Called earlier today trying to see if I can schedule for a new patient. However, it seems that the phone number is for some general call center and not to the doctor's office. The phone representative wasn't able to provide me information neither about price nor about appt availability and I would need to wait for a call back for up to business days.
After hopping from one service rep to another I was finally able to get connected to her office. The receptionist was able to answer some questions, but could not provide even cost for consultation over the phone.

I had a *fantastic* experience with Dr. Sciaroni and her team, from my first call to my final appointment: prompt, honest, and extremely efficient. I broke my foot in early August (running injury) and didn't know it was broken until my chiro/sports medicine practitioner suggested I get X-rays. They confirmed I had a break, which I tried to treat with a boot and KT tape (I had an aversion to going to an orthopedic surgeon), but my second round of X-rays came back and it didn't seem to be healing.so, you can imagine my fear when I called and went in to see Dr. Sciaroni for my first visit.
I was thinking the worst: surgery, cast, you name it. Dr. Sciaroni looked at my foot and X-rays - and my fears were unfounded. She clearly and expertly explained that my fracture was healing, showing me early bone growth on my X-rays, and advised that I continue taking it easy and come back for 2-3 more X-rays to check on my progress. This continued at my follow-up appointments: I was in and out in under 20 mins, which is how doctor's appointments *should* be.
She took X-rays, reviewed and explained them, and provided actionable steps to continue my progress, no time wasted and no fear tactics. I left each appointment feeling heard and motivated - and, while I hope I don't need her again, if I ever hurt myself again, I'm Team Sciaroni.

Are you saying what I have stated in the review is not true? It happened as is and I don't write reviews to ruins people's business. If u would come forward and be a little kinder and helpful, I wouldn't feel so lost. My elbow and back still hurts but I am "afraid" to return to see you just because I want to get "treated" like a patience and not like a product.
I met you a few times and there was never once you are open for me to talk to. The nicest time I see was u were place the injection. Sigh. Am I asking for too much? I don't even know when I walked into Dr's office, I described where I hurt and ended up only my elbow and shoulder was in your book. Did u tell me that was all? Throughout the entire process, I was pointed to where I am going to, but I don't even know how the whole entire process works. Ok.
Now sounds like it is my fault for not asking. This is my FIRST TIME and I am REALLY HURT and going through the pain! I have no idea what I should do and that's what I thought a DOCTOR should disclosed to a patient FULLY, isn't it? Not just come in and yea, this is suggested, take a shot, and goodbye. It is ok if u don't recall who each patient is and I do t expect you to remember each of us.
But we are human! Not products! We have feelings! And it seems like you don't. Maybe that's just the way u are! Hope u are happy because now I don't even know who I should go to and to trust.

I Went in thinking I had a broken thumb. Dr. Scarioni eventually did an X-ray that revealed nothing was broken. Meanwhile from the X-ray I saw a dot that I supposed was odd, Dr. Scarioni Said nothing even though I asked. I Was just given pain killers and told that it was probably a sprain. Now 1 week after I went to see a hand specialist had surgery for a thumb infection that Dr. scarioni did not notice and told me to not worry about.
I could have lost my thumb but the send you a bill after misdiagnosis. Save yourself the trouble go somewhere else. She's just here to grab your money and send you a bill. I'm editing this review because you never explained anything about the thumb - you literally just looked at it. Plus it was my first time in your office after the misdiagnosis why on earth would I come back. Use the horse analogy for someone else it applies to.

Yesterday, at St Francis Hospital come and go surgery, Dr. Sciaroni repaired my ACL. I was referred by my previous orthopedist who no longer performs surgery. I'd originally planned on getting two opinions, but, after meeting her, I decided she'd do a really good job. She's clear, confident, efficient and has good bedside manner. I especially appreciate that she reviewed my knee MRI with me.
Before surgery she bent over backwards to ensure I'd have pain meds on hand right after surgery. My surgery went like clockwork; it was perfect. Overall, I had a great experience at St Francis. Everyone with whom I interfaced was pleasant, efficient and even had a good sense of humor. I'm following instructions closely and have minimal pain today.

I saw Dr. Sciaroni for a shoulder problem from an old injury from college. She proceeded to do an ultrasound and educate me about my shoulder's condition and that I wouldn't need surgery but gave me some exercises to strengthen the muscles around the weakened area. I gave her five stars because she was very attentive, professional and warm. I'd recommend her to any of my friends that are looking for an orthopedic surgeon.

I took up Dr. Sciaroni's offer of getting in touch in her response to my review. She was sincere in her apology and it is clear she's taking steps to address the issues I raised. I liked her back when I saw her and my thoughts of her haven't changed, so I'm happy to update the record given her commitment to address the front office issues.

I visited Dr. Sciaroni recently after a skiing injury. She was thorough, professional, and basically told me I had an injury that would heal with time, I just needed to be more patient. She easily could have prescribed additional tests and/or treatments, but did not. I found her office staff to be incredibly professional and efficient. They got me in for an appointment the day after I called, and were able to shift the time when my schedule changed. I had a great experience!

Broke my leg badly and had to have metal brace and screws put in. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Sciaroni and have surgery done within a few days of my accident. The surgeon who did my ACL (49ers team doctor) couldn't get me in soon enough for an appointment, but scheduling with Dr. Sciaroni was hassle free. I read all the bad Yelp reviews and saw they were mostly directed at her staff so I braced myself for bad service.
The staff wasn't nearly as bad as described, but the point of this review is to give Dr. Sciaroni due credit for her work on my leg. I think she did an excellent job. I expected a difficult and painful rehab, but everything healed nicely and the rehab went smoothly. Less painful overall than my ACL surgery. The hardware has been trouble-free and I'm walking normally without any nerve damage or lingering side effects from the surgery. What more could I ask for?

Dr Sciaroni operated on my torn meniscus in Oct 8th 2015. I waited until now to write a review as I wanted to ensure that I am able to resume all outdoor physical activities that I used to do prior to the tear. I started to ski again at Heavenly on Thanksgiving day 2015. I skied for a total of 30 days this season. Two weeks ago I ran my first race since the op. No problems at all. Excellent surgeon, excellent bedside manners and most importantly, excellent results.

Dr. Sciaroni was a miracle find. I had this shoulder problem from years of volleyball but was too afraid to do anything about it. Dr. Sciaroni talked me through my options, answered all my questions, and.surgery was not the first option recommended. Imagine that - a surgeon NOT recommending surgery. Now thanks to her, let's say I'm back in the "swing" of things - loving life and volleyball again.

I have been trying to get through to the office for over a week. I was told several weeks ago that my rx would be called in by the end of the day, it still has not been called in. I have been calling several times a day, for over a week and always get the recording that says to call back during business hours. I have been calling at all different times during business hours.
No one ever answers. Great way to do business! I just found out that the office is now closed. They are moving to another location. Why not change the answering machine and let the answering service know so that people are not sent on a wild goose chase! I called the S.F. office, they told me to call another number, they said she hasn't started there yet. Great Communication!

This review is not for the actual Dr. Sciaroni, but rather, the rude female receptionist with whom I just spoke. I broke my wrist a few days ago, and was referred to Dr. Sciaroni by the wonderful folks at CPMC Davies. When I called today to set up an appointment for further x-rays and a more permanent cast, I was shocked at the treatment I received.
The conversation went as follows: Me: I broke my wrist last Saturday, had have been referred here for further treatment. Receptionist: (Sigh, mumble) What kind of insurance do you have? Me: I don't. Receptionist: WHY NOT? (Read the news, lady. I am one of the many, many people who lost their job this year.) Me: Um. I. Receptionist: Well, we require payment upfront. Me: Okay.
I probably can't do that. What do you usually do for someone like me? Receptionist: People like you? That's what SF General is for. And then she hung up on me. I mean, fine. Of course I'll go there. I just didn't know. Did she have to shame me? If she continues to behave like that while working in the healthCARE industry, maybe she'll be in the same position I am soon enough.

Dr. Laura Sciaroni is fantastic. Not sure why folks are saying she has no bedside manner. While i did wait an hour to see her, she made sure to spend time with me in the exam room and answer all my questions. I saw Dr. Sciaroni as my "second opinion" for a torn ACL, and she took the time to walk me through the MRI images, explain the surgery, and pros and cons of autograft v. allograft.
Even though she knew i would likely have surgery with the first doctor, she was kind, funny, assuring, and very helpful. God forbid i have another injury, I would definitely see her again.

For those of us that remember ourself as a kid with our parent visiting the family doctor, our doctor use to be personal and caring. In the old days you see only one doctor for everything and that doctor knows your family and relatives too. You might even nick named that doctor an uncle or aunt. That doctor is an extention of your relatives although not really related.
This is my experience under the care of Dr Laura Sciaroni and the staffs there. Unlike the confusion of big hospitals with so many people, here you receive more personal care. I don't have to worry about getting lost in their records for being just another patients. The staffs even remember my name when I shows up early for my appointment. That's the advantage of clinic vs hospitals.
It kind of bring back my childhood memory because I felt that she is a professional doctor who is genuinely looking after the best interest of her patients like what doctors use to be in the old days. I was in good hand under the direction of her care.

Dr. Laura is amazing. Can't say enough about the care she provided for my climbing injury. (Warning: those rock climbing walls can be more dangerous than they look!) OK, so I had to do my P.T. but I got full mobility back (as Dr. Laura said) when I thought I'd never be able to run again. While she and her staff are incredibly professional, she took a real personal interest in my injury and recovery and seems more like a friend than a doc. Thankyou, thankyou!

Dr. Laura N. Sciaroni, M.D. did a great job on my broken arm surgery! I know this because not only was my arm broken, but it was also twisted! The scar healed perfectly and there is no pain and my surgery was only 3 months ago. I was unsure about taking my cast off 2 weeks earlier than expected. But she knew what she was doing and wanted me to keep my mobility and flexibility!
She was sooo right because I didn't need physical therapy! SHE ROCKS! Her office staff is wonderful, too! Nate is super friendly and was gentle and calming when he had to cut off and replace my splints and casts! The receptionist (the one with the big smile) was sooo friendly and after my first visit, she always remembered I wanted a receipt everytime! HIGH 5 and FIVE STARS to this office! (Not that I want to ever have to go to her office again, but if I know of anyone needing a great surgeon for a broken bone. I will hands down refer her and her office!

If you want an impersonal appointment, go here. Laura was nice but just didn't really seem to care about me or my injury. She sent me to some random Physical Therapy place and when I came back 8 weeks later still feeling pain in my knee, she told me to "keep doing my PT exercises". A year later STILL with pain, I went to Dr. Akuzuki who did wonders.
He discussed other options we could do like MRI, more PT, cortisone, etc. and actually recommended specific PT people (who were great!). Dr Akuzuki didn't want to stop treatment until I was 100% better. He didn't just shoo me away telling me to continue to do my exercises (which obviously weren't working). At first I thought laura was fine/whatever, but after getting a second opinion, I decided the following: 1) she should really care about her patients future well being or 2) you, my friend, should check out somewhere else. And I would recommend the latter.
