A management licence authorises a legal entity or an individual to conduct a radiation practice. Our radiation safety specialists can assist with obtaining or making changes to your radiation management licence as well as review your management to ensure that your licence is accurate and suggest areas where there can be a cost saving.
Not all units are prescribed radiation sources. However, regular testing is considered best practice. Radiation Safety Testing allows you to know that your unit is working as it should and can assist with accreditation programs. Radiation Safety Testing is available for: intra-oral dental units, OPG and cephalometric units, Nuclear Medicine and PET units.
Our medical physicists can complete a radiation shielding design for new facilities or when you are replacing a unit to ensure that all your staff, patients and visitors are safe. We can also determine the existing shielding at your practice and assist with licencing your practice. From imaging the wrong patient or pregnant patients to abnormal personal radiation monitoring results, we can complete a radiation dose assessment and provide advice on regulatory reporting requirements and patient follow-up.
