As many of you may know, we had been in our previous location for over 30 years. During that time, and thanks to all of our loyal patients, we have continued to get busier and steadily grow every year. Due to this fact, we needed to expand our office to accommodate the growth. Our new office space is larger, but more efficiently laid out, and thereby allows us to better serve our patients. Since our new office is just off 15-501, or Fordham Blvd, we will have a lot more visibility and will be much easier for patients to locate the office moving forward.

At Chapel Hill Eyecare, our top priority is patient care. Whether you are looking for new glasses, need contacts, have an older pair of glasses that needs repair, or just want to stop by and say hello, we're always ready to help! Our doctors, Dr. Scott Sikes and Dr. Laurel Gropper, along with our entire team look forward to seeing you soon!
Emily has a long history with our practice and brings many years of experience to her interaction with our patients. She is responsible for patient accounts, office operations, and insurance. She also assists with special testing and the optical boutique. Afton worked in the field of optometry awhile ago with Dr. Sikes' Dad, who is also an optometrist.
At Chapel Hill Eyecare we take great care in assisting each patient in frame selection so that they have the best fit and vision possible. Selecting the proper frame and using the prescription as our guide, we strive to create a designer look with superior vision. Our goal is to have an enjoyable and educational experience while helping you decide what products best fit your needs. There are a multitude of lens choices: starting with single vision, bifocal, progressive, and specialized computer lenses.

Chapel Hill Eyecare was my original eye doctor when I lived in Carrboro and I had since moved back home (a little farther away) and went through a bad experience with another eye doctor in my area. Lydia was so quick to help me and instructed me how to contact my vision insurance so I could get my benefits reinstated. She was incredibly compassionate and helpful. Dr. Scott Sikes is a wonderful doctor, his dedication to his patients is unmatched and that shines through in how he treats everyone around him.
He confirmed my suspicions that my prescription was wrong and went to work to correct it. Emily helped me in picking up my glasses and she was great to work with as well, addressing any questions I had as well as assisting me with an adjustment. I highly recommend this office to anyone, it's well worth the drive. Thank you again everyone!

I took my S/O to an optometrist appointment and figured "hey, I also have vision insurance!" so I made an appointment while she was in her exam. Making the appointment was effortless thanks to the staff at the front desk, and the appointment I made was barely over a week out! Easy. I came in about twenty minutes early for my appointment and didn't wait 15 of that. Dr. Sikes was immediately cordial and had photos of my retina taken painlessly in the first five minutes. He's extremely professional, but also courteous and quick. We'll both be happy to return!
