Built by J.J. Bollinger Construction Company for $62,710, the hospital was partially paid for by a grant from the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works and the rest from the sale of bonds, to be owned exclusively by the City of Stillwater. The city officials voted to lease the facility to the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood, a Catholic organization in Enid.

I have come to this Er where I was given a IV incorrectly to the point blood shot all over the floor and started pooling on the ground. A week later I came in like I was told for symptoms not resolved. And they tried to give me another IV And broke my vein. So I had a full blown panic attack. I was here all alone. And the head Er nurse I'm assuming came in and screamed at me.
I am now here with the father of my unborn child and it is a very sensitive situation where I walked out to ask politely id I could discuss something with the doctor on how best to go about the treatment and such. And she stepped up and started very rudely talking to me and yelling in front of the entire staff. While I was very timidly asking a question and was talked over by her and reprimanded.
The first time I was willing to just brush off the rudeness when it was just me. Now I am going to defend him and this is an Absolutely not okay way to go about talking to someone who was in fear of losing the father of her unborn child and dearly loved one 45 mins prior.

Brought in a total stranger who was clearly in trouble- she stopped breathing for over a minute on our way to the ER. The two nurses that came out were quite probably the rudest nurses I've ever seen. They yelled at a minor becuz she didn't answer their questions. Not becuz she was trying to b disrespectful, she couldn't even form a coherent thought much less speak.
Then they laughed about calling the cops on her, cops came in- 3 of them, 2 were blatantly irritated and one who couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Minor then starts seizing majorly and they actually told her to stop it. Like u can just turn a seizure off and on at will. Worst experience ever at SMC. But don't complain while you're there becuz then they tell people you're "combative". It's a shame 2 rude condescending women chose to b nurses when clearly they would b better suited to a career as a prison guard or mall security. Very disappointed.

I give five stars to Timothy Stein, PA who works in the er. He was very attentive and immediately started care as soon as got into the room. He was quick and made sure I was well taken care of. He kept me informed throughout the whole process of me becoming inpatient he even collaborated with my Dr and made sure all my needs were met. I can't commend him enough. So thankful for him.

If you have a student at OSU, I would advise them to avoid this hospital if at all possible! My daughter went in to an urgent care for stomach pain last fall. They did not have equipment to do any tests so they sent her here. They immediately got her in and told her they needed to do a CT of her abdomen. They did not inform her of what they were going to charge nor did they think to do something simple like an ultrasound on a 21 year old girl with a history of ovarian cysts (which is all it ended up being).
We received a bill from them a few months later for over $5000! They billed my insurance over $10000 for 2 hours in the ER and basically just a abdominal CT (the CT alone was billed at $6436 - you can get a whole body scan these days for less than $1000). I called many times over the course of a couple of months and kept getting escalated to the next level.
The last person I spoke with was supposed to escalate it to the CFO (most people I spoke with agreed that the charges seemed excessive yet they only had authority to drop it a certain amount even though I agree to pay in full that day if they would adjust it to $2000 - which was still excessive for what they did but I know they have to get paid). I haven't heard from anyone since it was supposed to be sent to the CFO, which was about 4 months ago.
I understand the game of inflating prices before they get sent to the insurance, but this was absurd. In my mind it felt like they were trying to take advantage of a scared young girl during a pandemic to make up for lost revenue and the lack of response on their end seems to confirm that (which is why I have finally decided to write a review). There may not be another option in Stillwater, OK.
If not, I would at the very least advise your child to be informed about the process in the unfortunate event they need emergency care! We all want our children to be protected and taken care of in emergency situations when we can't be there, but we certainly don't want them to be taken advantage of!

Just wanted to say I had a great experience there when I had my baby girl October 5, 2021. The ER was quick to let the maternity floor know that I was in labor and needed to be triaged. The nurses I had while in labor were awesome and helped me understand what was going on since she was my first baby. The labor was so traumatic on my body and baby from her being stuck in my pelvis they got me into a c-section in less than ten minutes.
Because of my OB/GYN and nurses being quick to react they saved my baby and I's lives. The only negative thing I would say is make sure the RNs are actually communicating with husbands/fiances/partners/family because my fiance was completely freaking out from not being told anything when asking how the baby and I were doing.

The doctors in the ER are some of the rudest, most condescending people I've ever met in my life. Care was slow and as I've been in anaphylactic shock and have had my heart stop due to it, went in when my throat started feeling numb and my palms wouldn't stop itching. Doctor essentially called me dramatic, did not listen to me when I said I've been in anaphylactic shock and was being cautious, snapped at me to a point even the nurse told her I'd said something already, and was generally disinterested and ignored me.
Not to mention I don't feel any better and my throat is still numb. They've also sent my roommate home when he went four days without being able to eat without throwing up with a "you don't have covid so just go home and come back if you don't feel better" surprise surprise, he got worse. He ended up just going to Tulsa because anywhere is better than this awful place. You'd be better off just driving to Tulsa than coming here. They'd probably let you die in the lobby before you got care anyway.
Not to mention I don't feel any better and my throat is still numb. They've also sent my roommate home when he went four days without being able to eat without throwing up with a "you don't have covid so just go home and come back if you don't feel better" surprise surprise, he got worse. He ended up just going to Tulsa because anywhere is better than this awful place. You'd be better off just driving to Tulsa than coming here. They'd probably let you die in the lobby before you got care anyway.

This is the second time in around 2/2.5 weeks that I've come into the ER with chest pains. The first time the bp/o2sat machine was supposedly messed up because it said my bp was 60/30. The Dr said it couldn't be right, but on that very same machine it said my o2 sats were in the 70's but that had to be right! So just Curious how one part of the machine could be messed up but not the other?
Not to mention how long I had to wait in the waiting room with said chest pain. And now as I type this I set once again in their waiting room going on 2.5 hours with chest pain. Iwill say they rushed me right into triage for vitals and ekg. But then sent me right back or to the waiting room. Not a single staff member has checked on me. I've used this hospital for several things and never had a bad experience.
Everyone had been great. But this er and their priorities and the bedside manner of some of their staff is not acceptable. So do I have to have a heart attack/ Stroke before I come just to get help? Oh and what is sad the cardiologist i'm scheduled to see highly recommended this place because of the cardiology team. Wonder if they would continue to recommend it after I tell them about both my trips. Do better SMC.

Most abysmal healthcare I've ever received. My partner was in severe pain and the doctor saw him for less than 2 minutes and said go see a primary care provider because there was nothing he could do. We are out of state and students so we do not have a pcp in Oklahoma. The nurse said we should establish one here which could take 2-3 months. We left with no treatment, no plan, and a massive bill.
