So does this place not regularly prescribe birth control? Not only do I have trouble getting a hold of anyone here, you should expect to be on hold for 30 minutes before you get a hold of someone EVERY TIME YOU CALL - EVEN first thing in the morning, It's not uncommon that they prescribe me the wrong birth control. I get 104 depo isn't as common but this is ridiculous.

Then when I call for a yearly renewal they screw around and give me something that can't be renewed through my pharmacy because I guess just because? So I have to call them AGAIN. No voicemails can be left after office hours either. At this point, I'm probably just going to find a new doctor because this is ridiculous, I don't have time to sit on the phone for things completely preventable.

Please save yourself the hassle of dealing with this office staff. I absolutely loved my provider here, but because of the office and billing staff, I was forced to find another provider elsewhere. I decided to have a small procedure done here, and had to wait a few weeks to get on the schedule while the staff verified that the service would be covered by my insurance.

Not a problem. I received a call from the office claiming that they had verified everything and that the procedure was 100% covered by my insurance. I then got the procedure done, but a couple weeks later I received a bill for over $2,000. After about 5 hours of phone calls between the billings representative, Privia, and my insurance, the problem is still not resolved.

As it turns out, the BVWC staff went through an automated system and never even spoke to a real person regarding my benefits. The reference number that they gave me does not exist with my insurance company so I really have no clue if they even spoke to the correct insurance company. And of course they claim that they are not at fault. If you are a patient here, do NOT trust the office staff and take the time to verify your insurance yourself.

I was referred by Dr Fleener to either Dr Jansky or Dawson. As I was making the appointment I mentioned that I had breast cancer. Brenda told me that neither Dr. Jansky nor Dawson would be appropriate for me. "They don't like to spend time with patients and prefer to get in and out as soon as possible." Brenda felt that Dr Perrone would be a better match.

I find it curious that 1) BVWC physicians admittedly want to spend as little time as possible with patients and instruct staff as such and 2) non- medical staff reject a physician's referral in favor of someone else. I had to wait 3 months for a consultation with Dr Perrone and then another 6 weeks for an appointment. During the appointment she wrote an order for an annual screening mammogram.

However the facility rejected it because diagnostic mammograms are required for breast cancer patients for 5 years following diagnosis. Dr. Perrone clearly doesn't know the difference between screening and diagnostic mammograms and when they are called for. She also diagnosed me and prescribed thyroid medication by looking up symptoms on her phone. Really?

I imagine BVWC physicians are capable of delivering babies but are lacking in knowledge and skill with other women's issues. Finally, the new office is a disaster. The exam rooms are ridiculously small and cramped with paper thin walls. Conversations on either side can be heard clearly. If you value your privacy keep your voice down. I don't recommend this place

I have been a patient of Brazos Valley Women's center for over 18 years. I started out a patient of Dr. Doss and when he retired as an OB I switch to Cynthia Jansky. I received nothing but the best care over the years from them. I have delivered 3 healthy babies. With the pregnancies I have seen almost every doctor in the practice at one point or another. I highly recommend this office!

I called this place because it showed up on my insurance's network. BIG MISTAKE! I was told dr Dawson was available. Made first appointment weeks in advance. Showed up waited 3 hours to be seen and finally saw a midwife "cuz doc is not available". She answered 0 of my questions. Second appointment I called with the same exact issues. They said "they're gonna do me a favor and ask Dawson to see me". I'm thinking "finally gonna see a doc hello hello with my pregnancy questions".

Oh boy was I wrong! This dude turned out to be way way way worse than the midwife. He is extremely rude and unprofessional. Didn't want to answer any questions I had as a pregnant woman in my second trimester (as most likely he doesn't know the answers). Then I got a call from the receptionist saying that this doctor no longer wants to see me as a patient (apparently I ask too many questions.basic questions like: why is my hair falling during pregnancy). That's how despicable he is.

He wants patients that have 0 questions; the kind that go see him to pay and leave. All of the so called "docs" at this place are not willing to work nor want new patients. It's literally just a shit show open to collect $. From the minute you walk in, all they care about is to sell you services that your insurance most likely doesn't cover. Brazos Valley Women's Center is the WORST place I would definitely NOT SUGGEST it to any pregnant woman EVER nor would I suggest this rude big headed guy. If you need real patient care, this is not the place. You will be treated like cattle.

I am always very pleased with my care here! Jennifer Light has been so wonderful. I received some distressing news earlier this year and she spoke to me directly and clinically while also providing comfort. During my current pregnancy, she always explains everything thoughtfully and thoroughly. If I have a concern, she never makes me feel stupid for asking silly questions. Rosie is always so sweet and funny to talk to as well!

I have also seen Dr. Perrone when Jennifer is out and I also enjoy seeing her. Sierra at the lab is great, too! I hate blood draws but she's fast and keeps me distracted. The entire office staff is helpful and courteous. Sometimes, it takes a while to be seen, but I know it's not the offices fault if they fall behind, and they really do take care to get you seen ASAP. I highly recommend this practice.

My experience has been with Dr. South. From the moment she came into the room Dr. South focused on building trust. She was gentle, kind, and understanding. I am pregnant with my 2nd child and she has been my primary provider. My 1st experience was with a different provider in Maine and I can honestly say it was a terrible experience compared to Dr. South.

In Maine, I was viewed as an industrial machine producing a new product. With Dr. South I am treated as a precious patient bringing a unique human into our world. Trust is so important. When I had my first baby I felt scared, and alone. With Dr. South, I know that if anything unexpected happened in the delivery room that I would feel extremely calm.

I know that Dr. South cares for me and my baby. That truly makes all the difference in the world. My experiences with the nurses at Brazos Valley Women's Center have also been positive. They are definitely focused on efficiency but when you talk to them kindly, they are always kind back.

I've always had great service with BVWC. I was sad to see Dr. Doss retire, because I had been with him for many years, but I signed on with Dr. South and couldn't be happier. She really listens to me, and I find this is one of the most important things about choosing a doctor. Also, I wanted to say that I had my blood drawn recently by Sierra and I can honestly say I didn't even feel the needle go in! She is GOOD at her job, very professional and has the most pleasant personality.

I've been a patient of Jennifer Light for over four years. Her, along with everyone at Brazos Valley Womens Center are always a pleasure to work with. This year has been especially enjoyable as I have visited the facility more often since I'm pregnant with my first child. Everyone has been very attentive and willing to answer my questions. However, I specifically want to recognize Sierra.

She is always so friendly and makes the scary, nerve racking process of getting blood drawn so easy. Though I don't particularly like getting my blood drawn, I always enjoy getting to visit with her. I highly recommend Brazos Valley Womens Center!

Brazos Valley Women's Center has provided great care to me for the last 6 years! Dr. South has overseen my general women's health & pregnancies and she always answers questions I may have and has a comforting and kind presence! The staff is always kind and ready to help you. Sierra, who has drawn my blood for labs does a wonderful job. She's quick and painless, and talks to you while she's working to help ease patients who aren't comfortable when having blood drawn. I highly recommend Brazos Valley Women's center, and will continue to recommend them to friend who ask!

When I went in they were rude to me as soon as I stepped foot behind the front office doors. I was demanded to sit down and wait. And got attitude from a lady when I said I needed water so I could pee in a cup. I then ended up waiting over 20 min to get into the appt and see the dr. The dr wasn't very commutative. It made me feel like I was stupid.

I paid $140 upfront for an $8 prescription that didn't even solve my issue. Nor did I get a proper explanation as to why my situation was happening and how to permanently solve it. I was also denied the opportunity to get a full exam done like the assistant who comes in and asks the questions said I would get if I wanted to, the dr told me "let's focus on the problem you came in for and we can worry about the rest in your next visit". I might give it one more try but as of now I am not impressed.

I've never had any problems here! I usually get there about 10 minutes early and then have only a few minutes' wait time. Candice Luedke is so nice and professional, and I always feel like she takes the time to listen to me and answer any questions I have.

I totally understand the negative reviews on here, but I have had nothing but positive experiences since I first started going here in 2016. The waiting room is always full, but there are plenty of doctors. I think the longest I've waited was 20 minutes, but I had gotten there 10 minutes before my appointment time. The nurses are so kind! Reception is just okay, but they are always swamped with work.

They do always get you in and out as quickly as possible. The nurses will also go check your insurance to get you pre-approved for something that same day. I didn't think that was necessary and would have to come back for the procedure anyway, but it was so nice that they would check anyway! My doctor Jennifer Light is amazing. She's a real person and will give it to you straight.

She makes the process of going to the gynecologist not so scary! The location is great, too. The facility is huge and the building is clean and well maintained. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

There has only been one time where I was seen close to on time. Every appointment ranges anywhere from one hour-three hours to get seen. I don't have any issue with my doctor but all of the staff at the front desk and billing are in dire need of training. I have come early as they ask on the confirmation call and there is a sign in the waiting room that says if you have been waiting for 15 minutes to alert the front desk.

I did that and they said that they knew I was there. I had an appointment one afternoon and late the evening before my child and myself got a stomach bug. I explained that to the person I talked to and they rescheduled. The next time I came in they informed me I had to pay a $50 cancellation fee which had NEVER been previously mentioned. To waive the fee I had to get the Pediatrician's office to fax proof that we went there that day.

That same rescheduled appointment I was sent to billing because I had "missed" a payment for the pre-payment of my delivery. If we are being technical, my appointment was at the end of a month and the rescheduled appointment was at the beginning of the month, therefore I owed for two months but it wasn't late, it just wasn't on their "payment schedule".

In this instance a late payment would be me not fulfilling the delivery fee after my child was born IMO. At this time I paid the remaining balance in full. There was also a random fee billing couldn't explain. Two appointments later I arrived for my appointment and was told when I checked in that I owed money. 1-they didn't look over my chart which said paid in full and 2-they were surprised when I said I didn't owe anything.

After they realized it, they did say I was right but unfortunately I didn't have the best opinion of the office after all of the above issues. My doctor has been great, but overall I think that the office has severe communication issues and given that the wait times are so blessed long they may want to look into limiting any more patients and focus on the ones they have.

This clinic has friendly staff, is a clean facility, and the billing office has knowledgeable staff that are very pleasant to work with. I have a fierce case of white coat syndrome and by the time my baby was born was completely comfortable with the staff. Only thing I would change is completely out of their control, and lead to filling out the same information several times and a large back up in patients. I will definitely go back and refer them to friends. As in any healthcare facility, be kind and patient with the staff and they will be kind and patient with you.

Do not go here. Let's just say if you need to get in to see a Doctor quickly and an office has a specific doctor with many availabilities there is a reason he is so available. Let's call him Dr. #MeToo. And when you go back for a follow up and tell the receptionist that you will see anyone, ANYONE, except Dr. #MeToo and she immediately gives you sad, empathetic, and completely unsurprised eyes and says, "I absolutely understand. Let's get you scheduled to see someone else." -There is a problem.

This was about five years ago. And hopefully that guy is long gone. But for those who do not know this (because I wasn't sure at the time but I have since asked my new gyno in a new city and she cleared it up for me): -Your Dr should not just pull your gown completely off of your torso to do a basic breast exam (they can ask you to remove it yourself- or better yet, your gown doesn't even have to come off.

They can reach underneath) -Your Dr should not just grab your legs and pull you forward to the edge of the table (yes- We almost always have to scooch our butts forward so they can do the exam. But WE scooch forward. They do not grab us and roughly pull us forward) -Your Dr SHOULD tell you before they stick their fingers inside of your vagina and begin the exam.

Nothing should go inside of you without warning. This did happen. I was confused and thought that perhaps it was me and maybe my previous gyno experiences were the odd ones (I have since learned differently). When I went back shortly after to see a DIFFERENT doctor the new guy was super great. But during that appointment he told me that it was his last month there and he was moving. Hopefully they've worked on weeding out inappropriate doctors and silent receptionists who know there are inappropriate doctors and don't say anything. Hopefully. But I wouldn't take that chance.

I have never been to a doctors office like this before. I should have read the reviews before booking an appointment. I booked my appointment for 9am and I get there at 8:45 in order to fill out the necessary documents. I walk up to the front desk and the receptionist is not friendly or welcoming at all, I fill out and sign the necessary documents and hand it back to her.

They call me back at 9 and get my weight and blood pressure then make me sit in a different waiting area in the back. I sit there for 50 min waiting and they finally take me back and the doctor comes in and says "sorry for the wait I'm not sure how you got out of order". GOT OUT OF ORDER! Like make up a better excuse. I said this is ridiculous I don't have time for this I will find a different doctor and canceled my appointment and walked out. I would not recommend this doctors office to anyone!

Interesting experiences shared here - it's true that there's a different vibe in the waiting room often full of multiple family members etc. and a very diverse clientele. I've been going to Dr. Doss for 9 years and he's probably the best doctor I've ever or will ever have. He goes above and beyond, has great knowledge of general family medicine which is helpful since my other attempts at having a physician have been so disappointing. He's always able to recommend a referral and I trust him to know what is and what isn't a big deal. His warm bedside manner and sense of humor make this an easy breezy annual appointment. Will miss him if I ever have to move away.

I saw there website looking for a gynecologist for my daughter. Looked like a very good place with all of the services they list in their website. Unfortunately, when I called to set up an appointment, the receptionist was very cold, and could not tell me if they accepted my insurance. I have a very common insurance carrier, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out.

She told me that I needed to call my insurance Myself and ask if they are on the list of doctors that my insurance covers. Never have I had this happen. She was rude and unhelpful, and right before I was about to ask one final question, she slammed the phone down on me! I can't say if they are any good or not as far as the actual Care, because the receptionist is unwilling to even see if my insurance is accepted. Would rather pass, first impressions are important.

It's now been a year since I came to this office for an appointment. I've waited this long to post in an effort to be able to tell a full story. It was truly such a bad experience. The reception was not warm and I had to fill the same set of paperwork out twice. I went in for a suspicious lump in my breast and was told it was nothing but they would send me for a mammogram anyway.

I had to call them after I hadn't hear anything for several days. When I did call I was told they would call me back later that afternoon. They didn't call until the next day and when they did, the nurse gave me someone else's test results. Obviously I didn't go back. I sought a second opinion and fast forward one year. I've had a double mastectomy and almost one year of treatment. Ladies (and gentlemen) trust your gut. If you aren't being treated properly, get a second opinion.

I am absolutely overwhelmed and exhausted from how I've been treated the past several months from the staff at BVWC. When I walk in, I feel like it's a factory pumping out babies. I'm not sure why these women bring their husband, cousins, siblings, and eight children to their pap smear appointments, but it's absolutely uncomfortable for other women who are just trying to have a simple doctor's appointment.

The waiting office is a playground for unsupervised children running around and screaming at the top of their lungs. Like most adult doctor offices, I suggest that BVWC implements a policy (and enforces it) where unattended children are not allowed and they're only allowed to bring so many guests with them. Your great grandparents do not need to go to your ultrasound, ladies!

Respect other women's privacy, and BVWC should strongly enforce that! I will admit that they made my Nexplanon implantation a positive and smooth experience compared to my previous gyno office, and the nurse practitioner was absolutely amazing. Later, I was having painful and long-lasting reactions to the Nexplanon and I wanted to speak to a doctor face to face about it, but the office staff would constantly pressure me into settling with just talking to a nurse. Doing so ended up getting me prescribed on pills that only made me sick.

My regular doctor took me off of those pills and actually explained why my reaction was happening and it sounds like it was just negligence on BCWC nurse's part. Next, I had an appointment last Tuesday where I was told that I would have results by Friday at the latest. Instead of reaching out to their patients as a professional office staff should and inform them of a delay in results, I had to call them about my test results myself.

I find it unprofessional that the doctor gave me false information about testing, and that I have to beg for my own results, but I digress. I was told by the nurse trying to find my test results that the lab will definitely have results by this past Saturday. It is now Monday at 3:30 pm and I've called multiple times trying to figure out the test results.

Nurse Melissa copped a major attitude with me just a few minutes ago on the phone when I was trying to explain the necessity of knowing the results. I'm extremely disappointed in how this office has made me feel neglected and ignored. I can't believe I have to demand test results by threatening to report to the medical board. Absolutely ridiculous, sickening, and repulsive. UPDATE: Dr.

South called me personally after posting this review and told me that my "review is not correct" and was extremely rude and unprofessional towards me from the very start of the phone call. Yes, I think aggressively confronting (or rather, harassing) a patient who has had a negative experience in your office about their review is inappropriate. Dr.

South also claimed that I'm taking my problems out on them, but I'm not sure how lack of communication of your office's part is my fault, but it's interesting that a medical professional would not take blame for her office's misbehavior. I'm assuming Dr. South did not take a minute to realize that everything I was told about my test was from HER and HER nurses. It's not my fault that your nurse told me the wrong information.

After pointing out Dr. South's rude tone, aggressive behavior, etc. on the phone, she did agree to try to help me as best she could, but a patient shouldn't have to beg a medical professional for help. What she did by harassing me over my review was the farthest from professionalism, and I, a grown adult, had to stand up against her as if she was a middle school bully. I was never the enemy; I was a concerned and frustrated patient that was thrown to the side.

Sylvia, the very rude, and inconsiderate attendant for the nurse's line needs to be fired, as she disclosed personal and sensitive treatment and financial information about my prenatal care to an unauthorized 3rd party, which is a direct HIPAA violation. This violation has caused me unnecessary extra stress, during an already stressful pregnancy.

In addition to this, she has been completely unpleasant to work with. I work at a job that does not allow me to have constant access to my phone, as I have access to sensitive financial information. I have related this to her on numerous occasions, and asked if there was a way that I could return her call, or have her call back during a specific time frame.

She is completely unwilling to accommodate this simple request, and continues to (deliberately?) contact me outside of these time frames. This has led to multiple games of "phone tag, " and to me being unable to schedule an appointment when needed. On top of this, I am being charged for an entire month of services that I did not receive. I dread contacting this office, as each encounter has been unpleasant.

She is confrontational, rude, invasive, and should not be the point of contact for patients, as she has a dehumanizing and insensitive approach, and has admitted that money is more important than the actual care of the patients seen here, as evidenced by their long wait times, and the short amount of time that patients actually spend with the "healthcare practitioner." They're very pushy, and don't listen to the patient, as they are in such a hurry to usher you out of the door.

I found out midways through my second trimester that I was pregnant, despite being told for weeks previously that I was not in fact pregnant. I am completely discouraged and embarrassed by this facility, and will never return.

I won't be back! The doctor was telling me things that I knew were inaccurate. I also told them that I needed my paperwork that I brought in returned to me and when I asked for it they pulled it out of the trashcan. Last year when I had my appointment, I overpaid and I just last week had my overpayment returned to me but that was only after I called my insurance company and got them on it.

It was almost a year to the day before they returned my money. When you come in for an annual exam, you expect a Pap smear. The doctor was saying that they don't need to do that but every four years. My thought is if you are already (literally) in position, go ahead and do it. Not to mention that in a four-year span many things can happen. I will be finding a new gynecologist before next year. There are too many other choices in Bryan College Station to put up with this unprofessional behavior.

My wife and I were sent a bill for an office visit and we paid it. The check was cashed 12 days later and then we were sent a second bill one week after than. I called the billing department to confirm that BVWC had in fact received the check and cashed it. While on the phone with billing, I was given the run around and misinformation about what was happening with the account and then hung up on.

I really hope that they correct their poor billing practices and customer service. I also noticed on the bill that 67% of the bill was adjusted off simply because we have insurance, then the remaining portion was paid by the insurance and myself. I find it highly dishonest to charge someone a substantially higher rate simply because they don't have insurance.
