Looking Glass Eye Center, established in 1985 by Dr. Dana Christianson, is a General Ophthalmology practice with six physicians and one optometrist serving the cities of Brevard and Hendersonville, NC and surrounding areas. In 2006, Looking Glass Eye became a "Center of Excellence, " which is a testament to the exceptional high-quality care provided by this team of professionals.

Dr. Hank Johnson is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea and external disease as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. He has extensive experience with the latest technology for cataract surgery including the small incision, no-stitch technique. He provides all types of lens implants including astigmatism correcting toric lenses as well as multi-focal lenses.
Dr. Patricia Champion has been practicing Optometry in the Western North Carolina area since 1994. Dr. Champion specializes in custom contact lenses including Scleral Contact Lenses for the treatment of Keratoconus and other ocular surface disease. She also provides comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and manage all eye health issues, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and ocular conditions associated with diabetes. Originally from northeast Pennsylvania Dr. Champion graduated Cum Laude with a BS degree in Biology from Wilkes University.
Dr. Scott Cole is an Ophthalmologist that specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. He has extensive experience with the latest techniques in oculoplastic surgery including internal ptosis repair, internal brow lift and endoscopic tearing surgery.
Dr. Dana Christianson is a retired General Ophthalmologist. He specialized in small incision-no stitch cataract surgery and laser corrective and cosmetic surgery. He also performed eyelid rejuvenation surgery and other plastic surgery around the eyes. He has extensive experience in managing glaucoma, diabetes as it relates to the eye and macular degeneration.

I'd just like to say Carolyn is God sent. They are under staffed and a note is present. My wait wasn't long at all. She was more than helpful definitely made my day. I didn't purchase my glasses here(my parents go here)and I walked in to see if they could repair my handle. Well she did more than that she replaced both(these looked better than the original)and didn't charge me nothing She didn't have to do that. I am so grateful because where I purchased them never offered to do that. Much appreciated I can see again. My glasses are like my keys and phone very much needed.

The staff members at Looking Glass are always so personable and yet eminently professional. They know their stuff! It is always interesting to me how they keep the procedures and the clients straight with the number of patients at any one time. I've saved the best for last - Dr. Verm is STELLAR. He was my last resort to perform cataract surgery on me when I had previously had major eye operations. I can't recommend him more highly. Two ophthalmologists had passed on me because of my history but Dr. Verm took me on and did a superlative job.

I have been going to Looking Glass Eye Center for many years and feel that they are extremely professional, courteous, and pleasant. Out of all the doctors that I have had throughout my life, Dr. Verm is at the top of my list. He explains everything thoroughly and never rushes during his time with you. He provides a comfort while going through his explanations, his illustration with a model of the eye, and prompt, direct answers to any questions given him. Simply said, he and the staff are the best that I have experienced.

All of the providers at Looking Glass Eye Center in Hendersonville were patient and pleasant. The technicians were thorough in their examinations and explained what was happening and why they were doing things. Dr Vern also was thorough in his examination and his explanation of the possible cataract surgery. I was very pleased with my choice of seeing this group.

Looking Glass Eye Center is a great place for eye care and glasses. They have several great doctors that handle comprehensive annual exams and can fit you in quickly when something concerning comes up regarding vision. The front desk staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating The eye glass department is also great at helping you pick a pair of frames. Highly recommend them.
