We are also proud to say there has been limited turnover in our staff over the last 40 years! We are dedicated to providing the parent an environment in which he or she can inquire about health concerns of his or her child or the manner of providing that medical care. Our staff registered nurses have extensive experience in pediatric medicine to support us in the care of your child. Our staff is available to help with any other concerns involving pediatric care.

Myrtle Avenue Pediatrics is welcoming all children in Clearwater and Oldsmar, Florida, and the surrounding areas, to provide them with the care and help they need. We are honored by your interest in our practice. Our board-certified Pediatricians have specialized training in the diseases and treatment of the newborn, infant, toddler, and adolescent.
Immunizations are designed to protect against serious illnesses ranging from polio and tetanus to measles, mumps, and the seasonal flu. Immunizations are vaccines made of either weakened or "killed" versions of the bacteria or virus that causes a particular disease. When these altered viruses and bacteria are injected or taken orally, the immune system mounts an attack that stimulates the body to produce antibodies. Once produced, the antibodies remain active in the body, ready to fight off the real disease.

In the past I never had an issue with calling in speaking to a nurse and getting an appointment if my child was feeling sick. As a fist time parent talking to a medical staff member about their symptoms was always helpful, and they were accommodating and fast when we decided they need to be seen.
Yesterday I called because my child (2 1/2 YOA) woke up with a swollen face and was unable to open his eyes. He was crying in pain and said his eye hurt.
I called immediately and told the nurse what was going on and that I was worried. She placed me on hold to look for an appointment time. The next thing I know, another female was on the line. Renea from their billing department jumped on and decided this was the proper time to ask me if I had followed up with the insurance company about a $200 payment due.
I was absolutely shocked that she found it appropriate to use that time to speak with me about billing. I didn’t even have a time of place where my child could be seen yet and she was demanding answers.
On a previous interaction with Renea we had talked about the misunderstanding between the insurance company. she was very rude and didn’t understanding why I wasn’t willing to pay the bill if the insurance was going to pay it. I ended up calling the insurance who advised her they needed her to file a document before sending the funds and it will all be straightened out. She claimed she sent the document and was asking me for follow up on it but demanded that I pay and that they would refund me once the insurance company pays them.
After telling her I would once again call the insurance company and do follow up for her on a document she sent. And told her this was an unprofessional and inappropriate time she place me back on hold.
I still have a sick crying child with me and I have no idea what’s wrong. I realized I couldn’t allow my child to be treated like a number and if they weren’t willing to take care of my child and his medical issue first that this isn’t the place for my family. I took him to a near by urgent care center.

Dr. Kelly is rude, condescending, and not willing to discuss any concerns. Furthermore, she has the attitude that the government and the doctors office should make decisions for your child's health and not you as the parent. Basically she offered us to do as she says or find another pediatrician group. She must have forgotten about her oath and just looking to be compensated for medications administered and sold. Dr. Savel was a pleasure in comparison.

I'm writing this with great disappointment. I've been taking my 3 month old to this office since he was born and haven't had a good experience at one visit. I kept bringing my son back because Dr. Savel was my pediatrician and wanted to give them a fair shot. After today I will never go back to this office. I went to do a weight check for my son and Dr. Savel didn't know anything about my son before the visit.
He's seen my son two other times. He made a comment that "he will see me at his one month visit". My son is three months old. He didn't know how old his patient was. This is very concerning because he did the whole evaluation thinking my son was 2 months younger than he is. To confirm I called the office to make sure he just maybe spoke incorrectly and he actually wrote in his chart that the next visit will be the 1 month check up.
The nurse seemed very embarrassed and stumbled over her words trying to assure me that my son was fine for his age. Savel also made a very inappropriate comment about a condition my son has that was very offensive. Aside from today, the doctors at this office always seem rushed and not interested in taking the time to answer questions. As a new Mom, I never got a compassionate or understanding feeling from any of the doctors.
A cherry on top is they charge Mother's to fill out a Post-Partum Depression evaluation that they don't even use or acknowledge during the visits. After today I have zero confidence that these doctors are competent or care about their patients and parents.

I came on here to confirm the hours for tomorrow as my son is sick and I am not sure if I have ever left a review so either way I wanted to give one. We have been bringing Rajon to Myrtle Avenue Pediatrics since he was born. This practice has been in our family for years and years and my nephews and cousins have also been going there. They are incredible.
We love all of the doctors as we see them all. The staff (during the day and after hours) have always been extremely helpful and compassionate no matter what the call or appointment was for. I will always highly recommend them and am proud and comfortable knowing they are a part of mine and my sons lives.

I was very nervous when we moved to the area about leaving our practice on the other coast of FL. As a first-time mom, a trustworthy pediatrician is especially necessary to ease the constant worrying and anxiety. I could not be more impressed with Myrtle Avenue Pediatrics. We immediately felt comfortable in both offices and after meeting every single doctor, I am absolutely thrilled with our new providers. I know that I can trust their opinions and never feel rushed through an appointment like so many other doctors. Highly recommend this practice!

We love Myrtle Avenue Pediatrics! My husband grew up going here so no doubt we decided to take our daughters. There is always someone to call back in a reasonable amount of time at any hour and help us. We are always able to get an appointment if I call the day of. I would highly recommend Myrtle Avenue pediatrics to anybody who wanted a great pediatricians office!

We were visiting from out of town when my son became sick and I really didn't want to go to urgent care. I understand why this practice got 5 stars.our experience was excellent. The office got us in within hot hour and was so friendly, organized and prompt. Dr. S was not only compassionate and thorough, but funny and amazing with our son. I only wish he was our pediatrician back home in Austin. He made going to the doctors easy and fun. Love this practice and highly recommend :

The doctors and staff are amazing at this office and the Clearwater office. They are open every day, even on weekend mornings, and they have late hours at the Clearwater office. I recently used the on call service late at night and Dr. Karen called me back within 5 minutes. They really care about their patients. I highly recommend this practice.

Love the staff, the doctors are incredible, the hours and availability to have your baby or child seen is excellent. Would highly recommend this pediatricians office to any of my friends or family. They treated my parents amazing when they came I for my son's initial visit, and they were also there when we needed them in the hospital after childbirth to check up on and explain anything we might need to know. Excellent service!!

Best pediatric office I've been to in the clearwater area! They took my son right in and spent time with getting to know not only my son but me as well! Wow! Just, WOW!!!!! ARNP Lisa was phenomenal this evening! It was great meeting her for the first time, and the great care my biggest kiddo received while she was sick just melted my heart! Front office was great too! It was only our 2nd time there, and from our first experience there too...you can just tell when you've walked into the best pediatric office ever! Made my kiddos well check-up appointments with ease too....so we shall be back, for a long time to come!

I have spent many hours, with ear infections, sore throats and horrible coughs visiting you from when I was a newborn to when I was home from college. Getting to go to the doctor as a child was never scary because I always knew I'd see the familiar faces of Myrtle Pediatrics when I got there.
