All of the women in my immediate family and I have been going here for over 10 years. I want to start by saying that I love all of the doctors and nurses here. The issue is the bedside manor and protocols of the billing department and receptionist. I had had an eptopic pregnancy that was not caught in time because my first ultrasound was suppose to be the following week.
I was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. When I called to cancel my first ultrasound and explained that I had an epitopic pregnancy, the receptionist asked me if I was sure it was an ectopic and then asked again if I was sure I wanted to cancel my appointment. Her lack of emotion about the whole matter was appalling. Not only did she question me about an emergency surgery, which required not only the loss of my baby but also my fallopian tube, but she had no regard or emotion when I told her what I had been through.
Fast forward a year and I find out I am pregnant again. At the time I did not have insurance because I was between jobs but I still went back to their practice because I loved all of the doctors and nurses there. My husband and I got married a couple months after my appointments started and I was excited to use our insurance to help with the bills.
When I handed the receptionist the insurance card she did not tell me that they didn't accept the type of insurance I had. So for three months I was paying out of pocket without knowing it. The receptionist called me after the 3 months to tell me and I told her to cancel all of my appointments because I would need to switch providers. Again, she had no emotion and didn't apologize for anything.
She even questioned me again if I was sure I wanted to cancel my upcoming appointment. My husband called the billing department and they told him that it wasn't their fault and we needed to pay the standing balance which was an astronomical amount due to being out of pocket. I have never before been to any medical practice that has not made sure the insurance is covered prior to appointment being made, especially one that takes 3 months to tell you.
As I said before, all of the doctors and nurses are fantastic! But when it comes to communication with the receptionist as well as discussing finances with the billing department, they have no regard for trauma you may have been through or making sure you are covered under your current insurance provider.

I tried contact his office.representative said he can't accept me because i am "probably high risk".I can't understand like a human that descions. I think they all must give the Hippocratic Oath. I really don't understand. I am perfectly healthy, no any problem with my health.except unexspected C section in previous pregnancy. But looks like docs only respects " school books" described cases, typical & strictly standard. It is sad, because he looks like serious doctor with so many decades in his experience, without any fear.

Dr. Pesavento is simply phenomenal. Not only is he a very good doctor, but he also possesses a calm and reassuring demeanor which comes in very handy when dealing with distressed pregnant women. My wife had a miscarriage back in 2019 in her fifth week of pregnancy, and we were obviously very upset; Dr. Pesavento had a very cordial, calm manner in which he assured my wife that this is not an issue with her, but rather, a very common occurrence; he was quite the emotional support in such tough times.
My wife also took a pill to help her body with flushing itself, but she started bleeding excessively; Dr. Pesavento received us on short notice, and did his magic with very little physical intervention, saving my wife from needing a risky and painful D&C procedure. My wife got pregnant again last May and a few days ago our daughter was successfully delivered by Dr. Pesavento.
Once again his professionalism shone; my normally 110lb wife gave birth to our 8lbs 10oz daughter naturally, my wife had no tearing or any other undesirable effects, and we attribute that mostly to Dr. Pesavento's professionalism. I really can't say enough things about him, and although some of the front desk staff at his practice could use a bit of polishing on their interpersonal skills, ultimately they are not the ones delivering your child - the doctor is, and that's all that matters. Also, as a side note, we had recommended Dr. Pesavento to friends of ours and they too had their baby with him as their OBGYN at Advocate Good Shepherd, and were also thrilled with their experience. Lastly, I wish that when reviewers like Brian smear a doctor's reputation, they would at least have the common courtesy to explain the exact issue they had and justify their position. Failure to do so and simply calling someone unprofessional or worse, raises questions about the credibility of their reviews as far as I am concerned.

Stay away from this doctor. His experience is limited and his bedside manner is about as bad as any doctor I have seen. His billing practices are draconian; 21 days after visiting his office we received a bill that says; FINAL NOTICE and was very threatening. This guys is a joke, don't hesitate to reach out to hear how much of a joke and what he did to my family!

I could not give this practice enough stars. The women in the front office made every visit the best! (Dr. Dan you are so very lucky to have them!) They are extremely fun and personable and I honestly could not have asked for a better staff to be a part of my pregnancy. Dr. Dan is an absolutely remarkable Dr.! At the hospital, staff would tell me stories of what a humble and kind individual he is and it stood true.
He is extremely calm, cool, and collect and that vibe filled the entire room during my delivery. I had a horrific experience with my first delivery by another practice and was extremely scared. I did not have a doubt in my mind having Dr. Dan delivering my DS and even after a forecep delivery. I am very happy I trusted this office and this Dr. for the delivery. Thank you Dr. Dan and staff! Absolutely perfect group!

Dr. Dan has great experience and listened carefully to my needs, without judging and saying honestly what he thought. I asked to give birth without epidural if baby and my conditions were healthy. I wanted to be drug free during birth and it just happened. Very humane and understanding physician. My birth experience has been great.
