The mission of the Kentucky Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is to improve the health and welfare of all infants, children and adolescents of the Commonwealth. In addition, the Kentucky Chapter of the AAP works on behalf of pediatricians and sub specialists, both those in practice and those in training, to ensure professional development and to facilitate the delivery of quality medical care to the children in the Commonwealth. We are affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Pediatricians, Pediatric Subspecialists, and Pediatric Surgical Specialists are the best qualified to provide child health care. Multidisciplinary teams including patients and families are integral to delivering the highest quality health care. The AAP is the organization to advance child health and well-being and the profession of pediatrics.
The Kentucky Pediatric Society Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 2006 by the Kentucky Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Foundation supports the long-standing efforts of the KY AAP Chapter and its history of leadership in advocacy and policy change in children's health care.
The Kentucky Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics established an annual award to be given to a member of the chapter whose work exemplifies that of Don Cantley, MD, FAAP, a former president of the Chapter, and CATCH coordinator. Dr. Cantley devoted his life to improving the physical and mental health of children in his community of Henderson, KY.
