Hillside Family Medicine - John M Nolte

I am new to this clinic and see Dr Stewart. I started going here because my Dr retired and I heard about their stance with helping COVID patients. I had COVID before seeing them and my Dr said I couldn't be seen and there was nothing to be done. A year later I contracted COVID again and Dr Stewart saw me in person, gave me many options for my recovery.

We selected one and it was very successful. I am very grateful, I was very ill yet I felt cared for and am doing great. She is a champion in my eyes, a leader in her field and a woman to be admired. Thank you for your strength our community needs more Dr's like Dr Stewart.

Really appreciate waking up my newborn baby to come down for blood work for an appointment your staff made. If your procedures call for a patient who hasn't been seen in 5 years to be seen my an appointment first you should teach ALL staff members this and to get updated information as you had my phone number wrong. When I asked her to have some compassion I just woke up a sleeping baby to get to my appointment she didn't remotely care.

I had an appointment scheduled for next Friday the soonest YOU could get me in, there was no reason you couldn't make an exception. You're a family practice, have some heart.

My appointment today was canceled mere hours before my scheduled time. The office staff said that I owed 85 dollars for an appointment I missed in May and could not be seen. There was no mention of this when I made the appointment. Regardless, in May I was forced to cancel my appointment due to an emergency. I canceled several days before the appointment time.

On the day of that May appointment I received a message about my appointment. A family member stopped by their office to clear this up and was told that they had dropped the ball on their end and I would not be charged. I have voicemail text from their office stating this is what happened. Now, 6 months later I am being told I owe for the May appointment. Very unethical and unprofessional.

My family has been patients at Hillside for almost a decade. We have always had very positive interactions with the doctors and staff. We usually see Dr. John, Dr. Miriam or Dr. Wilson. A routine physical in their office 4 years ago saved my life. Dr. Wilson found a small lump on my breast. She encouraged me to go right way for imaging. I was diagnosed with breast cancer less than 2 weeks later. Our family is thankful for Dr. John Nolte, Dr. Miriam Nolte, and Dr. Julie Wilson and their office staff. Thank you for all you do!

We have had great care from Dr. Julie Wilson for years. However we can not support a clinic whose co-founder Dr. John Nolte helped to organize an anti Covid vaccine gathering. Such disregard for our community is astounding from a medical professional. We will be taking our care to another clinic.

I have been a patient at this clinic for 25 years. When I visited on Oct. 12, the staff asked me if I was vaccinated for Covid-19 and I was happy to tell her yes. I then found out the owner is a public anti-vaxxer. I called to ask if my physician was vaccinated, and she incorrectly cited HIPAA law saying she did not have to tell me. The hypocrisy is a deal-breaker.

The entire staff is FANTASTIC! I only see female doctors, and every single one at this practice is understanding, patient, and helps you advocate for your own choice and education in your healthcare. The desk staff deals with everything efficiently and politely, even the most awkward health problems are just day to day and part of taking care of you. I would recommend Hillside to everyone!

I've been here to see both Dr. Julie Wilson and Dr. Julie Stewart for multiple health appointments and I would never go anywhere else. They are both wonderful and so informative. I recently had an IUD placed with Dr. Julie Stewart and she couldn't have made the experience better. She wasn't only efficient but made sure I was as comfortable as I could be and took extra measures to make somewhat of a painful experience laughable and quick.

The doctors take extra time to make sure you leave feeling like all of your questions are thoroughly answered. The nurses there also have the best bedside manner and are very sweet. And for the girls at the front, me also working as a medical receptionist, I can tell it's very busy up there for them but when you check in/out they're sure to give you their full attention and handle it with grace and ease. Would give more stars if I could.

Our family of five has come her for our medical needs for the last five or six years. I have been here a few times already with my older two children this school year. When our youngest daughter came down with strep, I called at 8:00 (when they open) for one of their same day appointments. I was told "sorry, your daughter hasn't been here recently enough to get a same day appointment." They explained that it did not matter that she needed a simple test and prescription for a painful and potentially dangerous condition that she has right now.

What was important was that the youngest daughter has not been to Hillside Family Medicine in three years, and they can charge a much higher fee if they classify her as a "new patient" and do a new patient appointment. (Of course, they did not explain it in financial terms. I am reading between the lines.) The new patient appointment takes a lot longer, and they cannot schedule those as part of their same day appointments. On a positive note, the medical staff have always been great.

I have been a patient here for several years, and was pretty happy with them. However, when I called in looking for an appointment in near incapacitating pain, I was dismissed because I had recently travelled and didn't have a negative COVID test yet. I've already recently had it, so I was not required to test. While they offer tele health appointments, that option was not presented to me until the next day when I called to address my concerns on the matter (neither was getting a rapid test and being seen after the result came back). See, I'm a pilot, so having a doctor that won't see patients that have travelled is a complete non-starter.

For what it's worth, since then I have been seen by multiple medical professionals in the last three days, all of which will see people who have recently travelled, and all of whom are a little horrified that my doctor's office dismissed me the way that they did. What finally pushed me to write this review was the follow up call I got from them today.

I was hoping to discuss the issue with my doctor or the office manager. That request was completely ignored, and the person that called me was rude, dismissive, and never once listened to me. I've rarely been treated that way at any time in my life, and NEVER by a doctor's office. I've never submitted a Google review, but this experience was enough of a motivation for me.

Go somewhere else. You can find someplace where people are genuinely concerned for your well-being, instead of just the dollars your represent. Independence Park Medical Center is right down the road and were happy to get me in right away. I don't know if I'll stay there long term or not, but I was relieved that they could see me. While Independence Park has COVID protocols, they at least make sense. In two more days I can get a copy of my medical records, and I will never return.
