Dr. Hart has performed thousands of eye surgeries for patients suffering from a range of eye conditions and injuries. A comprehensive eye exam with Dr. Hart allows him to discover-or rule out-serious eye conditions. If a problem is found, steps can be taken to treat or correct the condition in a timely manner. A "clean" eye exam gives a person peace of mind that there is no hidden problem. In addition to checking the health of the eyes, a vision exam can measure visual acuity and yield an accurate prescription for glasses or contacts, if they're needed. If you feel that you are experiencing any of these eye conditions, please call 337-439-4014 to schedule an appointment.
When a person has a cataract, a clouding of the eye's lens blocks light from entering the retina. The retina is the component of the eye that communicates visual images to the brain. Cataracts are the most common cause of blindness worldwide. More than half of Americans develop a cataract by the time they reach 70 years old.
Dry eye occurs when your tears aren't providing adequate moisture for your eyes. Many factors may contribute to one's likelihood to develop dry eye like environmental factors, humidity, seasonal allergens, air conditioning, aging and certain prescription medications. With each blink of the eyelids, tears spread across the front surface of the eye, known as the cornea.
