I brought my husband here for an outpatient procedure. When I came to check on him, a nurse starts screaming like a wounded animal at me from across the lobby "you have to wear a mask! You have to wear a mask!" The entire room starts staring at me. Mind you, I had surgery 3 weeks ago at a different practice and masks were not required. I told her I didn't have one.

One of the nicer staff members pulled out a box and calmly handed one to me. I don the mask and I said "I just need to check on my husband he's been in the OR for very long." Then she starts flailing her hand and shaking her head at some random person who wasn't even sitting down at the counter-like I'm supposed to read her mind and know what she means.

I understand the mask thing in a surgical setting. I was happy to put a mask on as soon as I had one. What is unacceptable and unprofessional is yelling at a patient's family from across the lobby and making everyone around you-including other patients nervous. I also want to note that my husband is on staff at this hospital. If they treat me this way, imagine how they'll treat you. Patients have a choice which hospital they go to, consider your options.

On April 8th I visited West Boca Medical with a painful bout of trigeminal neuralgia. The Doctor prescribed my typical medicine for this. She mentioned if a refill was needed to reach out to her. Four days later the pain was still a problem and I was close to being out of the medicine. I called West Boca Medical to reach the Doctor and get a refill of the prescription.

I was told she was unavailable but if I come to the front desk they could assist. I drove back and at the front desk was informed she was not available, but one of the other Doctors could assist with the prescription refill but I'd need to wait inside. I was brought to an exam room waited a half hour, a Doctor came in. I explained to him the history of my visit 4 days earlier and he gave me the prescription refill.

I received a $1258.00 bill for a prescription refill. My insurance paid $977.00, but this is outrageous. I appealed twice but received no relief. This is a perfect example of why health costs are out of control. I will do my best to never have to use West Boca Medical ever again.

3 of my children were born at Boca West and it was a wonderful experience. They have great nurses and doctors. I had my own room all 3 times and my spouse or mom could stay with me. Target is across the street as well as some fast food options close by. Centrally located to almost everything

When I was out of town in March, my mother had to bring my 2 year old daughter into West Boca for dehydration. At that time no insurance was presented so I was billed a cash pay rate of $1505. I called into Billing later on when I received this bill to explain to them that I did have insurance but was not in town at the time and I asked if it would be cheaper to pay the $1505 cash pay or use the insurance.

The rep reassured me that its best to use the insurance, I said I have had experiences in the past where that isn't the case and am okay with paying the $1505 if its the cheapest route. She said Billing the insurance is still the better way to go, well low and behold I received a new bill for the same exact services rendered for $2900+. The worst part about this is no one in the billing department is being helpful.

I still have an emailed bill showing $1505 and a physical bill showing $1505 but they pretending like it doesn't exist and are refusing to adjust my Bill back down to $1505. It is insane to me how unhelpful the billing department has been and there is no supervisor to speak to. How does this make any sense? Do they work off commission or something?

If there is any level headed person that works in the Billing department that is willing to actually HELP me please reach out. I feel like real customer service etiquette is completely lost in this day and age.

The security department of this hospital is absolutely terrible, they wouldn't let me bring up my daughter who is a minor to see my mother who has dementia. Anton, and another woman (security guards) gave her the pass. Than refused to let her up. Mind you my mother has been asking to see my youngest daughter. I understand letting up visitors 1 at a time but having a 14 year old girl sit alone in the lobby is ridiculous.

Especially because she has been let up by other security staff during the week. It's is just the woman who works during the weekend. My eldest daughter went to see her grandmother as well but she also had an issue with the same security and she wrote a review. The head of security "Margarita" almost has not helped in this situation whatsoever, they claim that they are there to help you but it's almost like you're on your own. these people don't really care for there patients or the families. I'm hurt by the way I've been treated and the way my family has been treated.

I would like to thank the West Boca Medical Center for the care I received this past week. Angelica ligas goes above and beyond for you. She is professional, caring, and treats you like a family member. The whole staff is so friendly and caring, Also Antonella is a superb nurse. Dr Boca is simply the best, he really cares about his patients and makes sure you understand everything that can happen. I highly recommend this hospital.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST! The bed side manner of SOME of the nurses on the 3rd floor was DEPLORABLE! My wife had surgery and needed frequent visits from the nurses. One nurse rolled her eyes and sighed when I asked if my wife could have some water. they barely checked in on her, and did not give her pain medication she was PRESCRIBED before leaving the hospital. it had been 6 hours since her last dose.

If you value good bed side manner and not dealing with a bunch of selfish staff on the 3rd floor. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Find another hospital! You will spare yourself the disappointment and PHYSICAL PAIN.we (my wife) had to experience

My stay at this hospital was the worst. When I came my the emergency in Coconut Creek I just know the hospital would be a nice as this office. I did not sleep at all. As you see the mattress are horrible. It was like sleeping on a metal plate. I asked for another bed and the night nurse said no this is your bed and I am not switching. Later that morning my husband came and saw the bed, and went to nurses desk a request for a new bed.

That nurse did it right away. This bed a still not good either. After the nurses gave the other patient a sodium chlorine injection they left them in the sink all day. With blood all over them. This hospital is nasty. If you go to the Coconut Creek office on state rd west Boca Emergency office, and you need to get admitted this is the hospital you will be transported too. Then worst hospital I have ever been in my life. The doctor did not know what I had. They said we think it is pneumonia but not sure.

I am so very disappointed in the way the staff in this hospital treat patients and family. my wife was recently admitted for sever abdominal pain, the staff ignored her repeated requests for ice chips, help to get to the restroom, pain medication. The hospital is all about efficiency and profit. They have open and empty rooms yet pile patients double into each room making it uncomfortable and even dangerous given the ongoing pandemic. they seemed to forget that patients are human beings that are going through what is likely a very difficult time both physically and emotionally. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone and will make sure I go elsewhere in the future.

I went to the ER with my mom as she was found blood in her urine and appeared to be bleeding. Because she was not in pain, not screaming and not bleeding a lot, I drove her to the ER and we walked in. We filled out the paperwork and waited. Over 2 HOURS later, someone (not a doctor) came over to ask her for a sample, but would not say when she could see a doctor.

When questioned, they became defensive and would not help. I got upset, yelled, and the guy said "I don't get paid for this." that was the last straw and we left. we found 1 of those private, quick, walk-in clinics. we went and my mom was seen asap and helped. Stay away from the ER. They are no help and do not want to help people.

I took my mom to the emergency room today and I have to say, from the moment we walked in, they brought her a wheelchair and was very comforting and attentive. Once, brought back to the examining area, the nurses and doctors were a pleasure to deal with. I recommend this hospital (at least the ER dept)

I had the unfortunate experience of having emergency gallbladder surgery at this hospital. If I could give negative stars I would. From the moment I was admitted until I left it was a nightmare. Waited hours for medication as I was in excruciating pain. The nurse button is apparently there for show because no one responds. I had to get up out of my bed to help my elderly roommate who was very scared and had been screaming for water for over an hour.

The go to answer from everyone was " let me check I'll be right back". They never came back. The nurse actually got mad at me and gave me an attitude when she couldn't find a vein to draw blood. The room was filthy (see attached photos) I will never go back or let any of my family go there either. I understand Covid left a shortage of staff but there is no excuse for the terrible way I and others were treated. Go somewhere else.

My family member was a patient at West Boca Medical Center. I have a few items to share with you that were very frustrating. 1. I had to explain over and over to multiple staff over several days that my family member has cognitive issues. I am his healthcare surrogate and power of attorney. Your staff still continued to run medical diagnosis through him instead of me. 2.

I asked that an GI specialist run tests on my brother for his constant vomiting. Your staff told me that the GI specialist only asked him questions and ran no tests. The specialist asked a person with cognitive issues questions without conversing with me. 3. The following issue is probably the most frustrating issue that I am aware of. Your center transferred my family member to a skilled nursing facility without asking me if the place was convenient or proper.

Your center sent a person with cognitive issues to a skilled nursing facility without telling me the name of the facility. I had to contact you to find the location of my love one. I think this transfer was handled extremely poor. I wish there was a way to get this message to the CEO of your center. I do not expect anything to come from this message and that is truly sad.

I received a letter today from West Boca Medical Center. As to be expected, the letter included misunderstandings. For example, West Boca Medical Center transferred my family member to a rehab facility without telling me, the health care surrogate, what facility they were sending him to. I only realized what facility my family member was sent to when my other family member visited the facility.

In West Boca Medical Center's (WBMC) letter it reads that WBMC talked with me about a transfer. True we did talk about a transfer in general but not about a specific location. Why did WBMC send my family member to Boynton Beach when he lives in Deerfield Beach. WBMC failed to tell me the specific location they sent my family member. That is the failure.

The nurses here are Amazing! Great experience! Delivered my baby here and I can't say I have one complaint! The nurses were all super nice and attentive from the beginning of my stay right until the end! The maternity ward /private suite was nice! I loved everyone of the nurses especially Mary! She was great! : Thank you ladies for making my experience so great!

I was a little skeptical after seeing some of the reviews but I'm super glad my experience was amazing! O and the lactation consultants were so patient and informative. Thanks again for giving us a great delivery experience ladies!

I could not pass up an opportunity to give 5 stars to one particular nurse at West Boca Medical Center. Her name is Shana and I couldn't believe how pleasant she was no matter what was thrown at her. She cared for me like no other. I was amazed at how she could handle multiple tasks and still take more requests from other patients. Always happy, always smiling. If you need to go to the WBMC, I hope you are as lucky as I was.

I walked in and was greeted by someone who looks like they hate their job. I work in a hospital, I'm not always in the mood, but my patients never know that. I make sure of that. It's called being professional. The wait time wasn't so bad keeping in mind that with the COVID spike, hospitals are understaffed and very busy. My issue was not with the nurses who were very kind and hard working.

My issue was with the physician. He told me all my labs came back normal and was extremely confident that I had COVID. My COVID test came back negative and I looked at my labs and everything was not okay. I was misdiagnosed and wasn't sent home with any medication. My blood pressure was 174/111 and he never mentioned that to me. There was a bacteria found in my urine and I was never told of that.

Those are just 2 examples to name a few. All they treated me for was tachycardia and that was it. I left feeling more anxious and confused. Never going back. Wouldn't recommend anyone else going either. This wasn't the first time someone in my family had a terrible experience.

AWESOME -I feel it is necessary to commend an amazing doctor Dr. Huma Ali. I have had the pleasure of dealing with her for numerous years. She is professional, caring and will always go above and beyond. She had helped my family with difficult decisions and has ALWAYS treated us like family. Dr. Ali has a very special gift COMPASSION. There are very few doctors that possess this gift and she has been blessed with this. Dr Ali we can't thank you enough for your hard work and medical expertise. Christine Parrella McBride.

I went to ER after experiencing chest pain and if was a waste of precious time. The ER barely did anything and after 4 hours laying in bed they told me that I will be spending the night for observation. I was taken to a regular room with no monitor on during transfer and didn't saw a nurse until an hour after arriving on the floor. I called a family member who is a RN to ask if this is normal procedure and it wasn't until she contacted the administration department that's when they came running.

It took the nurse 1 hour to register my information as it seems like it was her first day on the job then came the expenses which doesn't match up with their service. Over rated!

I am blessed to have Angelica Ligas as one of the great nurse who took care of me in West Boca Hospital. Angelica treats me like a family. It was not easy to be sick but she made it easy by showing her care an and love to me. I highly recomend west Boca Hospital and make sure to look for Angelica. I am very happy with her service and the whole medical team such a great and wonderful nurse.

I'm currently a patient in this hospital and I'm fearing for my well being. People are literally screaming for help and the workers are are coming in and saying there is nobody here to help them. There is a few hour period between shifts where there is no nurses to help the patients. I was here with a gastro issue and I was in a room with a 85 year old man for 12 hour before receiving my positive COVID test after taking 2 separate tests.

I have been without iv medication for about 4 hours today because nobody is here to fix my malfunction machine. The nurses I have spoken too are overworked and unable to help patients properly. Please somebody help us! I feel like a prisoner not a patient. If your reading this please have a heart and help us instead of the generic response every other review has on here.

They get 1 start because the staff was friendly when I arrived. They did see me in a reasonable amount of time. And they did call with most of my results the same day. That's where the professionalism ends. I was told my throat culture would take a few extra hours as would my covid exam. Well my covid exam was sent to me via text from the dept of health later the next day which is also fine but still no result from throat culture so I called back the evening of the second day.

I was told they are too busy and would call me back shortly. About 3 hours went by so I called back. Still too busy but they would call back later. Midnight rolled around and still no call so tried a third time. Again the same. Waited until the morning of the third day and called back only to be told they wouldn't call me with results, if need to call medical records.

I called medical records and they said they can't give results over the phone but sidestep I call the ER who I just spoke with so I called back the ER. They told me to go online and create a customer portal. That doesn't exist so I guess I will just never know if I had strep or not. Thanks for nothing. I'm sure my insurance was charged a fortune as well.

So I am a licensed CNA in the state of Florida and I have been to many hospitals in south Florida. I was sent here by an Urgent Care physician for not being able to breathe and having a heavy chest. It was covid related but also an emergency. I walked in and was greeted by the security guard and I could barely breathe and I handed him my id and filled out the paper accordingly.

I then said "it's covid related breathing issues" as I was huffing and puffing. They then threw me and my girlfriend in a covid waiting room for 2 hours without even coming to check on me. They never even came to take my vitals as I'm visibly having breathing issues. In my experience as a CNA, usually breathing issues and chest pains should be taken with extremely caution.

There wasn't a lot of people in the waiting room and two other people waiting with me in the covid area. When I walked out to ask for my ID so I could leave they looked at me crazy. They then asked for my name and then I waited another 10 minutes for my Id. How on earth y'all made someone with chest pains and breathing issues wait that long without even getting vitals taken is beyond me. Horrible experience, would never ever suggest to anyone to go there.

As a CNA I was furious because I'm luckily 20 and usually extremely healthy, if I had a compromised immune system and or elderly, I really would've had a true medical emergency in the waiting room. Horrible experience would not recommend for anyone

Came at 6:23pm took more than 3 hour just to be seen by a doctor. Reason: my case was not consider severe to be seen with priority. Which I understood but waiting for 3hr, I think is abusive. Funny thing is that I went to a urgent clinic and they told me to go to the hospital. This is abusive for the parent and for the kid, that they have to wait 3-4 hr just because their case is no severe as per the nurse that do the traige.

Who determine what is an emergency? Does the triage nurse consult the cases with the doctor to determine what is an emergency.? I work for a hospital as a doctor and is so sad that my son has to suffer and be on pain, just because he was no that sick. I'm not pretending to be vip because I am a physician (I never introduce myself as a doctor) but this Really bad experience for son, that was looking for something to make him feel better. At least the doctor was nice and make my son smile after all.

My 92 year old aunt finally let me take her to the ER after I bought a home test for Covid & she tested positive. She had stopped taking a z-pak that morning and by midnight she could barely breathe. ai pull up to the front of the emergency department and the guard gets a wheel chair to help my aunt in. Meanwhile, the nurse at the front desk was courteous and swift, helping find my aunt's records.

We went straight into a bay and the nurses brought several blankets. The ER doc was thorough and concerned about some of my aunt's lab results. Everyone made a scary situation much easier to deal with. Many thanks!

This is absolutely the worst hospital in America. They defied my doctors orders, they stopped surgery at the last second, you cannot talk to anyone in the billing department because they scream at you and talk over you and charge you for things you never received. I was held against doctors orders and against my will and they tried to charge me $57,000 for four hours in a room that was so filthy it had not been even swept or mopped in months. no one checked on me or brought me water or food even though I had not had anything to eat in 24 hours no one helped me to the bathroom and I finally managed to get dressed and had to leave against medical advice.

The charge nurse was defensive and didn't help and I took pictures to send to the hospital administrator. Loved my surgeon but the fact that he uses this nightmare of a hospital probably because it's cheaper for him to use means I will never go back to him. Do you like being held against your will and a room so filthy that you would not let a rabid dog stay in it?, then this is the place for you but if you expect even moderate amount of cleanliness or a nurse to check on you or bring you water then avoid this place at all cost. Trying to get through to anyone there is an effort in futility trying to find someone that speaks English or someone that doesn't just scream at you and not let you get in a word.

Our other hospitals in Boca Raton Florida so I have no idea why this one has not been shut down and obviously no one ever checks the rooms for cleanliness because this room had obviously not even been swept or mopped in months. And after a few hours there of the worst non-care in the world they sent me a bill for $57,000? Had already paid my surgeon and you have to pay the anesthesiologist separately. Hospital and the personnel is like something out of a bad horror movie

HORRIBLE! I came here from their freestanding ER building off of University Drive which is very nice facility compared to this building. I immediately complained regarding the poor maintenance and conditions of the room to the nurse. The nurse acted as if she didn't understand what I was talking about and said to me that the paint on the walls isn't peeling, that the walls are chipped and that she only works here. Really?.

I told her this was not acceptable and that NO hospital room should not look this way. I refused treatment and checked myself out to go to another hospital. If Boca West doesn't care about the overall appearance and maintenance of their patience rooms and hospital, why would I put my health, treatment, and care in their hands. I'm so disgusted and disappointed with this hospital. Where is the health board and code enforcement? Something needs to be done about this place.

BIRTHCARE FACILITY: This hospital is beyond AMAZING, forget about Boca Regional, so far this is way above their "new" facility. For starters my husband was sold on their security system where they put tags on mom and baby and if the baby goes too close to the windows or doors, their security system will go off, and believe me, the staff is on top of it.

We also love how you don't loose sight of your baby, as your newborn stays in the same room all the time. Dads get a sofa bed which a lot of hospitals don't offer. Finally, the night nurses are just as nice as the day nurses.

Nurses didn't turn patient, who ended up with a painful bedsore that is delaying progress and still not healed after weeks of treatment in a fine acute hospital. West Boca hospital told family (who were not allowed to visit) that patient was doing fine. But bedsores are a sign of hospital neglect. Beware

Unfortunately this hospital is 5 minutes from my house, so the EMT's took me there. That being said, I went twice by ambulance from having a seizure. The EMT's told the nurses it was a drug overdose, EVEN though both times my drug screen came back positive. There are some nurses who are amazing, and then some who treat you like garbage honestly.

I fell the second time, and my roommate was a fall risk also, so we had 24 nursing in the room. They were all amazing.truly perfect. I ended up AMA'ing the second time because it took 2 days for the neurologist to show up. I had enough.

All I can say is I will not go to West Boca Medical Center if I could avoid it. I checked into the hospital last night around 7 PM and I am not seeing a doctor and it is now 10 AM, apparently the staff thought that I had a panic attack because my vitals were OK. This is something I've never experienced before so I reluctantly excepted their diagnosis.

Finally after i've been in the hospital for 16 hours and never once have I personally not seen a doctor at my bedside and or even spoken to the doctor. If you're looking for a good hospital I would suggest to go to Northwest Medical Center on 441 This is been a horrible experience and I personally will not ever come back to West Boca Medical Center ever again! Sincerely Joe Whitefall

Had to take my friend to the West Boca Emergency room Sunday. Unfortunately the experience was not a good one. We checked in with the front desk employee. She seemed to have an attitude, not personable at all. I understand she has to deal with the public but she should be better trained, position requres a little compassion. Even asking for a blanket for a waiting elderly spouse in cold waiting room while his wife was in er seemed like an imposition.

I asked instead G4S security guard who immediately jumped to get blanket, covered elderly man himself with blanket, even moved direction of fan. He was awesome. In the actual er, they seemed to be attentive at first but then it went downhill. The attendee listed my friends current meditations incorrectly in system. He took a photo copy of written list we provided.

Not only careless but dangerous. My friend was admitted for overnight stay. They never even offered her a gown she had to sleep in her clothes! Never offered toothbrush, face cloth or any type of sanitary cleansing for herself. My friend designated from list for dinner and breakfast what she wanted. She said food was terrible and not what she requested.

Something so simple as my friend requesting hot tea but was served coffee. She was told she was served what was available since she was not a cardiac patient. The response was rude and abrupt. Her nurse was exhausted since she had been working since 4am. She was having trouble getting to all the patients. My friend told the poor nurse to help the others before her they needed her more. Totally unacceptable! West Boca needs a bigger staff and better training. We will go to different hospital in future.

I am ABSOLUTELY SICK TO MY STOMACH! DO NIT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU HAVE COVID! They misdiagnosed my best friends son. Thank God he went to Boca Regional! He's been diagnosed w/COVID PNEUMONIA! He was spitting up blood & mucus last night & they sent him home with a Z-pack & said to see his GP. WT HELL! ER Docs at Boca Regional said he's lucky that he's in their care now. Worst hospital ever. My daughter is in labor and only one person is able to go back meanwhile I'm sitting here waiting for her to be admitted and two people are going back at a time. I asked security so why do two people get to go back but we can't. Oh their going to Nicu. Really? I'm sorry but I believe you would be more concerned of two people in nicu rather than in delivery.

Their lifting the requirements for nicu but not for regular labor and deliver. My son hasn't been able to go in for a single ultrasound to see his baby this is their first child and he missed the entire experience. Let's clear up my review. The nurse is wonderful and has been outstanding. My review has nothing to do with the nurse. In general the lifting of restrictions should also be for labor and delivery.

Well I am a bit confused on this one. I'm a easy going guy and let most go by. But was a little turned off to this whole adventure to WBMC. Let's just say the facility itself is clean and neat. Some of the staff not so. Appointment for tests to be done was at 11:30 and was told to arrive at 10:30 so I did. The guard when coming in was nice after that the staff not so.

The wait time to meet with the person to register me was quick to get us in but the things that were said and done to us during was a bit rude. Then asked to wait outside and someone would be right down and they came within minutes to then explain to me that I had to drink the barium drink for the test so I would have to wait in my car or lobby till 1pm to be seen.

So we took my lovely drink and went home. Not sure why they wouldn't make it a little easier and inform us the day or so before to come and get the drink and drink it before coming like the other places do. So you wouldn't have to sit in your car or lobby that long. So came back at 12:45 to make sure I was there before 1pm when someone would be down to get me. Sat for 20-25 minutes and when we tried to go to the desk to ask if they would be down soon the woman at the desk was. well let's say just not very kind at all and not interested at all to offer help.

So thankfully within a few minutes the tech showed up to take me in. Once in the room was told I'll be done in a few minutes turned into a heck of a lot longer than that. For one the person couldn't get the needle in my arm or find a vein for over 5 minutes I felt like a pin cushion.

We had our 2nd baby here and it's been a great experience both times. The staff is friendly and accommodated my wife's every need. You really have to remember the hours that these nurses work and what they have to go through, they have multiple patients to attend to and they're doing their best. This isn't a hotel or restaurant so they're not working on gratuities, they literally care for you and your well-being.

The rooms were fairly large with 2 beds with a private bathroom, wish they had mini fridges though. If you're the husband or support, definitely bring some type of entertainment to pass some of the down time. Also I recommend bringing a pillow, blanket and food/snacks from home. Meals are only served to the patient and surprisingly very good from what she said, looked good too.

If you have second thoughts about this hospital, don't, I would certainly return here again if I need to but I'm done having kids. Great experience overall from the facility, nurses to the doctors.

Came in with a severe allergic reaction and they were so amazing to me. The are somethings that can be done better. I have to admit this is a far cry from how they were before. I was attended to immediately and the doctor at the freestanding facility had AMAZING BEDSIDE MANNERS! The place looks like they are trying to update but they are not yet on my floor lol.

The TV is the tiniest I have seen outside of those carseat monitors for kids you put on your headrest in the car. The people on the floor are so nice and are willing to help along the way. I haven't had to ask for a simple item yet. Certain items had already been placed in my room. Super happy to see them doing better. I have had some experiences here that were not too great but they definitely are on the right path!
