONE should be trained in perfecting costumer service top notch costumer service, but here is a flea market nasty staff. The office is gear to kids and there is nothing inviting for kids, not even soothing kids shows.

I had eye surgery here and the post-surgery care has been almost nonexistent. I've been calling for almost two weeks without ever once getting a hold of a live person and their automated callback system never calls me back. I left a voicemail on the prescription refill voice mail and have not heard back from anyone there either. I let them know that I was having postoperative issues and something seems not right and still waiting to hear back. Additionally, they overbilled me according to my own insurance company and they're arguing about that and do not want to give me the full refund of the difference. If I had it all to do over again I would go somewhere else.
