Associates in Mental Health doesn't care about anyone except for lining the pockets of the staff. If you are mentally ill they want to take full advantage purely for revenue. I wish I could contact someone about malpractice for this office. Awful excuse for a mental health practice. If anything this place only made me so much worse. I wish I could give 0 stars for this review.

Please don't waste your time and money with these crooks. Front staff is rude and cold. The therapist I was working with was supposed to address trauma and instead she would come into the session late and leave early so I would only get 30 mins of the hour I'm charged for. In session there was no trauma therapy, just her asking me how my week has been and if I have anything I want to talk about.

Not helpful what so ever. I've had better therapy from my cats. The psychiatrist I was assigned to put me on blood pressure medication for nightmares (I have never had high blood pressure and I have nearly daily nightmares) and then put me on a mood stabilizer that I felt so out of wack on that I was sent home from work and missed out on my income!

And in the end, after doing absolutely nothing to help me, this office sends me a bill for over 700 dollars, threatening collections. Because apparently my insurance stopped covering their mediocre services and they never let me know. I had inquired why I hadn't gotten a bill only a few weeks prior and before I received this bill they claimed my insurance has covering it all in full.

I feel almost as if they are committing fraud at this point. And to top it all off, my sister has also had very bad experiences here as well with a different psychiatrist than I had. She told him she felt manic and he told her she was wrong and sent her away without help and she ended up inpatient in Chicago for being manic. These doctors are at the core evil people than just want to use us for another dollar.

I have been coming to AIMH for close to 15 years. My work with a former AIMH psychiatrist saved my life after the death of my mother. She went above and beyond for me. When she moved away, I transferred to Dr. Preston and Kendrick Bailey to continue my care. They are both kind, thoughtful, interested, accommodating, and skilled in their care for me.

I had one terrible experience with an interim Dr. who was very cold. Though I was disappointed, I understand that not everyone meshes. I always recommend this practice to people. For the first time in my life, I am in control of my bipolar, severe depression, and anxiety and it feels amazing.

Had ONE consultation phone call with "Dr." Preston. When the call was concluded, Preston had informed me that somebody from the office would follow up with a phone call to schedule for a visit. After two-three weeks, I decided that I was not satisfied with all that had transpired and I called to cancel any appointment that was still in planning. Now, I am receiving a bill for $250.

What a completely unprofessional, CLOWN. In my opinion, although it is clear from multiple reviews, Preston is incompetent. Furthermore, from speaking with him, his vocabulary and comprehension skills are less than unimpressive.

I will first off start by saying I have not gone here personally, however, I have referred many patients here for both counseling and psychiatry. I have heard amazing things about the counselors and psychiatrists at this office. There have been some negative comments made about an individual -- but they are no longer at the practice. Dr. Karen Kyle I have heard is one of the sweetest and most caring psychiatrists in the area. Dr. Singh and Dr. Preston I've also heard good feedback for, but have not gotten a lot of feedback yet on Dr. Wang (haven't heard anything bad!) as he is a bit newer.

I would recommend this place to family and friends in a heartbeat. I am unfamiliar with their fees/charging procedures or no show policies, but I've called the office probably 100 times in the past year and all the front desk staff has been courteous and helpful. Hopefully this helps someone out there that is on the fence about trying them out!

Seeking help for mental illness puts one in a vulnerable situation and Associates in Mental Health takes full advantage of that vulnerability to extract as much money from you as possible. I never felt like a patient here but instead like just another source of revenue. Repeatedly, I was charged for an hour of services when my appointment lasted less than 30 minutes and also was charged over $100 for medical tests which consisted solely of a blood pressure reading and weighing. I would advise anyone who needs mental health care to avoid this place and find somewhere that treats and respects you as a human.

Where to begin. Kendrick Bailey, a "counselor " at Associates in mental health, told me on my very first visit, with no other background given, that all of my children's issues with their father were my fault. They are 13 and 15 years old. Let them speak for themselves and then pass your judgement. Oh wait. Counseling is supposed to be a safe space, right? No.

My kids felt like they were under a microscope from this man every single time that they went. My children's father was mandated to counseling. He missed six appointments and I was told by Kendrick, because we missed two appointments ( one due to illness with a Drs note provided and another for baseball tryouts. As a busy single mother, I didn't realize the dates.

When I called the front desk to reschedule, they told me it would be no problem as it was more than 48 hours in advance and I had never missed an appointment before.) Kendrick told me that I was responsible for almost $500 in missed appointment cancellation fees. He did not care that my children's father missed 6 appointments. As my children's father is perpetually unemployed, I believe that Kendrick only cares about money.

He told me that if I cared about my children at all, I would pay their fathers bill. Kendrick himself went through a divorce in December of 2017. Now I am starting to see why he immediately took sides before he met my children or my ex. He berated me and made me feel like I was the worst mother in the world if I wouldn't pay my exes bill. His exact words were "If you cared about your children, you would not be arguing with me over who owes what.

You would just pay it so your kids could get the counseling they desperately need." Look buddy. I am the only parent to pay for anything. Everything from toilet paper to braces, it all comes out of my pocket. Nothing was said to my ex about the huge bill, as he has no way to pay it. I do not recommend this place at all. Nothing beneficial took place for my children. Kendrick needs to leave his personal life out of his professional life. Honestly, you would do better to go to tazwood or something of the like. I have waited 6 weeks for Kendrick Bailey to call me back. I will file a complaint against him with everyone who will listen.

Was referred to Associates in Mental Health by my NP and was amazed by how quickly I was able to get in for an appointment. I met with Baljit Singh for treatment for ADHD which has controlled my entire life from childhood to adulthood. The customer service afterwards by the staff was amazing- My insurance company required prior-authorization for my prescription and both the pharmacist and my insurance company said this can take up to a week. Associates faxed over the form immediately and had the prior authorization approved within 2 hours!

The pharmacist told me he had never seen prior-authorization approved so quickly! I can comfortably recommend Associates in Mental Health to anyone that is seeking help for Mental illness!

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because I've only seen 1 doctor there, don't know anything about the others. Front desk staff is rude & uncaring. If dealing with people who have emotional or psychological disorders, you'd think they'd be a little more compassionate. I wasn't receiving appointment reminders because I didn't say I wanted them.

I'm sorry, I thought that was just a service most places offer automatically. I get reminders from my hairdresser, for crying out loud. Wanted to switch doctors, had to get approval from my current doctor, was told someone would contact me to schedule an appointment, waited 2 months & heard nothing. New doctor isn't accepting new patients for almost 8 months from now. Have been seeing the same doctor for going on 2 years, feel no improvement, just kept upping my meds. Currently researching other treatment options.
