Came to this place when i was around 15 years old for therapy and got treated horribly. therapist wanted to tackle my addiction first before digging into my trauma and mental health issues WHICH WERE THE CAUSE OF MY ADDICTION! she only ever wanted to talk about drugs and nothing else and the one time i was able to speak a little bit about my trauma she straight up told me to "get over" my best friends suicide. even told my mother (that was already aware of my addiction) that i had done acid when everything was supposed to be confidential. there was not one day i wouldn't leave that place in tears AND AS A CHILD.

This place is an absolute joke at getting you set up with any kind of care. They go for case management first which would be fine if it eventually lead to a therapist, but after 5 months of waiting I still haven't gotten one. Also my case manager missed a meeting and I haven't heard back in 1.5 weeks about scheduling an appointment, so any sort of care from them has just dropped off the face of the earth. You can't do this kind of stuff when your patients' lives are on the line.

Hi. I attended BBS w Dr Gerald Shubs from est 1991 until 2000 when Butler County residents began covering part of the office visit. Since I resided in Preble Co. I was no longer allowed to attend this facility. This occured approximately the same time that Dr. Shubs was retiring. When I first began treatment here I was required to go to another location for 3 appointments that were 3 days completely filled with testing I do believe I've taken every psyc test known to man.
Then it takes approx a week to transcribe your results and then you get to see a Dr which you are assigned to that Dr tells you what is wrong. Their plan to make it right and what meds you need if any and who you are going to be seeing for a councilor. I felt that Dr Shubs was very knowledgeable. He would explain things to me so I could understand them.
If I didn't grasp it the first time he would just explain it again. He also provided me with printouts if available for anything that was a concern for me. These were not pre-printed handouts. While you and he are talking he would researche subjects and he printed out. Those that he was sure would help you. He is a very kind man. Very concerned for his patients while I was seeing him I lostmy first born my son and my first grand child he told the best ways to cope with the concerns.or whatever the concerns were of the time and also gets you moving toward a better future.
I could never recommend any doctor higher then I do Dr. Shubs. I had spent life confused unable to explain why I was feeling so sad or depressed and unable to find a path out of that. Dr Shubs got me through all of that. He let me know what was wrong how it ended up wrong and his plan to make it right. If you were opposed to something on his plan all you had to do was talk to him he may not change it.
But if you have reasons for wanting to take another route that were valid he will always work with you. His complete goal was my happiness and he would help me get and stay there no matter how much work it cost him. NOW BUTLER BEHAVIORAL IS A STICKLER FOR APPOINTMENT TIMES. SO MAKE CERTAIN YOU ARE NOT LATE! But if you want to be well and happy. This place and Dr Shubs sure worked for me.
I'm very happy that this was my first experience with a psychiatrist.when I was on my way there the first day I was positive that it was going to be my only time and I'd never go back. So happy I was wrong. Thanks for reading

This facility, as a whole, does NOT care about patients' wellbeing. I was seeking care there for a few months, seeing a counselor and a nurse practitioner that prescribed my medication. Things were off from the beginning. I was first assigned to a female counselor but never met her and was switched to the first available male counselor after she canceled my first session because I HAD to see a therapist before I could see the person prescribing medication (even though I had JUST came out of an inpatient care facility).
I didn't love the arrangement but was desperate at the time so went along with it for nearly 6 months. After missing two appointments due to being in the hospital, I received notice that I would have to attend a stricter group meeting on Wednesday's and would not be able to see me regular counselor or receive medication refills until I did so for 3 weeks.
I could not attend on Wednesday's and left multiple messages with my counselor as well as the director over a couple weeks. No one returned my messages. I was completely abandoned by this facility. Nearly a MONTH later, my counselor called me to tell me "his phone was messed up". At this point I was already off medication and absolutely done with this place. DON'T TRY IT! Nobody seeking mental or behavioral health help should attend a place that doesn't care about them.

I have been a client of this center since early 2013. They were the first to correctly diagnose and get me on the correct medicine and dosage to contol my issue. Before I came to them I had a multitude of hospital stays, doctors and counsellors visits that ALL mis-diagnosed my health issue since 1993! I am very grateful for the great mental health care professional services I have received in the past and sill currently do. Dale A.

I had a few appointments with someone named David, who called off two appointments in a row. And before the 3rd appointment, they sent me a letter threatening to sign me out if I didn't show up. So basically this David was making it look like it was my fault, even though he was the one who didn't show. I never even met this guy, and he's already trying to make me look bad for HIS failures. So no thanks, if he's already pulling this childish crap before I even meet him, God only knows what kind of services and help I would receive there.

I went there a few months ago and I do not agree with the way they insist you "talk" about your problems for months before they decide to refer you to one of their doctors to be treated. I attempted to get my son help there for his anger problems and they just want him to talk instead of reveiwing behavior reports from his school. They are not helpful at all.
I feel they just want to get whatever money they can get. Their talking sessions (as I call them) are not helpful when all I'm doing is talking and the feedback is "yes" "mmhmm" I don't feel like they really care about their clients.
