Dr Rom is very patient and takes the time to answer all your questions. I had cataract surgery and was very nervous - He took the time to make sure I understood the procedure and that I was comfortable throughout. He has a very caring chair side manner. Rom is a wonderful doctor. He addressed my concerns about undergoing Cataract Surgery and his staff was very pleasant.

Dr. Rom is a wonderful doctor. He addressed my concerns about undergoing Cataract Surgery and his staff were very pleasant. The procedure was totally painless and the results were very positive. Very bad expeience. The day of in surgery I arrived I waited almost 2 hours the nurse could not put the needle in my left hand after many tries then she went to the right side hurting my right. the day after surgery my right eye was totally blurred couldn't see anything went to my up eye doctor who told me that my cornea was swollen 2 weeks later my vision is still blurred and I have two floaters that are moving within my eye I called the doctors office who did the surgery and they want to send me to another specialist no compassion whatsoever from that office.
I obviously canceled my surgery for my other eye. would never go back here again. No concern whatsoever from the doctor or the office. I felt like this was just the factory of people waiting in line so many people in so many rooms all bout the money

Dr. Rom did a thorough exam of my eyes and as I had suspected, I was overdue to have cataract surgery. I then met with Elizabeth who explained all my options and ultimately decided to have monovision, one eye corrected for distance and one for reading. Best decision ever! I can see perfectly for distance, and I can still read my books comfortably.
The surgery was so efficient! I was amazed at how quickly and painlessly Dr. Rom completed both eyes, one on Wednesday and the other the following Monday! He cares about his patients and checks everything the day after surgery. I would recommend Dr. Rom and his remarkable staff without hesitation.

For as long as I can remember I have had poor vision. There was nothing more to be done, but Dr. Rom did cataract surgery on both of my eyes and I now have crystal clear vision. I will need a simple contact or glasses for reading. I am so excited because for the first time in such a long time I can SEE. Every aspect of the process was clearly described. All my questions were answered. Dr. Rom, and all of his staff were knowledgeable, kind and supportive. It was a no stress event that had a superb outcome. Thanks to all.

When my ophthalmologist told me that both eyes needed cataract surgery, I asked for recommendations. He immediately replied, "Dr. Rom." I asked others who had cataract surgery, and ALL recommended Dr. Rom. Once I met with Dr. Rom, I was convinced that I could trust him with my eyes! I was a difficult case because I had lasik surgery in 2001 (one eye near; one eye far vision).
The near vision is perfect now with one surgery! The far vision needed a second surgery for a piggyback lens which very few doctors can do(no extra charge). Then my lens clouded (a somewhat common occurrence with lens implants) which Dr. Rom removed with a laser (no extra charge by him). My glaucoma is now controlled without eye drops! I can see close and far with no glasses! I highly recommend Dr. Rom!

Having Lasik done by Dr. Rom was one of the best decisions I ever made! He is the most experienced surgeon who uses the most up to date technology and his staff is amazing. My vision is now 20/20 and I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't trust my eyes to any other doctor, and I would definitely recommend Dr. Rom.

What a great experience! After 50 years of prescription glasses and the recent onset of cataracts, I can now see better than ever! Dr. Rom and his staff were very helpful in understanding my condition and the options available to me. With each eye, the stay at the surgery center was only a couple of hours and the actual procedure was very quick and completely painless. The nurses and staff couldn't have treated me better! Dr. Rom exceeded my expectations and I have already recommended him to three other people.

I saw Dr. Rom for cataract surgery with additional elective LRI surgery. I could not have asked for a better outcome with these surgeries. Dr. Rom is exceptional at what he does; his staff also is very helpful and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Rom to anyone who is considering eye surgery. I am most pleased.

After a routine visit to the optometrist for a new glasses prescription, at which time I had complained about everything looking cloudy or smoke filled, I was informed that I had cataracts. I had read Dr Rom's posts in The News Herald so I decided to check him out. I had cataract and astigmatism correction surgery on my right eye in February and the same to the left eye in March of 2014. Dr Rom was outstanding before during and after the procedure.
He explained every step as he worked on the right eye and made sure that I was relaxed and comfortable with what he was doing. Everyone at both the Mentor and Chardon offices and the staff that I had contact with at the Surgical Care center were all very pleasant and professional. I am very pleased with the results as now, after 35 years of wearing corrective lenses to be able to see, I have 20/20 vision and have a clarity that I never thought that I would have again.
Anyone that is considering eye surgery should consider having Dr Rom do the work as he is a truly gifted surgeon with an excellent bedside manor and a quality team around him. A very special thanks to Mattie for explaining all of the pricing and preoperative and post operative procedures.
