Just got off the phone with a receptionist (who did not introduce herself) and asked if they billed mole removal as cosmetic or medical. She informed me that it would depend on what it was. I asked if they had a price for cosmetic removal and she told me that she couldnt tell me because they dont know what it is. Well if Im only curious about the price if its cosmetic, that would make it COSMETIC.
Which I thought was pretty self explainitory that if Im asking for the price of cosmetic then I am willing to pay it. I was interested in what they charge. Again it wouldnt go through insurance so why did she proceed to ask what my insurance was and then when I told her she said, 'Oh, we dont take that sorry.' CLICK. No bye, nothing. I was literally in the middle of saying Ill just pay the cosmetic price.
Also I have an HSA so even if you didnt take my insurance and deemed it to be medical I could use that but maybe the receptionist doesnt really understand that aspect of her job. Its completely unprofessional to hang up on someone that is trying to find out about your services. Also, why wouldnt you try figure out all their options so you can have their business?

Recommended this place to a coworker, since once upon a time I went here myself for skin cancer surgery. How things have changed! I came with him as an interpreter, and we were told that as a new patient he was supposed to be there 20 minutes before his appointment time. I'm sure I wasn't told that when I made the appointment. We were told that it was too late for his appointment, but if we waited a while, they could fit us in somewhere between others.
Meanwhile the woman at the window rushed through her intake questions, using her finger to repeatedly tap on the places she wanted him to fill out first, VERY rude and unprofessional, while I tried to keep up with translating for him. To top it all off, after waiting more than an hour, I went back to the window to ask how much longer it might be, and was told that it would be another 2 or more hours. Looked to me like they had forgotten about us. Neither I nor my coworker will be back!

Inflexible office policies. And staff completely uncaring as to why I was late and the distance I just drove to be there. A few minutes late and I drove an hour. They wouldn't see me. I likely would have waited longer than that for the doctor. Literally a few minutes late. What does that say about how they care for their patients.

I have been getting semi-annual skin checks here since 2004. They are always on top of things and are very careful and considerate. In my March checkup, Kate found a suspicious spot and biopsied it. It turned out to be basal cell carcinoma and they needed to take it out. They helped schedule me and I was able to get in within two weeks. Dr. K did the Mohs surgical technique and then carefully sewed me up.
It was a two day experience- first day got rid of all the bad cells and second day closed it up. The care was amazing. Dr. K and Nurse Liz were outstanding! They were patient, answered all my questions in language I could understand, and the two procedures were quick and painless. Both Dr. K and Nurse Liz followed up by phone the day after each procedure to make sure all was well. The discharge and home care instructions were thorough and so well explained that an elementary student could follow them. I would not go anywhere else for my skin care.
