These 4 and 5 star reviews are fake. I went here for a lasik consultation and never met an eye surgeon. 3 times they had me come back for one reason or another, each time waiting more than an hour and a half after my appointed time to meet with surgeon. I never did meet a surgeon but I did get charged 3 copays. Insult to injury-- they wrote my eye glasses prescription wrong and I got stuck with the bill.
The place is factory mill for sure with no consideration for patients, just money. Don't take my word for it. Find out for yourself. Ask any staffer you meet how long they have worked there and you will soon learn everyone is new. Turn over there must be over the top. Dr. Volk disgusts me. He too has moved on. Hopefully, he will pay for his incompetence and money grubbing lies while working here another day.

This place is such a scam. First off be warned that a simple eye appointment takes 2-3 hours. I have never waited this long ever. They take you into a room then you go back out to lobby and wait. This repeats for hours. Secondly, they were pushing this "new" technology contacts on me and I went along and got a trial pack. Couple days later I realized the trial contacts I had been wearing were had expired in 2020.
Not sure how new the technology could be if these expired in 2020. and finally I just found out today that they have been scamming me with the contacts I've purchased from them. They are charging more than double what other providers charge for literally the exact same brand and prescription contacts. This does not surprise me because I noticed their customer base is primarily elderly patients. Seems they take advantage of this and charge absurd amounts thinking they won't notice. So if you like wasting time at a doctors office that takes advantage of and scams elderly patients, Morris Eye Group is the place for you!

I ended up here when I had to leave a small Optometrist practice due to an insurance change. My first experience at Morris Eye Group felt like I was a product being manufactured in a factory - I must have seen 4 people before even seeing the doctor. It felt like no one person would be entirely responsible for my eye health and took a few hours to get through all the stations with long waits in the lobby in-between.
When my insurance changed again I should have gone back to the small practice but since I already had a check up booked, I took the lazy route and I went back and felt the same as the first time. However this time I liked the doctor I saw a little better. I decided to take my daughter to see that doctor (who just one week later, had no recollection of seeing me - probably because of the high volume of patients they see daily). no personal touch.
When my daughter had contacts on order, they required a training. which I think is a good idea. However they only offer 2 structured times both of which are during school hours. The day of the training we ran late with signing her out of school so I called to let them know. I ended up on hold for 6 minutes - when someone finally answered we were already in the parking lot and I told them we were on our way up, which she said "ok".
When we check in - now 10 minutes past appointment - the woman checking us in said she had to check if we could have the training. I told her I called and spoke with someone. She came back and proceeded to tell me it was too late for the training. I told her I wore contacts most my life so I would train my daughter but they would not let me take the contacts without the training.
At this point I was absolutely furious and not a nice customer (which I regret) but the thought of having to postpone getting the contacts and taking my daughter out of school again when we were 10 minutes late had me over the edge. Due to my frustration they took us and 20 minutes later we were out the door. We have decided to leave the practice. I would not recommend this place - impersonal, like a factory.

All of the staff were personable and friendly with the exception of one of the guys who is in charge of fitting the eye glass frames. This guy, a Caucasian, is very scripted which makes for a cold impersonal experience. I had to wait standing in front of his desk for more than 5 minutes before he acknowledged me and that wasn't until someone advised him to do so.
He pointed out frames while sitting at his desk, no help until I asked him. I spent over $800 for eye glasses and expected a bit more of a positive experience, felt like I was intruding on his time. Be prepared to wait for a month or longer to get your glasses, unless you call for an update you may be waiting longer than I did.

This is my second time here and both times the front desk and billing screwed up due to lack of communication and Assumed lack of training and it can't be blamed on covid as this happened once before covid. This was my attempt to overlook the short comings and give them another shot. They definitely don't have a philosophy of the customer is always right.
The Docs are great but they don't charge the insurance properly and are an hour behind - failing to let clients now at the start. I will not be coming back here unfortunately.

I did not have a problem with any particular person Morris Eye Group, however my experience was similar to many of the other reviews - long waits, only so-so service and the distinct impression that my wallet would be emptied of every possible penny. They billed *both* my vision/eye and health insurance and told me to come back for an additional exam (didn't explain it wasn't part of the usual exam & would be an extra charge).
With COVID and everything I haven't been for an eye exam in ~2 years so I decided to get the glasses, but they were VERY expensive - I'm sure I overpaid. This is definitely a money-making operation first and a care provider second (or third). I do not plan to return.

I went to Morris Eye Group to pick up my contact lens prescription. The woman who was supposed to be "educating" me on how to use them reversed the labeling on the right and left contact. I have astigmatism in one eye so the shape of the contact lenses are different as well as the prescription. I could not believe how uncomfortable they were and I could barely see.
The woman told me I would get used to them and to put a couple drops of solution in my eyes if they continued to bother me. Fortunately I read the indications for the solution she gave me and it was for cleaning the lenses and not meant to be put directly into the eyes. I was ready to swear off contacts entirely but ended up going back to see the eye doctor the following week and she realized the contacts were reversed.
I wrote a review that was internal to Morris Eye Group because I wanted to give them an opportunity to address these errors before sharing my experience in a public forum. I never heard back from them, so here it is on Yelp!

Never been to an eye group practice that required medical insurance to be used in addition to vision insurance. The front office and technician were rude, argumentative, and condescending. Even when the technician excused me back to the waiting room, I heard her muttering arguments against what I said. Unprofessionalism at its finest! THE ONLY REASON they even got two stars was because the optometrist Dr. Tan is AWESOME.
She was kind, understanding and apologetic. She explained the rationale for the health insurance inclusion was due to their practice being considered a medical practice so they use it as needed but is not required unless needing to address a medical diagnosis such as "macular degeneration." If Dr Tan could be seen without going through the front off or technician then I'd recommend this location; however, I will never return to ANY Morris Eye Group.

Referred for urgent issue. Made appointment and they attempted to overcharged for co-pay. (Waiting room was packed, no social distancing) Made follow up appointment after resolving over charges only to get a call days before my new appointment saying they don't even take my insurance. What? Give me a break. Unprofessional and should be audited.

If only I could award a negative rating. The abysmal patient treatment at the hands of their Optical Department headed by David Salazar and Optician Josh Bozarth qualifies as abuse rather than the practice of competent eye care. Neither of these rude, abrasive, condescending, non-empathetic individuals with their snarky attitudes have any business being in patient-facing positions.
Within minutes it was clear that neither of these men had any intention of finding a suitable solution to my potential for being without any corrective vision care for weeks. Try to escalate to Dr. Morris and the answer is, "Pfft.he doesn't work here everyday." Ask for their names to write a formal complaint and you're told it's none of your business.best to snatch a business card instead. Had to correct Bozarth for his attempt to order the wrong contact lens prescription. Was interested in ordering eyeglasses but the $800 price tag he quoted was too expensive to justify.
He then summarily scolded me for not owning eyeglasses. The doctor's prescribed treatment plan to test a new weaker prescription couldn't be fulfilled by the Optical department for several weeks. If I ran out of contacts in the meantime, "that's on you, it's not our fault. You should have come in sooner." The irony of David Salazar chastising me for potentially running out of contact lenses when it was his own Optical department that had none in stock to deliver on the prescribed treatment plan was totally lost on him.
If Morris Eye Group had the foresight to restock their inventory, I would have had no shortage of contact lenses in the first place. They refused any attempts by me to come up with a workable interim prescription to prevent me from running out of contact lenses - even a brief continuation of my current prescription which was working perfectly fine.
It became patently obvious that they were attempting to extort an $800 order for eyeglasses from me. Shame on them for their unethical behavior. Extremely expensive, long wait times, rude & unethical staff. Do yourself a favor & go anywhere else. Got a refund.never returning. Berating patients for their own incompetence is not only unprofessional, it's unforgivable.

For the last three years when I had my eye exam the gal doing the visual testing did not know how to use the visual equipment. She was so inept that I was called in to do a retest. The next year the gal didn't know how to adjust the equipment so my chin could rest whille testing. She asked me if I wanted to set a new appointment. This year there is new equipment and this gal was so inept she had to call someone who was capable of doing the testing to complete the task.
Why aren't these people checked to be sure they know what they are doing before being hired for the position instead of putting all of us at risk.? Is it the money involved to be sure they are properly trained. Morris eye group used to be excellent. Dr Butler was an outstanding ophthalmologist. Why isn't she there any more? What is happening there?

Just to update I did not have to have cataract surgery yet. I have now been seeing Dr. Aminlari and I cannot say enough good things about him. I have many issues with my eyes and love his honesty and treatment plan fir me. He is conservative in the best way (re: surgery) and has really helped me to acquire better vision with me having many autoimmune issues, dry eyes, macular degeneration and cataracts that are forming.
He also referred me to Dr. Volk (also in the clinic) to see if I'd be a candidate for special contacts to help my dry eyes and improve my vision even more. Thank God I was and I'm so happy to get rid of my glasses when I choose. Dr. Volk is very thorough and a perfectionist, explained everything very well and my vision is the best it's been in years and I'm so happy.
I trust them both so much I'll never change doctors! One more thing, you may have to wait a bit before being seen but it's because they spend the time needed with each patient and take great care of you so.plan extra time and be patient! No complaining

I waited 35 minutes past my appointment time to be seen by an ophthalmologist. Staff did not update me on the Dr's status. I noted that all the other patients were also waiting for at least 20 min past their appointment time. The office is large, clean and snazzy. Unfortunate that they do not respect their patient's/potential patient's time. I left without being seen.

I have had nothing but bad experiences in the last three years. I have been a patient for over 25 years, I have taken my kids, my husband and my mom there. I have had several issues with the front end staff and now my daughter had a really bad experience with Brittney one of their technicians. I must say I have stayed with Morris Eye Group because I loved Dr. Bodman (even thought she is no longer there), I love Dr. Amalari and I adore Wilma she has always given us the best customer service and has helped with our glasses needs for that last 25 years.
They are what keeps us going back but after the last incident my daughter had I can say you will loose customers. From the front desk treating my mom so rudely twice, to my two insurances being billed for the same visit to now Brittney treating my daughter the way she did I am considering leaving the practice. Sad because the doctors and optician are amazing but their front end and back end staff needs better customer service training.

Hold onto your wallets! Not only is Morris Eye Group extremely expensive for glasses/frames, but they also could not get my prescription straight, even after numerous tries. They DO NOT Stand by their workmanship and charge you for additional perks that they never intend to apply (e.g. scratch-resistant coating, etc.) It will be a battle for you for them to correct THEIR mistakes. They simply tell you to 'have a good day, there is nothing we can do.

Horrible experience. Customer service was aweful. I arrived early for my visit. I wasn't greeted professionally at check in. They were in a hurry to take my $15.00 co pay. I waited 20 min past my appt time. Never seen the optometrist until the very end of my visit. The lady who helped me was extremely rude and not communicative. She had a horrible attitude the entire time. Dialated my eyes horrible.
Then spoke with a man about my payment. He insisted I pay out of pocket and use my benefits to purchase contacts with them. I refused to purchase contacts with them. I wanted to use my benefits to pay my contact exam. Not to mention he would not tell me the price of the contact exam. He charged me $85.00 out of pocket. Then last step to see the optometrist.
Who never examined my eyes. He was very rude only question he asked where was I going to purchase my contacts. I told him I did not know. He left the room to come back with 1 trial pair of contact and said have a good day. So I left. Only to find out they billed my insurance $70.00 for the contact exam. Total contact exam $155.00. And guess what I was dissatisfied with Morris Eye Group.
I went to get a second opinion. On my vision and my contact and glass prescription were totally different and my eyes are much better. Also the exam was $50.00 dollars cheaper with no co-pay. This place is a total rip off. So glad I didn't purchase contacts because the prescription was wrong. This was my first and last visit. Total rip off.

My office experience did not feel COVID safe at all. Over the past 7 months, this was the most unsafe, uncomfortable position I've been in (and I've had dr visits at 3 other offices, never feeling unsafe) It was too crowded in the waiting area with people walking right next to me repeatedly while i waited for 3.5 HOURS to just get an update on my glasses Rx.
Two patients were complaining loudly about their experiences. I felt so badly for the seniors who should not be in such a risky situation. I was especially agitated because one member of the staff kept coughing and another had a stuffy nose-- it scared me and I felt somewhat helpless since i was waiting. I should've just left and not potentially exposed myself. It was my second time time to Morris and will be my last.

After reading reviews before going, I packed things to do whole waiting for my eye exam. I was pleasantly surprised to have the time go by quickly. No forms to fill out, I was seated and only waited for 5 minutes to be examined by the first woman who examined my eyes and did eye tests. I went back to the vhair for 5 minutes before another woman took pictures of my eyes.
Back in my chair again and the doctor came and looked at my eyes again. They were all very thorough. The doctor had several recommendations for me and told me to call her back if I had any questions. She explained that they only have people waiting at times when they have emergencies due to doctor's referring them.

The service was friendly, comprehensive, fast and efficient. I liked it that I ventured to each station to have each portion of my eye exam completed, culminating with the doctor's review of all the test results and confirming my prescription. I am a diabetic and they were able to conduct my annual diabetic eye exam. I am bringing my daughter in next week as I trust in their services after the way they treated me!

They have their process nailed down! One stop shop, advanced technology, and friendly staff. Before my visit, I was able to schedule my appointment online, received an email confirmation, received a text reminder. Upon arrival, my new patient on-boarding was simple and quick. Two very friendly technicians examined me and I was able to peruse the frames while waiting for the Dr. Butler so the time flew right by.
My contact fitting with Dr. Butler was great. Morris Eye Group has fantastic technology, and she was able to show me pictures of my eyes to explain what she was talking about. I selected them as my primary ophthalmologists as they can provide a host of thorough examinations, my glasses and contact prescriptions, in house surgery for Lasik assuming I am a good candidate for that procedure next year.

Had such a great experience here! Everyone is so nice and the office is run very efficiently. They answer the phone right away, text you your appointment time, and you can even make appointments online. I met with Dr. Butler and absolutely loved her. She was so personable and kind and gave me so much time. I've never felt like an eye doctor truly cared about my eyes, vision, and well being like this place did. Highly recommend!

I think this is one of the best eye groups I have been to in my experience. As you walk in the door, the clerical staff, greets you warmly & they are very efficient at registration. The wait time is minimal to start the process for your visit. My Doctor Vernicki, is friendly yet professional & knowledgeable & open to answer any questions, I may have. Overall the entire staff is professional, friendly & helpful, this helps to makes a stressful time more comfortable for the patient

I had a great experience at Morris Eye Group. The staff is very courteous and they are very timely. Dr. Butler is fantastic. Everything was fine with the eye exam. Thanks. However, I would suggest that you expand your office waiting room some (it's really tight in there) and consult with a 'human factors' professional to make it more comfortable and exciting, i.e., healthcare environments don't have to be like, well, waiting rooms.

I've been to many eye clinics in the last 65 years, but Morris Eye Group was the one of the best experiences I've had in a long time with not just because of their patient care care but their staff was professional and highly qualified. Everyone in interacted with was above par and the equipment they use is cutting edge and state of the art.
They ran a full series of very sophisticated test and Dr. Morris was very professional and explained everything to me and I was thoroughly surprised at the detail they went to went ti explaining what was going on. I would recommend Dr. Morris and his eye group to anybody that needs from the basic care to more advanced diagnosis.

First of all, the robo-call appointment reminder lets you know the approximate time needed for your time in the office, which I like a lot. Wait time from arrival to seeing the first technician is generally about 10-15 minutes, which based on the room full of people I consider excellent. All of the staff are very efficient at their various tasks. Dr. Bodman is very outgoing and personable.
She takes time to go over results of the various tests/scans after an in-depth examination. It's clear by how she speaks with you that she thinks of you as a person and not just a patient/client. I have never had a bad experience, it has been a pleasure to come to Morris Eye Group.

The office is clean and well organized. All the employees are friendly. I came in at a very busy time, and since I had to wait a while for my first step, they were thoughtful and came to get me to complete steps 4 and then 3 while waiting for the person who does step 2. The optometrist greeted me with a hug and asked about my family, even though I had not seen her in two years. Wanda, who orders contacts or glasses is exceptional and also remembered and asked about me, gave me options but did not pressure anything; she listened to what I wanted. The entire staff is kind and professional

My first year using this doctor they completely screwed up my prescription and gave me the wrong 12 month supply for my left eye. This year I reschedule the appt I made last year. I show up and wait in the lobby for 20 mins. They finally call me up and said I have no appt and that my last one was a "no show". Apparently their online system has to be manually entered into their system. No thanks I'm not wasting my time dealing with your sloppy work, yet again.

My last appointment here was excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked both of the technicians I saw who explained exactly what they were doing, making me feel comfortable and safe. Tara Viechnicki, M.D., my eye Dr. is friendly and thorough. The optical department here was excellent, as well. Patient and helpful when I was choosing frames! Short wait time between departments.
