Formerly known as Stettner Clinic, the name was changed in the early 90's to South Plains Bariatric Clinic after the death of Dr. Stettner. Through the past 50 years the clinic has continued to be the largest weight control center in the West Texas and Eastern New Mexico area and serves a 600 mile area. South Plains Clinic has been helping patients with medically supervised weight and weight related problems since the 1960's. Obesity is linked to so many medical problems: heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, depression, bone and joint problems and even cancer to mention a few.

I used them when I was a teenager fighting my weight I went from a size 18 to a 8 over the summer. Now as a 40 year old that has packed on some weight after csections and being a stay at home mom I am using them again. I started at the end of aug2021 and as of Feb 7th I have lost a total of 37 pounds. I know to some ppl that may not be much but to me it's amazing.
I still have a long way to go but here's to hoping I reach my goal. The people that work there are the sweetest and friendliest ppl I have ever came in contact with. I was actually disappointed that I had only lost that much in 4 1/2 months and they where like no that's freaking amazing. Which made me feel a little better. I don't see the loss but family, kids and my husband sure do.
