Dr. Cira Amenta welcomes patients to her Quakertown practice Welcome to our new location! Dr. Amenta has now moved her practice to the Borough of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. She brings her General Internal Medicine practice to our brand-new facility. Here she will provide the same services that she had in her previous location.
Services
Dr. Amenta was born and raised outside of Washington DC. In 1994, she came to Philadelphia to go to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. She attended Abington Memorial Hospital for her residency in Internal Medicine. In 1997, she joined Grand View medical practices for eight years.
I have enjoyed being a part of Quakertown Family Medical for over eight years. Prior to coming here, I practiced at Valley Medical Center in Pennsburg for 9 years. After working at Lehigh Valley Hospital as a cancer registrar, I decided to go back to school at King's College 2 years after losing my husband to cystic fibrosis.

I am sad & confused to see some of the bad reviews because that has never been my experience at this office. The front desk staff is always pleasant & helpful when I call or when I'm at the office. My whole family goes to this practice for many years and we absolutely love Dr Amenta and her staff. I know so many people that are patients of Dr Amenta and I have never heard one complaint.
In fact, in my experience, I hear nothing but great reviews. When we moved in the area in 2012, about 10 different people recommended Dr Amenta. I highly recommend this practice!

NEVER ever stepping foot in this office again. This group is the most embarrassing and unprofessional doctor's office I have ever been in. It's dirty, the women there don't care about their patients and make it very obvious by even some of the smallest mistakes that they've made performing what should be very simple tasks. The doctor failed to call us with very time sensitive test results after waiting over a week.
Even better, she then threatens to have you arrested from your own home if you call her out on her lack of attention and care for her patients! These folks should not be practicing medicine, period.

UPDATE: what a lovely response from the office staff. Just speaks to the level of service. And just like I wrote in my review, I was given assurances for my medication and that turned out to be a lie. I had already expressed to the receptionist I would NOT be returning. Again I would advise if you have chronic issues don't waste your time because they certainly won't take the time to do what a family practitioner office does.
That includes insurance authorizations. Very relieved I won't be going back to this. Response from the owner 21 hours ago Obviously we know this about the denial of your restricted medication which is not life threatening and potentially addictive and you are unhappy with that answer. We suggest you seek another medical provider. Thank you for posting your dissatisfied views so we are able to Exit you accordingly.
This doctor has to be by far one of the worst doctors I've had to deal with. The only reason why I changed to her was because she Accepted Medicare/Medicaid and I needed a referral from a doc that could be put on my insurance card( insurance red tape). She assured me personally that she would have no problem caring for my chronic conditions and writing for non-narcotic medications.
Now after many headaches of dealing with her office staff and being told "she does not make phone calls back to her patients" after being promised a return phone call. She doesn't do authorizations to the insurance companies for medication she prescribed, and is now saying go to a different specialist for the medication. So my question is outside of rushing through appointments what does she do?
If you have chronic illnesses I would not recommend you see her. The best she can do for you is load you up on steroids if you have a sinus virus. I did not find her to be a good source of education for medical issues. And based on the service that her office provides if I could I would Give her a zero.

I have been seeing Dr. Amenta and Kathy Gotwals PA-C for well over 14 years. They have been the most accommodating, sweet, and funny (at times) professionals. Both women have the best bedside manner. I always feel like I'm taken care of with this practice. From the front office women to Dr Amenta and Kathy, my experiences have been nothing but positive. Thank you all for being great!

Dr. Amenta is hands down the best doctor I have seen. She listens, she is smart, knows her stuff, and is very easy to talk to. Her staff is efficient and gets you in on the schedule pretty quickly. They all have different personalities, like real people, not phony, and they get the job done. The atmosphere feels more home like than a doctor's office.
I have switched my children and myself here and I would recommend anyone who is looking for a doctor who makes them feel comfortable and understood, go to Dr. Amenta. She is wonderful.

Dr. Amenta's front office staff is hands down the rudest and most unprofessional staff I've ever encountered. I went to Dr. Amenta for many years until I couldn't take dealing with her front desk any longer. The front window office assistant rolls her eyes, huffs and puffs, slams down the phone, and openly talks rudely about patients I've witnessed this numerous times while waiting for the doctor (which takes forever to see her!).
How inappropriate! Any question you ask her is a huge inconvenience to her as that means she needs to put down her cell phone and interact with patients. Additionally, I don't feel an office assistant should be allowed to verbally give and interpret blood results to a patient (is that even legal?). Her entire staff has been there over a decade. At this point, I think Dr. Amenta is too concerned with training someone new than firing her horrible staff. This is all a shame because it gives Dr. Amenta a bad reputation. I personally like Dr. Amenta and her nurse but her office staff made it unbearable to call or visit.
