The doctors and team at Gilbert Neurology aim to work together in order to supply compassionate, educated, and efficient care for each personal patient. Upon evaluation from one of our physician's, we will order tests to diagnose your condition and plan treatment. EEG stands for electroencephalogram. In its commonest form, it is a measurement of the electrical activity of the brain measured from an array of electrodes on the scalp. This is a painless procedure and helpful in diagnosing seizures, black out spells or epilepsy.
Trigger point injections are used to relieve myofascial pain or pain over tender "trigger" spots often found in the neck, shoulders, or back. These injections are completed with saline mixed with 1% lidocaine (a numbing medication). Pain relief typically occurs quickly and may last approximately 1 month.
We are contracted with the following insurance plans. Not all providers in our office are contracted with each of these insurance plans. Please call our office to find out which providers accept your insurance or call your insurance company to check if our office is in network. I understand I am financially responsible for any co-payments, deductibles, coinsurance and all charges, which are not covered by my insurance. I understand that verification of coverage is not a guarantee of payment of benefits.

Like many other reviews here, I was deceived by this office in regards to my billing. I was scheduled for an EEG, and was told this was 109% covered by my provider. The day of the EEG, I asked again about my financial responsibility and was told there was none. I then received a $300 bill for that EEG, and of course Gilbert Neurology says that wasn't the case.
I am not opposed to paying my share, however I was told one thing and then another happened. I believe this was to get me to move forward with services I would later be billed for. Now I have to pay this bill or be sent to collections, all because the staff there are not honest. I would avoid this office like the plague and go somewhere else.

So let me preface this with Dr. Beck here is phenomenal! That's where it ends. The office staff are rude and hard to get ahold of. I was a patient in 2018 and 2019, 2020 hit and the therapy place I was going to shut down. I took my son to Dr. Beck in 2021 and specifically asked the doctor if I needed to make an appointment to stay in their system as an active patient.
He said no just call if any problems. So I call a couple of days ago and am told I would be s new patient since it's been 2 1/2 years and they're not taking new patients with blue cross insurance. So back story, I have a rare terminal illness, going further than Gilbert or Mesa is extremely difficult and completely impossible if my husband doesn't take the day off to take me, plus Sr. Beck had a working knowledge of my illness so the relationship worked.
I spoke with their office manager and she won't budge despite the fact the doctor told me making an appointment wasn't necessary to stay in the system. Absolutely unacceptable when they ate in network and I was a patient, my son still is a patient and I have referred several folks to say sorry we won't see you. Especially when many of the Gilbert based neurologists are based out of this office. Horrible way to treat patients. I really have no other options and they very obviously did not care one bit. I will NEVER refer another patient to this office ever.

Been a patient here for 10 years with Dr Hodgson (who was great). Was rudely discharged from the clinic due to no communication whatsoever about upcoming appointments or charges on my account (not one text, email, or phone call). Tried calling to make any payments needed and they would not accept me back. Front staff was passive aggressive, rude, and difficult to work with. Gladly moving to another clinic after this mess.

Was a previous patient came back for continued care and receptionist was extremely rude is treated me like an inconvenience. The staff use to be very polite but not this lady. Didn't advise me until my appointment they were no longer taking my insurance as of 2022. Dr Hodgson should be ashamed of the way his staff treats people. Did not continue with my appointment and and advised the rude receptionist there would be no reason to begin care if they won't take my insurance, she just said that was my choice. Rude, un called for and shameful. Will seek care elsewhere and would NOT recommend this office to anyone.

They told me my appointment was at 10:15am. I arrived at 10:10 and was told I needed to reschedule because I didn't fill out paperwork ahead of time. At no point was I told I had to do this or told that I had to come early. I was told I had to reschedule because if this. I walked out. They are supposed to be doctors and care but apparently only care about money and how quickly they can get patience through. Zero compassion, no apology, no nothing.

Incompetent staff. Dr Shah recommended Botox for headaches, but had no clue how to actually do it, injection placement or dosage. Complete fail. Insurance person called to tell me it was unlikely to get covered and wasn't going to try. I had to specially ask her to at least try, and it was covered. I went elsewhere an had good experience for same treatment. Avoid this place or become enough of an expert yourself to coach and guide the staff properly on what they should already know.

Profit over patients. Arrogant staff, Dr. Fine was nice but outnumbered. Any care she took that felt sincere was destroyed by her surrounding. Like playing good cop bad cop. First time through the health care industry for severe chronic neck pain and migraines and honestly, dealing with that was better than dealing with these people. I've never seen such a lack of compassion, especially in a field where you are supposed to help people.
I didn't go here to buy a bike for fun, I came here for help and I regret it. Lost months of work for limp-handed help that got me nowhere. Very clear I was Insurance Claim #234342345, not Richard. Believe me, you'll have to leave a voicemail unless you press 3 for billing, they answer.

The medical assistants are beyond incompetent. I love Dr Shah, but the staff.completely different story. After leaving 10+ messages with them (which were never returned), I had to make an appointment with the doctor just to get the status of an upcoming procedure. To top that off, when I attempted to switch hospitals for something that needed to be addressed immediately, they blew me off yet again.
Twice I've gone into the office to see why the medical assistants weren't returning my calls (never got an adequate response). Unfortunately, I had to go to the ER today for something that would've been completely preventable had the medical assistants done their jobs. I've never been so appalled by such poor patient care before.

Avoid Gilbert Neurology. Joyce and Kristine are by far the least friendly and unprofessional customer service counter reps encountered at a doctor's office. Mother-in-law is 85 years old and has severe medical issues. These two had a poor attitude, were, un-accommodating, and lacked empathy. Trying to get Mom to the doctors, out of the house, into hot sun, and driven all the way to doctor, to deal with such unprofessional attitude was sad.
Choose another location if possible! If this is the type of treatment received before even seeing the doctor, I can't imagine how much worse it gets. This is who they choose to represent their business. Average rating 3.1. Based on our experience, I am predicting it will fall well below a 3.1. Shameful.
