I absolutely love my doctors here, they are the best. Only issue is with the office Staff. SOME of them are rude, unprofessional and act like you're such a bother when you call, or they sit and chit chat amongst each other while you're waiting to check out. New girl that answers the phone is extremely rude and needs a lesson on customer service, or a different job. Doctors take their time, they care, listen and address your concerns. I reccomend this place to anyone.

If you have a child you'd like to be seen for a mental evaluation, please go anywhere but Shawnee mental health. Patricia Cardona was so rude and hateful when she did the initial assessment of my child. She doesn't work in the building so you sit in a room on a video call with her. She didn't even want my child in the same room the day she evaluated him.
She wanted him to sit still and be quiet while she asked me questions about his behavior. Since this is basically impossible for my ADHD child, Patricia texted someone in the building to come get my child and take him out of the room so she could continue talking to me. And now that I needed a medication refill for my child, I've called every day since last Wednesday. It's been 4 business days and she still hasn't refilled the medication. Absolutely a joke of a mental health professional. 0/10 do NOT recommend.

I've been attending therapy here since I was 12 years old. They saved my life no doubt and I wouldn't be here today if I hadn't received help. I have three other family members who have attended therapy here all of which have had an excellent experience. Before COVID-19 the counselors for the teens and kids would take them on trips and have group therapy; this was wonderful and really helped me on my social skills as well as get me out of the house and combating my anxiety.
I've in total had three therapists here. I've only had a bad experience with one of them due to personal issues that I don't necessarily count against this whole place as there was a lot of factors playing into it. Otherwise, the other two were and have been outstanding at their jobs and do everything in their power to help me. They've respected the name I want to go by and respect me as a person, I'm not treated as an object that needs fixing but rather as a person who needs help. Very grateful for this place, I highly recommend.

Andrea Ryan is my primary Dr. She is a awesome person and Dr. Patty sparks is my mental health Dr. She also is a wonderful person. All the staff and nurses have been very good to me. They listen and understand what I going through as far as health and my anxiety and extreme depression. Have nothing bad to say bout them. Always been there for me. I really appreciate them in my life. 5 or 6 years ago. If it was not for them I would not be here in this world right now and that is a fact.

I've been a patient at Shawnee Family Health sense around 2016. Most of the doctors I've had contact with here have been very good and seem to listen to my concerns. They seem to be genuine and open with their communication with me and their expectations (with the exception of one person who, without warning, neglected to refill a medication that worked well for me, went on vacation for the holidays and never responded any of my attempts to contact her). Getting refills of medications sent to my pharmacy is a CONSTANT struggle.
The case managers staffed here seem to be HIGHLY unreliable. Leaving voicemails with the nursing staff seem to be disregarded on a regular basis. It's disappointing that I have to look for another doctor because of an unreliable staff. If I were to rate the doctors separately, I'd probably rate them a 4. If I were to rate the staff alone, they'd be rated a 1.
The unreliability of the staff outweighs how well the doctors do simply because it doesn't seem that any of my questions or concerns presented to case managers, nurses or other staff isn't being relayed to the doctors a majority of the time and that makes it look like the doctors are unreliable as well (which I don't think is the case). There are also times that I've had an appointment with one doctor and when I went to the appointment, I was told that the doctor was overbooked and that my appointment would be with someone else.
