When considering an orthopedic surgeon or neurological spine surgeon, patients must be aware of the technology available to make sure that their spine surgery is done with the safest and most effective techniques. In this new and innovative era, patients like you have a multitude of options and some of the best allow them to be able to manage their spine problems by considering conservative treatment. If those conservative and preventative treatments fail, robotically assisted spine surgery at the Robotic Spine Institute of Las Vegas is the safest option as it allows for shorter recovery time and minimal blood loss in comparison to traditional techniques and procedures. With the data shown by the institute in Las Vegas, it has been proven that the benefits of robotically assisted spine surgery significantly outweigh the methods of traditional treatment. This phenomenon has raised the bar for spine surgery providers across the globe.

Best in town. I had a super complex & Dynamic condition. 3 Surgeons would not ouch it, but Dr Poelstra did accept my case, with the utmost professionalism that comes from Great training and confidence. An uneducated moron posted about Dr Coe not catching Pulmonary edema. I'd place the blame on the primary care and not Dr Coe. I but his Pc cleared him as Privides it a no brained.
It is not DR Coes fault but the Primary Care Dr, not the Surgeon. I've. Even in Orthopedic Dr. I caught a Bilateral PE with 90% occluded. Just by chance after I asked the ER to do a work up on him. Could have been bad. Do, if you are not educated in human physiology do NOT try and pretend you are.

I have been a longtime lower back pain sufferer and did the injections and med route a long time seeking to avoid surgery, but eventually time and the compression caught up with and I started envisioning myself in a wheelchair by 50 as I thought I waited too long and was possibly to far gone, but Dr. Poelstra had other plans for me. My expectations of surgery results were far exceded, and that is still an understatement!
I feel like my life and future has been transformed since the fusion. No more pain, meds, endless doctor appointments, or loss of work! Best decision I have made in my life was having Dr. Poelstra and his team perform this surgery. Thank you so much!

Dr Poelstra, did my Dads back surgery in April. I was a little skeptical at first. My Dad met him first and raved about his bedside manner and approach. I watched the video regarding the robotic back surgery and wanted to learn more. My dad ended up having the surgery by Dr. Poelstra and was up and walking same day as promised. It was a 2 part surgery and I was amazed how well my Dad did after surgery.
The doctor checked in with me during surgery (his nurse), and came to talk to me after. Dr. Poelstra is passionate about what he does and it shows in his work and the way he treats his patients. He had to earn my trust and now I'm letting the world know what a great surgeon he is. Nice guy and very smart. My father is still doing great. Happy with outcome. I would recommend to others who may need this type of surgery. Thank you Dr. Poelstra you are appreciated!

Dr. Poelstra did a level one lumber Fusion in my back in 2010 when he was located in Destin, FL. I had a double Fusion by another surgeon just below the one Dr. Poelstra did in 2002. Point is I was never without pain from the first surgery! Dr. Poelstra, while fusing the third facet, worked on the lower two to clean them up. Since the 2010 surgery by Dr. Poelstra, I have had no pain in my lower back!
This brings me to current time and my trip to Las Gatos, CA to see him again! A year and a half ago, I started having pain in my neck! Finally I had an MRI and Xrays for that area and they showed that i needed at least a double or triple fusion in the 3-4, 4-5 and the 5-6 joints! That started a search for a surgeon here in Destin where I live! I called Dr. Poelstra simply to get advice.
That led to my wife and I traveling to San Jose, CA for him to do this surgery as well. I am 74 years old and never thought I would do something like this but I knew he was the best! We went and he performed a triple fusion Friday morning Jan 24, 2020. Due to his expertise and a program director named Lara Cooper who works at the Good Samaritan Hospital as "The Spine Navigator" I spent that night in the hospital and was released the next morning!
When I awoke Friday afternoon from that morning's surgery, I had no pain in my neck. NONE! As I am writing it has been 13 days since this operation and I still have no pain and except for a ridged collar I have to wear for six weeks, I cannot believe I had an operation! We have been back home in DESTIN for four days! If you go on line and read about new materials and procedures he has pioneered, you will know better why we would travel so far to have him involved! Going to have Dr. Poelstra do this operation was the best decision I have made in years!
We lost his brilliance, wit and warmth at our beach, but he is sharing his brilliance with the world in his new position! And a special shout out to Jessica Bethlahmy, his assistant, who helped make this trip easy! George Hendricks

Dr Poelstra is in a class of his own. I have never experienced bedside manner like his. He came strongly recommended and I saw as to why right when I came into the office. One patient was finishing up their appointment talking about how much better they felt after surgery. I was worried about the surgery part until. He took the time to listen to my activity level, my pain, and my goals.
He offered conservative treatment instead of pushing me to surgery. Although I think at some point I will need surgery I really appreciate Dr. Poelstra being willing to conservatively treat my problem instead of signing me up for surgery right away. I am hopeful I won't need surgery but if I do Dr. Poelstra will be the only doc allowed to do it!
