Early Myopia intervention can help your child now and reduce their eye health risks. We offer non-surgical treatments proven to help your child. Researchers believe that the environment kids grow up in today, with too many close distance activities (like reading and device use) and lack of outdoor play is contributing to the rapid increase in childhood myopia.

I truly love my experiences here. It feels uncommon nowadays to have a practitioner take their time with a patient. My visits here are never rushed and you can tell the physicians really listen to you and make suggestions based on your needs and desires. They actually ask you what you want, which is so valuable in making choices regarding your health. Definitely recommend.

I am satisfied with the level of care I received at Fed Hill Eye Care. My specialist (Solomon) was helpful as well the gentleman (who's name I don't remember) that assisted me with choosing my frames. The front desk service was on point also. So, why only 4 stars? It takes something especially memorable for me to give a 5 star rating. Nevertheless, I do recommend FHEC for your eye care needs.

I didn't have a good experience. The optical department didn't assist with my insurance and I had to prove that my employer gives more than they were crediting me. She treated me as if I were lying, couldn't believe I worked where I worked, and then changed her tone once she verified. My glasses and shades were late a few weeks and it was my goal to get both before I head to Hawaii.
I called to check on the status, and was told someone would call me back. That never happened. On the day of the pickup (1/24/22), the receptionist (woman with brown hair and mask not covering her nose) was rude and treated me as if I wasn't worthy of being in her presence. The doc was nice when I had my initial exam, which is why I didn't give them a 1 star, but the staff aren't helpful until they learn of what I do and where I work. I do not recommend people come here.

Federal Hill Eye Care is one of the best eye doctors I've been to! As a person who has been in glasses/contacts since for almost 20 years, I have seen numerous eye doctors over the years and believe that Dr. Klasman and Dr. Solomon are top notch doctors. Their office staff has impeccable customer service and their doctors have been very attentive when issues occurred and are very thorough in their examinations to make sure you are taken care of. I'd highly recommend them.

Just had one of the most pleasant experiences. I was visiting Baltimore from New York, and on my way to Baltimore I realized that I forgot my contacts at home! When I got to Baltimore, looked for a local optometrist that I could purchase contacts from. After calling around, most places couldn't get any orders in in time to give me lenses for same day.
Feeling rather defeated, I called Federal Hill Eye Care where the receptionist was so eager to help. They ended up giving me enough contacts for my entire trip, and didn't even charge me for the lenses! For any locals looking for a local optometrist, I would highly recommend this business for their empathy, and incredible customer service!

I got contacts for the first time here and have been going for a couple years now. Had my annual exam there today and Dr. Scott Klasman tweaked my prescription a bit to be even better for me. Dr. Klasman is very friendly, thoughtful, and professional. They also have good covid precautions and procedures in place.

A late review: I was a patient about 3-4 for years ago. I had a temporary issue where I would have this brief moments of double vision. Knowing my family history, I mentioned this as it could have been the sign of something serious. The doctor did catch the nerve opening being different, asked for more exams. Nothing too serious was present, was told to get regular checkups.
All this was a wonderful experience. I love when doctor's are more cautious then me. My prescription, on the other hand, was just wrong. It was adjusted according to the doctor, because of the complaints I had, those brief moments of double vision. I tried the glasses on but they weren't right. So I went several times after that to get them corrected.
I believe I went 3 more times and in the last visit, I took my old prescription and said I'm extremely comfortable with these numbers. I still ended up with a pair of glasses that weren't right, that were still worse than my old prescription. I was told that it could take some time to get used to them. So after my last visit I said I would give it time.
So I did. I have spent 3 years with these glasses that costed me 700$. And guess what, even after 3 years they were still not right. I kept switching to my old pair. I believe I have given enough time to get used to this pair of glasses and have the right to write this review. The service, the help, the patience. Everything else was so nice in this place. Hence the three stars.
If I went there a 5th time they might have tried to fix it again. But over 20 years with glasses I never had to visit an optician twice in the same year. So clearly something didn't went right with my visits. 3 years later, I'm living in another city, visited a different optician. It took 1 visit to get a pair of glasses that didn't require any adjustment period at all. Sharper and better from the moment I put them on just like my old glasses.

Was not satisfied with the service here. Eye appointment was rushed and did not result in improved vision. After I had been seen, I was told the systems were down and I would not be able to get my prescription. After calling back several times, I was told that the systems were still down; no one ever offered to proved a handwritten prescription. When I suggested this, I was told that the optometrist only came in on Saturdays and there was no way to get the information during the week (even if I e-mailed him directly).
A month and three weeks after my appointment, my last call prompted someone e- mailing an incomplete prescription, omitting the base curve and diameter information for my contact lenses. Felt like there were many barriers at this eye care center; I don't recommend this location if you want a thorough exam resulting in clear vision.

I've had all good experiences at Federal Hill Eye Care over the past few years. Dr Dean is smart and caring, always willing to answer my many questions. I've been buying my contacts and glasses here as well, and it is always easy with good prices. They do a great job making sure I get the most out of my vision insurance. I'd definitely recommend.

I was in town for the Prince Hall Shriners convention, and only needed my lenses transferred from a broken pair of glasses to an identical pair, which they kindly did free of charge. That is the definition of customer service. They also have a great selection of quality eyewear to choose from. Stop by it was worth the brisk walk from Downtown!
