I saw Dr Solinsky in both his West Hartford and Avon locations. He also removed a large cataract from my right eye in Rocky Hill. He and his staff in both of his office locations were wonderful as were the nurses at the Rocky Hill Surgery Center. I was nervous to have the surgery performed and I felt comfortable with Dr Solinsky and his staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend using Dr Solinsky as your eye care provider.

I am thrilled with my cataract surgery outcome. I was nervous about having the procedure and delayed a year. Of course, my vision deteriorated and seeing signs while driving became more difficult.

As I worked with Dr. Solinsky and his team, various cataract options were presented (some more costly than others). I made the decision to go with a basic cataract surgery (even with my stigmatism) which my Medicare would help cover. This didn't change the professional treatment I received.

I received optimal treatment and care from the staff, techs, nurses and doctors. This carried forwarded from their West Hartford Office to their surgical center in Rocky Hill. The surgery staff in particular are thorough professionals who care about your well-being and have a nice dose of humor to allay any fears. Just want a patient wants and needs. Thank you.

This place absolutely sucks. I usually am a bit more polite than that, but there's just no way around it. Every single time my wife and I go in there, we are billed incorrectly. Once it was for services we never received! Right now I am in the middle of trying to get a bill I know for a fact should be covered fully under my insurance taken care of.

This has been ongoing for months. I am shuttled between department and department. Each one says "I'll get back to you in a couple of days." Then nothing happens for weeks and I have to call back. In the latest call, I was placed on hold for ten minutes and then hung up on. They just suck. Plain and simple. Don't use them. Once this bill is done being disputed, we're switching immediately.

I have been a patient of Solinsky Eyecare for many years and I have always had a great experience. The staff are friendly and efficient and whatever doctor you see they're always friendly and concerned about your needs. I have visited two of the three offices and the service is the same. I highly recommend Solinsky Eyecare.

This place is unprofessional and inconsistent with their information. They messed up my sons glasses multiple times and even gave him a prescription that wasnt his once. They don't take responsibility for their actions and act like it is of the least importance to them. I will never bring my family back here ever again.

I had laser surgery through my contact lense. Not a problem in itself, but a sign that nobody took the trouble to double check before the laser treatment started. I was a bit shaken, consulted another doctor who reassured me. The office does not seem to have optimized its organization; you have been to happier, more caring offices, for sure. One nurse was wearing shearling sleepers which I did not think looked professional.

Second visit, I was 8 minutes late on a Friday. I had to drive in from work and ran into a spot of traffic. I know I was 8 minutes late because this is how the receptionist greeted me. I had forgotten my ID in my car, in my haste. She cancelled the appointment. They have been calling and emailing to reschedule. I think it is worth looking for a better option.

Unfortunately any good is completely nullified by all the insurance/billing issues I have experienced. They incorrectly coded a bill and it has been like pulling teeth to get them to send a corrected claim to the insurance company. No one follows up on anything and as a result I have wasted several hours on the phone. After 3 months the issue is still not resolved. Not amused with Solinksky eye care and as a result will not be going back. I don't need the aggravation.

My experience with this clinic has been THE WORST I've had with any clinic. I've been in USA for 24 years, and have always been treated with courtesy and consideration in different medical facilities. The staff here made several mistakes, didn't apologize for any of them, didn't communicate with us in a timely manner, and acted like they just wanted our money. Notably terrible is their surgical coordinator, Hazel, who treated us horribly.

We picked this clinic because Dr. Solinsky was recommended by our optometrist, and because of excellent google reviews. So perhaps they just reserve this horrible treatment for patients with a darker skin tone (we're of Indian origin). Shame on this clinic for such racial discrimination.

The receptionist or front desk intake was not at the desk, but the young man or Tech was there and handled the check-in very well instead of making me wait. It shows professionalism and foreknowledge of the business. I appreciated that I didn't have to wait as you many times do at Dr's offices.

I am very happy with Solinsky Eye Care and have been going there for over two years. All the staff I met are friendly and Dr. Jeng is always professional and supportive. However, now I feel disappointed this time due to my eye surgery appointment. I have been scheduled for the surgery two weeks ago and was told to use eye drops one day before the surgery.

I kept calling three days before the surgery for the eye drop pick up and was always told that someone would contact me. Since tomorrow is the surgery, I am supposed to use the eye drop today. I called again and eventually was told the surgery has to be cancelled due to insurance issues. I asked them why no one told me, especially since I have already planned for two days off from work.

They said they did call me several times and left messages. The staff even said they called me at 9:07am this morning. I am home waiting for the call, my phone shows no missed call and no voice mail. I feel upset because I trust Solinsky. It is understandable for whatever reason you have to cancel the surgery, but it is not acceptable for not telling the client ahead of time and make excuses. I hope you understand how frustrating this is.

Prompt, pleasant, courteous. I did not know my insurance darsd had expired. They still did the exam, but sent me home aftereard. No embarrasing scene, no hassle.

They get 5 stars because you can't give 10 stars on Yelp. After a couple years with another eye Dr and a lot of different glasses and contacts that didn't solve my problem or improve my vision I decided to get another opinion. During my first appt Dr Solinsky identified a cataract as my issue, we did some follow up tests and scheduled the cataract surgery.

I am not a medical or surgery person and to say I was nervous is an understatement but the Dr and everyone on his staff were supportive and helpful in getting me into and through surgery. After worrying for weeks the day of my surgery finally came and it was simple and pretty pain free, I was home within a couple of hours and my vision was immediately better.

The nurses made sure I was well taken care of, even holding my hand during the surgery which helped me feel comfortable when I was definitely nervous. I came home and slept a few hours and woke up feeling fine, no pain or issues with my eye at all. I went for my follow up appt and I had 20/20 vision. I couldn't be happier, with the results and the Dr and his staff.

They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and you have a positive experience, you can tell that they really care. The office is completely safe during covid with temp checks, separated seating in the waiting areas and continual cleaning of everything. given how many of their patients are older and at a higher risk this was great to see.

I hope you never need glasses or eye surgery but these are the folks to call if you do. they do hearing services also if you need some help there. By far the best medical experience I have had and I would happily refer their services to anyone who asks.

I am experiencing a problem with contacting Solinsky office on Woodland Street; trying to reach someone in reference to eyeglasses status. I have called several times and left messages. No one in office returned call for weeks now. A receptionist has me on whole for twenty minutes now and haven't returned back to phone. God please help this office!

I went here only because it's in the list the insurance uses and it was a big mistake. They are way too expensive and when you pay your bill they try to double bill you and rip you off so be sure to save your receipts. It's also a good place to go when you want to pay twice as much as anywhere else then this is the place for you.

I was referred to Solinsky EyeCare by my regular eye doctor due to a scratched cornea. They were incredibly accommodating and were able to fit me in that day. My appointment was with Dr. Orr, and he was extremely knowledgeable and kind. In addition to curing my eye, he made me feel like I was important. He took the time to explain the drops he was prescribing, wrote out all of the instructions for me, and answered all of my questions.

I was also very impressed by his assistant Fovaz (I hope I didn't botch the spelling). I would highly recommend Solinsky EyeCare, and Dr. Orr in particular to anyone looking for an eye doctor.

I referred my husband here as a new patient, for an issue with his eye. He called for an appointment the call went to a call center and because he didn't have his actual insurance card yet just the ID # and group # she said they wouldn't see him. He asked why not when he is able to provide all the necessary information and she replied "cause that ain't how we do it here". Needless to say he went elsewhere and I will not be returning either.

Your front desk or the people who answer your phones, give your office the first impression. Ladies your attitude is horrible. Be nice its that's simple what is it so hard!

The staff and Dr. Kidd were very professional and friendly. They were attentive and listened well. Regarding how they managed the physical space due to COVID, I felt very safe. All staff and clients wore masks and all appropriate precautions were taken.

Got an appointment for the same day when I called with a very swollen eye. Thank goodness; it turned out to be an infection. No long wait, good social distancing. Dr. Kidd was thorough and explained what was going on well.

Staff is friendly knowledgeable and helpful as usual. My experience today was extra special as due to the COVID you would be scared to visit any doctor but the level of safety and precautions they put forth was extremely comforting. Always a pleasure. Best ever. Truly grateful. My ophthalmologist was equally amazing, he's friendly, amazing, on point and family oriented.

He put a smile on your face. Great place for friendly, professional and family oriented experience. We love our glasses too. I truly love this place. Which all my medical experiences were the same

I work in the hospital, so I am currently unable to get an appointment, since daily I interact with covid positive patients. I asked if they would make an exception to their rule about yearly contact appointments for fittings and allowing me to have new contacts, but they refused. Stating I needed an appointment to be re-fitted for the same contacts and same prescription I have used for ten years.

I understand there are policies in place but this was an extraordinary circumstance and they were completely unwilling to work with me. I will no longer be going to Solinsky.

Staff was super friendly, I initially came in with excruciating eye pain and the staff in the front desk assured me that I will be okay. Dr. Kidd was simple but he had a very reassuring vibe. I was very scared during my first visit but he made sure his explanation of what was going on with my eye was transparent and easy to understand. The team is awesome. PERIODT

Look, I know times are tough and they're doing their best to deal with the pandemic but their plan stinks. There were way too many people allowed in the office. No one wore gloves and the place wasn't very clean. The front office staff wasn't very nice. Most of all, their system of seeing patients stinks. If I make an appointment for 9 AM, I shouldn't wait 30 minutes to see a technician and then another 20 minutes before I see a doctor. The only reason I gave them 2 stars were because the technician and doctor were both nice. Needless to say, we'll be finding another eye doctor.

If I could give zero stars I would. Our wonderful Dr. Dolan sold his practice in Glastonbury to Solinsky Eye Care upon his retirement, an unfortunate choice IMHO. I do not believe I have ever dealt with a less responsive and less caring company. On the one occasion I was able to get a person who used to work for Dr. Dolan she was CLEARLY not a happy camper and not the friendly employee I remember from all the years before.

That in and of itself is telling. Over a week ago we called to inquire about a prescription situation with my husband. You can never, ever, reach a person there, but must leave a voicemail. That would be okay if calls were returned, but they never are. After 48 hours we called again, and this time actually got an agent by calling the West Hartford office directly, who said he would "leave a message" for the prescription dept. Still, nothing.

Now we are deciding to bail and follow Dr. Sagnella from the original practice (she left right away, which doesn't strike me as a good sign) and we have left NUMEROUS messages to find out how to transfer our medical records.and still nothing days later. Tomorrow I plan to go there in person and I pity the person I encounter at the front desk.

This begs the question: why should I have to go in in person to get a simple answer for.anything? If yit's important to you to have anyone at a practice caring about you as a patient in the slightest way, I would not recommend this company.

I ordered glasses in late September.now mid October and I am not getting any responsive communications regarding the order status. This is unacceptable. Also, when they (glasses store) were trying to up-sell me on (whatever) during my visit, they'd say option A was like buying a Honda and option B was like buying a Lexus. Not only are they mistaken as to what company makes what cars, but their clear lack of a detailed understanding of their own product specs was shocking. Alan Solinsky, if you are listening, please fix the problems with your in-house store. With so many local options, there's no reason a person to put themselves through this kind of hassle.

Bought new glasses and sun glasses at Solinsky Eyeglasses Center in West Hartford shortly before the Covid-19 shutdown. Carlo Burgio helped me pick out frames (they have a huge selection) that would work well with my complex lenses, were comfortable, and looked really good. They came in about 10 days later and fit perfectly. The progressive lenses were perfect and my world is sharp and clear. Thanks to Carlo for his friendly and efficient help!

From one waiting room to another. They just waste your whole day. Take 2 hours for a simple fitting appointment.be some advice:more courteous to patients time. Update: ordered contacts from them and go to boxes of lefts and the prescription was wayyyy different than I have had for years. I would never and will never recommend this office

Great response time. I called Saturday morning for an emergency visit - I scratched my eye and received an appointment within the hour. *note, they are only open 2 Saturday's a month at this location.
