I have such a long story but I would rather tell the story to a manager. I'm sure the detox itself is very nice (like daymark Monroe, NC) Just trying to get admitted into this facility was the worst experience. It's the staff that make it such a terrible experience. They instigate and act on a power-trip. If there's any higher-ups that could contact me, I would really appreciate it.
I may be able to talk to a lawyer as well for what happened here. I'm always respectful. They were so passive-aggressive and disrespectful, it was sickening. People are sick, they need help and support to change their lives for the better. It's nearly impossible to get admitted because the staff pick and choose who they want and make people wait 8-9+ hours just to tell them they can't get in. I support everyone trying to detox/ get into treatment but I highly suggest that no one goes here.

Update: I want to share opinions from my brothers experience here. This is not a fancy detox, not a resort- a far cry from it. This isn't on the same level of a insurance paid or individually paid for treatment facility. It is a state funded, state tan 7 day detox facility. It's kind of rough. Going through withdrawals, obviously you won't be feeling your best.
There were medications given by a psychiatrist, I don't believe the psychiatrist/doctors are on site at all times. Medications such as Suboxone, Librium, Gabapentin, Vistaril, Trazodone, Nicotine Patches, SSRI Antidepressants, Clonidine, Zofran/ Phenegren. My brother was denied a Nicotine Patch due to his blood pressure being too high. Be aware that your blood pressure being too high and/or your Blood Alcohol Level being higher than.15 will result in you not being admitted until either or both decline.
There are single person rooms. Not bathroom in rooms. Bathrooms down the hall. Dayton down the hall where there is a TV. Dayton is where you eat. While my brother was here (7/2021) he ate breakfast sandwiches similar to Jimmy Deans sausage sandwiches. For lunch, bologna sandwiches. Dinner was always delivered from Cracker Barrel restaurant. The nurses are on sight and mostly stay in a blacked out security bubble.
He felt as if the nurses were just there for a paycheck and ultimately didn't care what was happening. You must stay in your rooms for large portions of the day. He stated that in the days he was here, there weren't ANY classes. No one came and spoke to the patients about detox or recovery. No AA/ NA meetings. No group discussion. Only patients arguing about medication. Waiting in line for your medications. Sitting in the couch staring mindlessly at tv. Eating.
Being shut in your room for long hours at a time with no one to speak to and nothing to do. He would not recommend this place to someone needing detox/treatment. It's also important to know this is not a medical detox facility. Like I stated before, the Doctor is not on site. They won't admit patients with certain "unstable" conditions- like high blood pressure.
My brother, on his second night at this facility, was taken to the nearby ER via ambulance. For DT's and high blood pressure. Why they couldn't drive him 5 minutes down the road is beyond comprehension. Financially he can not afford hospital visits or ambulance. Also, at his discharge they wanted him to sign a waiver stating that his time at this detox was costing $50 per day.
I am confused and unsure about this hence being told due to my brother having no income, his stay would be completely free of charge. I was told that if he had income then the price would be based solely on the amount of income. So not sure where the $50 a day came from and if he will be responsible to pay. Initial Review from day of admission: The detox facility accepts patients that are going through withdrawals from substance abuse.
Without the need for insurance. Depending of if the patient has an income or not, the payment is either on a income based sliding scale or if there is no income then treatment is free. If you're having issues finding the correct building for the detox facility, it is located on the back corner of the 280 executive park drive concord Nc building, suite 160.
It is the building right beside the older Daymark outpatient building. It did take us nearly 6 hours from the time we arrived until he was finally admitted. Which most of that time was just the normal process of paperwork and placing the patient. The last 2 hours was an issue the patient personally had. Overall, expect it to be an all day affair but again for a potentially free 7 day detox for those in desperate need- it's worth the wait. The staff were pleasant and attentive. Giving out free bottled water and crackers.
