Was called rude when I asked for an explanation of charges that they asked for payment on that was from 5 months ago. But have been in multiple times since then without a word. How is that being rude? Just explain why there's a past payment due, where it came from and let's move on. Now they have us still waiting for our appointment which was an hour ago and counting.

I've been seeing Sarah Strazza, FNCP for a year now. She is the first medical professional that I've encountered in my 9 yrs in AZ, that I am so greatful for. She is friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable, listens and involves you in your care! She listened to me about my symptoms and diagnosed me with a condition I've had all my life! Others would dismiss me as "it's all in my head". She should be an example to all medical professionals on how to treat patients. I will continue with her, wherever she goes. Thank You Sarah!

I hope you read this before visiting. The only reason there's a star is because I have to have one in order to write a review. I don't usually even write reviews but after my still ongoing experience, I feel it necessary. I went in to see Dr Wallace for VERY swollen tonsils and tonsil stones. To the point that I could not eat, swallow, or talk louder than a whisper.
He came in, asked what I'd been taking for it, jabbed a popsicle stick INTO my very sore tonsils, and said that would loosen them up. He then proceeded to write me an amoxicillin prescription, circled 2 ENTs on a piece of paper and left. The whole thing took MAYBE 3-4 minutes. Turns out after going to the ENT and to an urgent care doctor, both said that with all my symptoms (which at this point I'm wondering if he even listened to) it should have been instinct for him to swab for strep and mono and that it should've been obvious to do that. ALSO turns out that if you have mono and take amoxicillin your whole body breaks out in hives.
I'm on day 4 of swollen hives all. over. my body. Literally head to toe. Can't use my hands, can't walk, can barely sleep. Because he chose not to go through the proper procedures. Do yourself a favor. Find somewhere else. Go somewhere else. *UPDATE: My hives started June 11th. They led to an ER visit due to swelling of my mouth and throat and I was unable to actually do anything, like work, until June 26th.
Even after that I had to be very aware of anything that would spike them like heat and anything from shampoo to certain clothing. It was a couple weeks after the 26th that I was completely back to normal. I only shared a few photos of early on, but it only got worse. It was a miserable few weeks.

I have to say that Sara Strazza is the most patient, thorough, caring Nurse Practitioner that I have seen. She took her time, listened and answered all questions we had. We never felt rushed or hurried. We were nervous going in as we were new to her but she instantly made us feel comfortable. she's so genuine with a good bedside manner! Thank YOU MS Strazza for being such a great Doc with a loving heart!

Tested positive for covid and called in to seek my doctors advice. Jessica in scheduling immediately told me they are not prescribing anything for covid and to wait out my quarantine? I didn't know Jessica was a doctor. Do yourself a favor and seek medical care from a provider/medical office who actually cares about their patients.

Dr. Reeder - By far one of the most inconsiderate, terrible communicators, unbelievable arrogant attitude, and appears to not have the ability to hear. Dr. Reeder does not listen. Dr. Reeder does not care what you tell him. Most of the time Dr. Reeder does not even remember what you talked with him about. He recommended a specialist for a major surgery, who does not do those surgeries.
His nurse assistant called to update me on bloodwork, said everything came back normal, and so I had a follow up question around seeing black when I stand up at time for 20-30 seconds before I come back to. She stated the doctor doesn't recall any of that. I asked if he even listens to his patients since he recommended me to a place that told me "We have no clue why he recommended you hear as we don't do that.", and now doesn't recall 5 minutes of conversation around seeing black when I explained this issue going on. Dr. Reeder got on the phone and said I was not blacking out, and which I said I know, I said seeing black for 20-30 seconds.
I then asked if he was paying attention in our doctor visit and he quickly got fired up and upset and told me he was going to discharge me as a patient. After 25 years going here and seeing Dr. Benton, this lack of caring about what he does in caring for his medical patients of a want to be Doctor, Dr. Reeder, is a complete joke and a shame. Dr. Reeder should be removed from the practice.
I originally got switched over to Dr. Reeder by the staffing admin because Dr Benton was too busy. Boy was that the biggest mistake ever made following along with additional appointments with Dr. Reeder.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT COME HERE. They do not answer the phone at all. I've been calling for a week and on Friday they answer. I left voicemails they say they never got. Then after getting one of my voicemails I never received a call back. I waited a week then called then another 24 hours. They told me my paperwork was on her desk for review. I never got a call still. Horrible practice and place to come.
I am pulling my medical paperwork to go elsewhere who I can get a direct line to. Not go through an fake operator to go through another operator to then leave a voicemail to not have it returned. This place has Zero communication. I see why they have 3.3 stars and going down. They say I owe a balance and try to contact me. You guys are liars. I never received one notification.
Then I was told that they answered my question but didn't have time to call back. Why don't you have time to call back. I was able to go pick up my paperwork and you couldn't call back in that time frame. I've been calling since the 13th which they said they never got. I have proof. You haven't returned one of my phone calls. Awful office. With a bunch of non truthful workers and lazy staff

I've been a patient here for a few years. I've had an existing condition, and I've been given a prescription for the same thing numerous times. I currently live about an hour from the office but that was never an issue because I'm familiar with the staff and I liked it there. I called and left a voicemail for a refill prescription (again one I'd been given before).
I get a call back and they inform me that I must make an appointment. I wasn't asking for anything foreign so I didn't understand the need for a appointment. I let them know I couldn't make the appointment now and that I just need an inhaler. Jennifer Smith said I can either make the appointment or find another provider that will give me the prescription.
That's the approach you want to take? I'm in need of medication and that's the attitude to choose to have. Not only do I find it incredibly disrespectful, but that really goes to show how little care you have for people. She didn't even tell me personally she had someone else tell me. My dear, my lungs have not changed, they still suck and I still need an inhaler.
I know losing my business doesn't hurt them as a whole or maybe even her personally, which is probably why she was quick to dismiss me. That did get me thinking though, is this something they normally do to people who simply can't make it to one visit? I can't imagine what others have had to go through. I'm not sure if this is the approach that everyone in this office takes. But why risk it. If you're looking for a new provider, don't waste your time here.

I have known Dr. Benton for over 30 years, and I have used some of the other doctors working in the Gilbert Office when Dr. Benton's schedule was full. The doctors and staff at Mesa Family Physicians are dedicated, knowledgeable, and sincere professionals. Yes, I have had to wait for the doctor because he or she is running behind schedule, but that is to be understood as they deal with a great variety of complex patient issues. Dr. David Benton and his assistant Connie are current in their disciplines, well connected in the local medical community, and are sincere in how they treat patients.

Dr. Benton and his team are great. They listened to my health concerns and took them seriously, ordering the necessary labs to verify my health and even dug around with serious gusto to get me a discount on my new prescription. These are the medical professionals you hope you have the opportunity to see when you need your health taken care of.

I was so grateful and impressed with how absolutely wonderful everyone was at Mesa Family Physicians. The front desk staff was fast getting me checked-in and very nice. Leila, at the front desk was extra helpful and kind. The medical assist was kind. Dr. Wallace was so kind, thorough, helpful, and more than efficient - seriously the best family doctor I've ever seen. I was just in a bad auto accident and their kindness was not lost on me. Highly recommend.

This review is concerning the office staff at Mesa Family Physicians. This front office staff is rude, unprofessional, and uncaring. If this had been a one time experience, I would let it go, but my review is based on multiple occurrences - both in person and on the phone. If I were the physicians I would consider how this office staff is representing them. I must also note that the office staff was not consistently wearing masks.

I have been going to MFP for over 3 years and it has been my favorite providers office to date. FNP Sarah Strazza is beyond amazing and Dr. Gunn is also very patient and thorough. I can't recommend either of these providers enough. Great Doctors, Great MA's. Easy to make an appointment and get on the schedule, sometimes same day if they can squeeze me in. It is nice having caring doctors available and willing to listen and provide sound solutions.

I have been taking my family to MFP for over three years now and I have always loved their office. It is easy to schedule an appointment and I am able to see my provider quickly. I feel like they have always been on time with appointments, we don't spend hours in a waiting room. We see Sarah Strazza and she is beyond professional, listens to all of our health concerns, takes her time discussing our health care options, and is very caring which is important when dealing with and discussing health.
I always leave the office feeling like we were taken care of and I was heard with any of my health concerns. It is wonderful to have a provider that you feel confident it taking care of your entire family. I recommend MFP and Sarah Straza to anyone who is looking for a doctor.

I just want to say how thankful I am for Sarah Strazza and Mesa Family Physicians. My daughter had a nasty cut in a place that was nearly impossible to heal due to being between her toes. We tried to deal with it on our own due to the chaos of Covid. Of course it just ended up getting infected and worse. we got ahold of Sarah, and due to her caring and responsive nature, we were quickly on the path to recovery! I will not hesitate to call her first next time. Thank you Sarah and Mesa family Physicians!

Healthcare is a sensitive and intimate business. I'm surprised by the poor reviews as my experience has never been like that and its been my provider for years. Dr. Gunn is excellent, educated, empathetic and professional. The staff have been transparent and friendly at every visit. I've had no issues with billing, prescriptions, prior auth, referrals, or labs.
I get that folks don't like going to the doctor, but if you go in with the wrong attitude, everything will upset you and nothing will satisfy you. You get what you put in. Mesa Family Physicians is a solid group.

Heard amazing things about Dr. Gunn. Unfortunately other staff, receptionists specially Jessica sucks! Poor thing seems very unhappy with her job and should definitely consider going somewhere else. In general customer service was horrible! Was on hold forever just to schedule an appointment! I asked to speak to manager and was placed on hold forever only to be transferred to a voicemail. I would give it a zero if i could!

I have been going to Mesa Family Physicians as my primary for several years now. I love Sarah Strazza and her approach to my health! I feel like she really listens to what my concerns are and works with me on treatment plans. She never ignores or dismisses my concerns. She is always kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. She is also very up to date with the market and the current research! I've never had an issue with scheduling or billing. Everyone is always very approachable and professional!

My family has been going to MFP for over a decade, but out of the Gilbert office. Upon moving to Mesa, I started going to the Mesa office & this is where 5 stars go to 2. Please know the providers themselves are amazing, it is their office staff that leaves a lot to be desired. Getting an urgent / same day appointment is unheard of. The last 3 times I called to request one, I was told they are too busy.
It was suggested I plan future visits a bit better (because the flu totally allows for the pre plan, right?!?). I've had to spend 3x per visit to an urgent care as a result. Today, I have what I think is a sinus infection & a raging headache. I am at work, 30 minutes away & am told if I can be there in 20 minutes, they can see me but I can't be late.
How is that even possible? When I expressed frustration with having a primary care doctor I seem to never be able to see, the scheduler laughed at me. She said they have been booked for weeks & laughed some more. Maybe it's the throbbing headache, congestion or sinus pressure talking, but after more than 10 loyal years, I plan to switch PCP offices & it's sad because the providers are awesome. it's their callous & insensitive front office staff I have an issue with. Today was the last straw. I'm done.

Worst experience I have ever had. Not only did whoever schedules the appointments schedule me for the wrong type of appointment so I wasn't even able to do what I came to do, the NP Tammy Cakmak should be avoided if you go to this office. I believe that she types her notes later after a patient visit while not fresh in her mind or is otherwise distracted during the visit which can cause inaccuracy which can lead to improper treatment.
In my case, she had put in her notes for my visit that I told her a certain medication "works really well for me" when I had told her I took it for 3 days 8 years ago and then stopped, so I hadn't really tried it to know if it worked or not. In the end she prescribed this medication to me but it caused extreme side effects that caused me to miss work.
I am not sure if she correctly input my diagnosis/conditions into her notes or not, but the medication she prescribed me is known to make one of my conditions worse (the side effects) In my opinion, a competent doctor would have known this and prescribed something else. When I requested a doctors note for missing work stating the day I started treatment, I was told by Tammy that she would not provide me a doctors note unless I came in for an appointment.
I explained my concerns with the office and her medical judgment as well as the fact that I cannot pay for multiple doctors visits, especially just for a note, and told her that I would prefer to find a new PCP. She asked me to get the note from my new doctor which I am unable to do because the new doctor did not prescribe the med/initiate treatment and therefore cannot write me a note stating the date.

I can't leave a voicemail and wouldn't DARE contact an on call Doctor for something as small as a physicians authorization. For a month now my insurance, pharmacist and myself have made attempts at obtaining a prior authorization approval from your Mesa office. No response. This is the second time I have had today out of pocket for prescription medication due to negligent behavior, I dont know, maybe your FAX MACHINE is down.
But quite frankly, its looking like a lack of customer care. I am not sure what is going on in the office, but ever since you've switched this patient from Sarah to Tammy, its been a disaster. I guess I will try again Monday, but I cant imagine you are going to help this educator out with 120 dollars shoveled out for prescription meds. Very disappointed. Gunn always seemed attentive, and I must say, I miss Sara.

Do not waste your time with this office. Do yourself a favor and look for another office. They have billing and management issues and the so called office manager simply does not care when you try to explain a mistake their office made. Doctor was nice but the office management is a patient nightmare. Plenty of great doctors and management teams in the area. This one is not one you should choose.
