James Lewis, MD has performed more than 50,000 successful cataract surgeries over the last 30 years. He was the first in the region to perform Dropless Cataract Surgery, the first to employ the Hydrus MicroStent, and the first to capture and utilize measured anterior and posterior corneal curvature in the calculation of intraocular lens powers. Our surgical practice is limited to cataract, MIGS (micro-invasive glaucoma surgery), refractive surgery (LASIK, EpiLASIK, PRK, and Visian ICL), and corneal surgery (DSEK, Cross Linking, and Cross LinkPlus).

LASIK is a corneal refractive procedure and our surgeon, Dr. James Lewis, is a fellowship trained corneal sub-specialist. In addition to LASIK, Dr. Lewis performs corneal transplantation and other complex corneal procedures for patients referred by other surgeons throughout the Delaware Valley. Our office is also the home of advanced technology found in only a few select University Eye Centers.

Doctors are fully functional, staff not so much. How do I know I need a referral(for a post surgery followup)? Answer - I don't, until I show up and they tell me to get one(now) or they can't see me. Any other office says things with confirmations, like "you will need a referral".before one takes the morning off and drives over.

Dr. Lewis is one of the absolute best physicians I have ever encountered (ever!) - he delivers exceptional world class care to every single person who steps through his door. A brilliant ophthalmologist, he is as committed to his patients as he is to expanding his knowledge of the most innovative surgery and therapeutic techniques that are currently emerging.
At our appointments, Lewis spent all the time we needed (this never happens!) going over medical history, concerns, and various strategies for my mother's cataract and glaucoma surgeries. Its rare for any medical specialist to provide such a concerted level of attention and focus. He absolutely delighted in being able to intellectually figure out the most ideal set of treatments while keeping my mother's specific circumstances in mind - this is a man who does not let a challenge deter him.
And in the midst of all the medical deliberation, Dr. Lewis was consistently thoughtful, compassionate and calming. Dr. McManamon was equally extraordinary in his meticulous and accommodating approach to care. He took the time to carefully respond to questions with detailed written responses (unprecedented!) that helped clearly narrow down and identify our decisions.
He is super smart, kind, and has a great sense of humor which puts patients at ease. If you visit Lewis and McManamon, you will be in the most caring and adept hands possible -the best of both worlds - elite medical expertise/surgical skill as well as incredibly gracious and empathetic bedside manner. Lastly, the staff there is also absolutely wonderful - patient, affable, helpful, and kind. I cannot recommend Dr. Lewis and this practice highly enough - as I said at the start, the best!

Dr. Lewis performed a cornea transplant in both my eyes. I have never seen this clearly in the last several years, also Dr. Lewis is a wonderful person. He always shows how much is cares for his patients. He has a great sense of humor and he is always so pleasant. I would recommend anybody to go see him for their eye care.

As one who has had complex vision problems since being less than three years old, I wanted a surgeon in whom I could put my trust for dealing with my cataracts in the best-possible way. I couldn't have imagined that I would fall into not simply competent hands, but such kind, calm, and loving ones as those of Dr. Lewis. What's more, his generous attitude is evident in his entire staff at all levels.
It's impossible to overstate his level of excellence and how wonderful the experience with him has been. Thanks to Dr. Lewis, I feel my eyesight is better than it ever has been in my adult life. My gratitude is boundless.

I had my lasik procedure two days ago and have the most fantastic, life changing results. I am actually writing this review from work as I was able to return to work less than 48 hours post procedure. The staff at Lewis lasik is phenomenal from the minute you enter the clinic. What I appreciated most about them is that you can tell they truly love what they do.
On top of that, they are extremely mindful about giving you the most accurate information and thoroughly answers each question you have. I wouldn't change and thing about my experience as I felt Dr. Lewis is the best in the business. I also had the pleasure of working with Dr. McManamon and Dr. Hall throughout my pre and post procedure appointments who were just so kind and made me feel so comfortable. I highly recommend Lewis Lasik for your lasik needs! You won't regret it!

It has been just over a year since Dr. Lewis performed my PRK surgery. I truly cannot say enough great things about him and his entire staff. My vision is outstanding! I am so incredibly thankful for everything he has done for me! He made me feel so comfortable when I was nervous and took such great care of me before, during, and after my surgery! Dr. Lewis is an excellent doctor. Several years ago, my eye procedure went quite well. My husband has also been his patient for years. Throughout the treatment prescribed, Dr. Lewis and his staff have been completely committed and professional. Their knowledge is vast, the equipment and procedures are state of the art. I would highly recommend his practice.

I am delighted that my eye care professional recommended Dr. Lewis for cataract surgery. Dr. Lewis and his staff are friendly and highly competent. Dr. Lewis worked closely with the referring professional in a truly collaborative way. After cataract surgery, there is only one eye drop twice per day! The correction to my vision is outstanding, and well worth the price for a special set of lenses.
I received a DVD of my actual surgeries, so I could more fully understand the process. I feel so lucky to be able to have such expert care! I learned that the electronic medical record system was designed by Dr. Lewis, and all information about each patient is available to the team on one page!

While I was anxious about having surgery, Dr. Lewis' staff put me at ease. The attention given me was appreciated. Cataract Surgery was quick and EZ. The next day my vision was clear! About twenty years ago, Dr. Lewis performed cataract surgery for my husband. I accompanied my husband to all appointments and was quite impressed with Dr. Lewis' professionalism, confidence and caring. I took careful note in case I ever needed the services of an eye surgeon. Fast forward all those years and Dr. Lewis performed cataract surgery for me this month.
From his office staff, through the staff at the surgical center to his fellow doctors, to Dr. Lewis himself this was the single most pleasant health-related experience I have ever had. I was never rushed in an office visit. Everyone dealt with my questions with patience and good humor. Dr. Lewis delivered exactly what he expected: almost infinitely better vision post-surgery.
Minor issues were handled with clarity and calm. All options were explained completely, my hopes were queried and honored and everyone had a great sense of humor. Five stars is not a high enough rating. This is a practice and a surgeon you can trust with your eyesight.
